Thanks to our sponsor
Today’s show is sponsored by Owner’s Locker, a great service that gives you a place to leave your vacation-only stuff until your next trip to visit the Mouse.
Mike plans to use his locker to hold all of the wedding stuff that he and Nora buy in Florida until it’s time for the cruise.
Also, if you have any great ideas for how to use an Owner’s Locker, if you’ve signed up and are anticipating using your locker, or if you have already used your locker, send us an email or call our voicemail and let us know what you think!
Tip of the Week
This week’s Tip of the Week comes from listener Jeff Klosterman, who recommends taking the boat from the Wilderness Lodge to the Contemporary and walking to the Magic Kingdom in order to avoid the Transportation and Ticket Center. He also recommends taking a cab from other resorts to the Contemporary and walking over.
Mike has walked from the Magic Kingdom to the Contemporary and taking a cab to his resort from there.
Mark notes that, if you aren’t in a rush and you’re staying on property, just wait for the Magic Kingdom bus, and it’ll take you to the bus stop right outside the Magic Kingdom gates instead of you having to walk over from the Contemporary.
At the Station
We did get the second strip in the four-part series from Sean Jones, but due to a timing issue, we’re going to have to hold it for next week. Zurg gets angrier and the Mad Hatter gets sillier. Tune in next week for that segment.
Don’t forget that we’ve set up a page dedicated to archiving all of the “@ The Station” strips to make it easy for you to find them.
Review System Spotlight
This week we look at the Swim with Dolphins shore excursion in Puerta Vallarta on the Mexican Riviera itinerary for the Disney Cruise Line. Our MousePlanet readers love the Swim with Dolphins event, rating it 5 out of five planets. Our featured review this week is by DisneyPhile of Garden Grove, CA.
DisneyPhile had a great time, and believes that she got even more time with the dolphin because she followed directions. There are a photographer and videographer to capture your special moment.
Mike and Mark both would love to spend time with dolphins, but they have never gotten the opportunity. Maybe some day.
Planning Mike’s Wedding
Mike talked about having Mark send wedding mouse ears to him from the park. It took 2.5 weeks to get from the park to Mike in Minnesota, but they made it just in time to be used in the engagement photo shoot.
Stump the Hosts
Janice in Minnesota wrote in, asking if we were still doing Stump the Hosts, and noting that she thinks that she met Steven Ng, many years ago. She asked Mike and Mark to name the 12 Walt Disney World monorail colors. Mike needed some help, and Mark had to lead him to the finish. Steven also noted that he doubts that he was the Steven Ng that Janice met.
The 12 colors are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, black, coral, lime, silver and gold.
Ask the Kid
This week, Chip Joyce asked Mark’s son: There are so many character meals that have the same characters, such as the Princesses, Fab Five and Chip and Dale. If you could create a character dining experience, which characters would you want and in what restaurant would you want it located? (Chip notes: I would either put a Pixar character meal into Pixar Place when it opens or give the Seven Dwarfs a meal somewhere)
Mark’s son thought that he’d probably do the Pixar thing, especially WALL-E. He says that he’s funny because the commercials are funny. He also thinks that maybe he’d put a Roger Rabbit meal near the Roger Rabbit attraction that he wants to add.
Magical Moment
Liana from Simi Valley called in to talk about how magical it was when her daughter saw a two-minute commercial for the new Toy Story Midwa Mania at DCA. (Toy Story 2 is her daughter’s favorite movie. so she’s excited to go on the attracton to see all of her “friends.”)
Mark loves the attraction and feels that it’s going to be a big crowd-pleaser.
