Tip of the Week

This week’s tip comes via Twitter from MousePlanet’s Adrienne Vincent-Phoenix, who recommends taking Behind the Seeds tour at The Land pavilion at Epcot. It has also been recommended by MouseStation listener Sharla Manglass. Neither Mark nor Mike has taken the tour, though Mark hopes to convince his family to try it on their next trip.

Featured Attraction

This week we look at the JAMMitors at Epcot.

Don’t forget to check out Mark’s interview with “Head JAMMitor” Paul Collins from last October.

MouseAdventure at Walt Disney World, November 14

Don’t forget that registration is now open for MouseAdventure Walt Disney World! Get your team ready and register now!

Also, don’t forget to sign up for the MouseAdventure Newsletter, which will keep you informed as more details about MouseAdventure and the MouseAdventure on the High Seas cruise are announced!

Ask the Kid

Yep, it’s back! You sent us a bunch of questions for The Kid, and we asked him! This week’s question was asked by Paul Hicks:

“What are your favorite restaurants? And why? I might suggest breaking them up into four categories: carts, counter service, sit-down and character meals. Along similar lines, if you were to create your own restaurant, what type would it be, where would it be and what would it serve?”

The Kid came up with a pretty good list overall

Carts: Churro cart in Africa or ice cream carts – loves churros
Counter Service: Pizzafari – only CS he could think of, knows food is good
Table Service: Flying Fish – good food
Character Meals: Tusker House

For a new restaurant, he came up with an idea often tossed around in Disney fan circles: a futuristic sit-down restaurant in Epcot with samples of food from all around the world, Chinese at one station, Italian, American, French, Canadian, Japanese, etc.

Last Week on MousePlanet

Andrew Rich, down at MousePlanet Global Headquarters told you what you may have missed on the MousePlanet site last week if you’re not visiting regularly.

Listener Feedback

Bill Carpi contributed a story illustrating how illness of others resulted in a horrendous reaction from Disney cast. A norovirus outbreak on the Disney Magic in 2002 resulted in the last-minute cancellation of a cruise that he and his wife were to sail on. He did not receive notification until he checked in at the Wilderness Lodge the day before the cruise, and the staff there was much less than helpful. It was a pretty remarkable letter illustrating the complete lack of helpfulness or sympathy offered by the folks at the Wilderness Lodge and the Disney Cruise Line.

Jonathan Shain called the voicemail line to provide his 10-year-old son’s response to the Kim Possible World Showcase Adventure. His son was less than thrilled, though Jonathan would love to try it again.

Stuart Sternberg responded to the story of the fatal monorail accident and also noted that he thought that we let him off easy on his Barney impression. He also appreciated our reception of his idea about a possible “Are You Smarter Than a Cast Member?” segment.

Raelynn was concerned about whether or not you can get the pre-order special on the PhotoPass Web site if you weren’t sent the offer by Disney. Mark assured her that she should have no problems.

George was disappointed that we did not give a spoiler alert in our discussion of Disney Pixar’s Up. Mark noted that we did not expect to be presenting spoilers, and when the spoiler actually crept in to the show we did not go back and record a spoiler alert. That was our fault.

Shawn from Riverside called the feedback line to complain about D23’s capacity problems related to the studio tour. that they are offering.
