A while back, I shared all of the places you could get breakfast to begin your day at Disneyland, and this month the focus is turned to Disney California Adventure Park. There are actually quite a few places to get breakfast over, and they all offer some pretty tasty items as well so let’s “dig in,” shall we?

Ariel’s Grotto is the lone “character” restaurant in Disney California Adventure Park and offers a character breakfast themed to the Disney Princesses. Upon entering the restaurant for your reservation, you will meet Ariel and, throughout your breakfast, her princess friends will come around and greet you at your table. The breakfast here is based off of a prix fixe menu and includes a selection of pastries and fruit for the table, along with your choice of drink and entrée. The options on the entrée menu include: a spinach-artichoke and egg white frittata, a fresh berry Belgian waffle, tri-tip and eggs, a breakfast sandwich, and an all-American breakfast. The food is pretty good here and, with the addition of the pastry basket and fruit plate, it works out to be a decent deal with all things considered. If you have a princess fan in your group, you can’t miss this breakfast option, as it’s a guaranteed way to meet most of the top princesses for a picture and an autograph. Another fun part of this restaurant is that the interior is quite beautiful and the large windows surrounding the restaurant offer great views.

Cozy Cones
This is going to be your breakfast on the go. You can pick up a Chorizo and Eggs Cone, Cheddar Garlic Bagel Twist or a Southwest Scramble Cone, in addition to sweets and treats that stretch the definition of “breakfast.” If you’re rushing through Radiator Springs on your way to Radiator Springs Racers, or on your way out after a quick race, stopping by the Cones is a great options.

Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Café (Starbucks)

Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Café doubles as the Starbucks location at Disney California Adventure Park and offers a similar menu to the Starbucks in Disneyland Park. With an assortment of hot breakfast sandwiches, pastries, bagels, and your typical Starbucks coffee/tea menu, Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Café is a great stop if you’re looking for something in a hurry. An added bonus here is that when the gates open up before the park actually opens, Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Café is generally open early, as well ,which means you can grab your coffee and some breakfast before the park even opens, maximizing your morning without skipping anything.

Flo’s V8 Café
As Radiator Springs Racers is one of the most popular places to begin your day at Disney California Adventure it seems only natural that Cars Land has a place to stop for a quick breakfast, and that place is Flo’s V8 Café. Located conveniently in the middle of Cars Land, and a short walk from Radiator Springs Racers, Flo’s V8 Café is a counter-service restaurant where you can order your food and take it to a number of tables in different parts of the restaurant to enjoy your breakfast. The best part of Flo’s is that there are a lot of places to sit, and every room is vastly different. You can choose to enjoy your breakfast in Doc Hudson’s office and get a look at the Piston Cups on your way out, you can sit outside and enjoy the morning sunshine, or you can sit facing the Radiator Springs Racers attraction and watch the cars racing up over the hill.
Of course, it also doesn’t hurt that Flo’s food offerings are diverse and pretty good. The menu here includes: an American breakfast, French Toast with salted caramel sauce and bananas, a chicken tamale with eggs, a simple fruit plate, and some very fun Lightning McQueen and Tow Mater-themed waffles on the kids menu. Flo’s offers quite a few choices on your breakfast, and the prices aren’t terrible for being a in-park restaurant, so it’s definitely worth a stop on your next visit.

Schmoozies
Schmoozies is another quick, grab-and-go breakfast option for you at Disney California Adventure. As the name playfully suggests, Schmoozies is a smoothie stand in Hollywood Land, offering quite a few options of smoothie flavors including: Mango, Strawberry Banana, Strawberry Pineapple, and a Mocha-flavored smoothie, additionally they usually have a seasonal flavor that rotates out during the year. Schmoozies stays open throughout the day, so it’s not strictly a breakfast spot, but it’s a good option if you’re looking for something quick and portable. It doesn’t hurt that they’re actually pretty tasty, too. Two good tips here: one, if you order one smoothie (they’re pretty decent sized) and ask them to split it they will put it into two different cups for you to easily share, and, two, you can swap out or leave out any ingredient in the smoothie you wish.
Taking the time for breakfast is not only the smart way to begin your day health-wise but with all the different options that Disney California Adventure Park offers it can be a fun way to kick off your day in the park. The different options for breakfast are fairly diverse, which keeps it fresh and interesting and should satisfy everyone in your group. Hopefully next time you find yourself starting your day on this side of the Esplanade, this helps you choose where to indulge in some breakfast before the fun starts.
