Tip of the Week
This week’s tip comes via Facebook from MousePlanet’s own Shoshana Lewin Fischer, who suggests that you not be afraid to ask a cast member (or even another guest) to take a photo of you and your family. This way everyone can be in the picture.
Mark highly endorses this tip.
Featured Attraction
This week, we look at the Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.
Review System Spotlight
This week we take a look at the Carnation Cafe at Disneyland Park. MousePlanet readers love it, rating it 4.6 out of five planets. Our featured review this week is by CariBelle of Bakersfield, CA.
CariBelle’s party had a great time, with great food and great service. The hostess was able to put their two tables of four together for them before they arrived, and their Celebration decorations and goody bags were all there waiting for them. They enjoyed it so much that they gave it a 4-planet rating.
You can also find the Carnation Cafe in our Park Guide.
Magical Moment
This week’s Magical Moment came in an email from Pat. Due to the economy, he and his wife had resigned themselves to a year without a vacation, and they wouldn’t have a trip until next August, when they’d be visiting Denver, the Grand Canyon and Disneyland. There wasn’t enough money for a theme park trip in the budget before then. Through the magic of unused Disney Vacation Club points and frequent flyer miles that needed to be used, and a comment by his wife that it was too bad that Disney doesn’t have something on the beach, Pat was able to book a very inexpensive trip for his family to Disney’s Vero Beach Resort for next January. They get not only a vacation, but a Disney vacation, much sooner than next summer.
Last Week on MousePlanet
Steven Ng, sitting in for Andrew Rich, down at MousePlanet Global Headquarters told you what you may have missed on the MousePlanet site last week if you’re not visiting regularly.
Listener Feedback
Brian Jonas from Anoka, MN, wrote to say that Mike’s wondering was incorrect, and that he is not related to the Jonas Brothers.
Jonathan Shain called the voicemail line to compliment Steven on his interviews with Donna Tuggle and Kevin Rafferty. Both interviews made him want to get out to California to see the Walt Disney Family Museum now and Carsland when it opens.
Jonathan also talked about the plan to rework the Disney Stores, based on an article in the New York Times. Mark didn’t really have any more information on the subject to share, but he hoped that Disney at least added more merchandise for adults to the stores.
Digital Jedi posted on Mark’s Facebook page that he had just had an article published as a guest writer for the Re-Imagineering blog. Mark agreed with many of the points that he made in the blog post, but not the entirety.
Paul Jones posted to the MouseStation Facebook page that he was wondering why Mark wasn’t posting the weekly polls to the MouseStation page. Mark responded that, while using his phone, it was difficult for him to switch back and forth between posting to his Twitter page and the MouseStation Twitter page, which in turn feed his and MousePlanet’s Facebook pages. He will try to post to both if he posts the polls from home, but when he does it during the day it’ll likely just be his pages.
