Tip of the Week

Today’s tip is comes via email from listener Sharla, who suggests that you make as many of your purchases as possible with your Disney Visa card at the World of Disney at Downtown Disney to get the 10 percent discount.

Mark noted that there may also be a Disney Vacation Club member discount, but he usually takes all of the cards that might possibly get discounts and lets the sales clerk pick the biggest discount.

Mike misses the days that he used to get a cast member discount.

(What’s your opinion?)

Featured Attraction

This week we look at Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.

In addition to the Park Guide page linked above (which Mark has now corrected), you can also find information about the original tributes planned to Disney Imagineers in the the murals at one of Mark’s early feature articles, Mystery Guest, Sign in Please. You can buy the book Walt Disney Imagineering: A Behind-the-Dreams Look at Making the Magic Real to see the original artwork and lots of other great things.

Review System Spotlight

This week we take a look at the Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. MousePlanet readers really love it, rating it 5.0 out of five planets. Our featured review this week is by BrandonHRich of Nashville, TN.

While Brandon was not thrilled with the length of the walk from his car to his room, everything else was wonderful and the Villas easily earned a 5-planet rating.

You can also find Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge in our Park Guide.

MouseAdventure at Walt Disney World, November 14

Don’t forget that registration is now open for MouseAdventure Walt Disney World! Get your team ready and register now!

Last Week on MousePlanet

Andrew Rich, down at MousePlanet Global Headquarters told you what you may have missed on the MousePlanet site last week if you’re not visiting regularly.

Listener Feedback

A former Mama Melrose’s cast member told us that they used to wait on the Backstage Magic tours when they came through and took their mid-day break, so they were surprised to find that the tour now stops for lunch at Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge, and it really took away from the tour itself.

Kim Barron called in from Epcot, while she listened to the Jammitors. She had a great cruise and was enjoying the land portion of her trip. She warned that cabin 2629 is right next to the luggage staging area, which makes it very loud on the last night of the cruise.

Jon Shain wrote to let us know that he really appreciated us bringing Sil Spagnuolo on the show to talk about his Eastbound repositioning cruise, and to thank Sil for giving such a great recap of the trip. Jon noted that it just went to prove that the people aspect of the trip was the most memorable thing.

Stuart Sternberg wrote to say that he enjoyed the show on the Top 3 Queues and Pre-Shows, though he was surprised about our rankings for Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Mark read a tweet (Twitter post) from Digital Jedi, who was surprised that we read his email on show 307. Mark warned him that we’d read the tweet, so we did.

March of Dimes

Mark’s walk for the March of Dimes went well, though he did not make his goal. MousePlanet readers and MouseStation listeners made up more than half of the non-Mark-contributed money – thanks so much! The donations page should remain active through the end of the month, so you there’s still time to donate, if you’d like. Just go to Mark’s fundraising page and help to provide a better chance to prevent prematurity and to help those babies that are born prematurely.
