Calling all shutterbugs – MousePlanet is looking for YOU!
Have you always wanted to share your best Disney vacation photos with thousands of other Disney fans? Enter the MousePlanet Calendar Photo contest, and your dream just might come true!
The 2015 D23 Expo is just two months away, and MousePlanet is planning some special offerings for our community of Disney fans. As part of our preparation, we are seeking reader-submitted images to use in a 2016 calendar that will be distributed at the Expo. We're looking for postcard-perfect photos from your Disney travels around the world, from sunrise at Castaway Cay to sunset at Aulani, and everything in between.
If your photo is selected, it will be featured in our calender, where it will grace the walls of the homes and offices of Disney fans around the world for a whole year. Winners will also be featured here on MousePlanet.com and on our social media sites.
You'll receive photo credit in the calendar, and can add your Twitter, Instagram or other social media or image-sharing account profiles too. This is a great way to gain followers if you're into that sort of thing. Best of all, winners will receive extra copies of the calendar to give to your own friends and family—what an easy way to wrap up your holiday shopping!

Sound interesting? Here are the details you need to pick the best photo(s) from your collection:
- Rule #1: Your photo must be your own original work. Please do not submit any photos you did not personally take.
- Our calendar will feature a wide variety of images from Disney travel destinations, so think beyond the castles.
- Photos must feature a Disney travel destination. The Disney theme parks, Disney Cruise Line, Disney Vacation Club property and Adventures by Disney tours are all included.
- Please do not submit photos of or from Disney conventions, movie events, Disney on Ice, Disney Store, or other non-travel Disney events or experiences.
- We prefer, and will give priority to, photos that do not include people. Disney characters in costume are fine.
- If your photo includes recognizable people and is selected for the project, we will send you a model release form. You must obtain and return a model release for each person in the image prior to the printing deadline, or your image will not be used.
- Images must be horizontal / landscape. Vertical / portrait images can not be used.
- Original images must be a minimum of 2400 x 1600 pixels, and we prefer 2550 x 3300 pixels.
- Do not enlarge smaller images, as they will not meet the printing standards. Photos taken at your camera's highest resolution setting are best.
- Our printer suggests that you save your images in a lossless file format such as .tif and .eps if possible to maintain accuracy and quality.
- High Dynamic Range images are welcome, but must be identified as such in the submission.
- Maximum of five images may be submitted per entrant. If we love your work but your photos are too similar to other photographers, we may contact you to submit other images, but please do not send more than five unless requested.
Submit your photos for a chance to be included in the 2016 MousePlanet calendar.
To submit your photo:
- You can submit up to five images, so choose your very best photos.
- Send your submission(s) to calendarcontest@mouseplanet.com no later than Tuesday, June 30.
- To prevent your submission(s) from being rejected by our e-mail system, submit just one photo per e-mail.
- If submitting more than one entry, please send them seperately.
- You can also upload the images to an image-sharing site of your choice, and send us the link to view the images. This is a good option if you have very high-resolution .tif images.
- Include all of the following with each submission:
- Your full legal name
- Mailing address
- Preferred e-mail address
- Preferred phone number
- Where and when the image was taken
- Name as you wish it to appear on your photo credit
- If you have a public Twitter account and wish it listed in your photo credit, please provide your username.
- If you have a public Instagram account and wish it listed in your photo credit, please provide username.
- If you have any other public social media or image-sharing account and wish it listed in your photo credit, please provide your username.
All submissions will be evaluated by MousePlanet staff, and image selection is solely at our discretion. Winners will be notified by e-mail on or around July 10, 2015. Model releases, if required, and/or any requested image revisions must be recevied by Thursday, July 16 or the image can not be used. Calendars will be mailed to winners after August 17, 2015.
By submitting your image(s), you agree to the following:
- You retain the copyright to the original, unedited photos you submit to MousePlanet.
- MousePlanet reserves the right to reject submitted photos for any or no reason, and to edit photos for any or no reason.
- You agree to grant to MousePlanet the following non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, fully paid-up rights in perpetuity for your photos:
- Publish, distribute, and publicly display your photos online, at MousePlanet.com, in our newsletter, or via any other publication method, known or unknown; or other third-party websites and publications with whom MousePlanet enters into a content distribution arrangement;
- Include your published photos in our online archive or database.
