Tip of the Week

This week’s tip comes via email from listener Kevin, who suggests:

Take advantage of the single rider lines, when available, especially if you have already ridden the attraction once or twice with family or friends. I was able to ride in the front seat of Rock-n-Roller Coaster with a member of a party of 3 who was waiting in the regular line for the front car.

Using single rider lines is especially useful when you don’t need to worry about missing the themed queue. Also, don’t go through the single rider line with a group expecting to be allowed to ride together. In fact, if the grouper at the ride can put together two odd-numbered parties in the standby and/or Fastpass lines, you won’t be filling those seats as quickly.

Featured Attraction

This week, we look at Pirates of the Caribbean at both Disneyland Park and Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.

Mark talked about how the original Disneyland version of the attraction embodies (and was likely the source of) the Imagineering saying that “nothing is concrete until they’re pouring the concrete — and sometimes not even then.” He also discussed how the attraction was not originally planned to be built at Walt Disney World, and how it came to be built after all. Mark further discussed the difference between the two versions of the ride, and how the Walt Disney World version is one-third shorter than the original. Mike agreed that the Disneyland version is much better.

Ask the Kid

This week’s question was asked via voicemail by Joey in Tucson, who asked:

Robert Zemeckis recently announced that he was getting together the original writers of “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?” and they were going to be writing a sequel to the movie, and that movie has always been one of my top ten favorite movies of all time, and I was wondering if The Kid had any ideas for what they could put in the sequel. Maybe he had some ideas for a sequel itself or maybe just some things that he’d like to see. More things with different characters, more Disney characters, maybe more Warner Brothers characters, I don’t know. I’m just curious to see what he’d like to see in a sequel to “Roger Rabbit?”
