After two years of writing here on MousePlanet there is one article that I continue to get email about to this day. Two Christmases ago, I wrote a story about my Disney Village Christmas Collection houses. They’re one of my prize possessions and certainly my favorite Christmas collectibles. They’re modeled after actual buildings from Main Street USA. As you can see from the photo, we have The Main Street Train Station, The Main Street Firehouse, The Main Street Cinema, Casey’s Corner and Cinderella’s Castle. Two years later and I still haven’t purchased The Emporium or City Hall. Someday, I suppose.

I found these two last year at a local nursery Christmas Shop. They’re from Department 56. They had no box and no AC Adapters so I was able to get them for practically nothing. The AC adapters are easy to find, so this was a deal. I realize one of them isn’t technically a house, but I think it fits in the collection.

This Snow White house was available from DisneyShopping.com several years back. There were several in the collection, but I felt that this one was the most classic.

Minnie’s Christmas House was also purchased online several years ago. Mickey’s house was sold out and I haven’t been able to track one down since.

There are other Disney Christmas Village Collections out there. Department 56 has done several lines over the years, as has Hawthorne Village. It’s always a hot market and once they’re discontinued, they’re really hard to come across at a fair price.
Every season, we crack open the attic and drag out all the boxes and the kids can’t wait to have these Christmas collections up around the house. Of course, the two big kids in the house—especially yours truly—can’t wait either. They’ve become part of the fabric of our Christmas season and I’m sure I’ll be setting them up for many years to come.
Now, if I can just track down The Emporium and City Hall at a good price….
Thanks for reading, have a magical holiday and a joyous New Year and I’ll see you next time with more of that great Disney Stuff.
