Tip of the Week

This week’s tip comes via email from listener Paul, who suggests:

You have probably covered this but here goes: before going to a “hard ticket event”, such as “Mickey’s not so scary Halloween”, pick up a schedule of events a few days beforehand and review it. This way you can decide, at a leisurely pace, what events, rides or shows you would like to experience. This is much better than standing in the middle of Main Street wondering: “were do we start”? You can usually pick up one of the pamphlets at guest services on Main Street.

Mark and Mike talked about how to leverage your interests with park guides for the hard-ticketed party.

Featured Attraction

This week, we look at Finding Nemo – The Musical at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Mike admitted that he does like the show, though he still prefers Festival of the Lion King. Mark talked a bit about behind-the-scenes info on the show, as well as highlighting some of the stuff that takes place on the show’s set before and after the show itself.

Review System Spotlight

This week we take a look at Kona Cafe at the Polynesian Resort. MousePlanet readers love the restaurant, rating it 4.2 out of five planets. Our featured review this week is by stan4d_steph of Glenville, NY.

Steph made her traditional post-race visit to the Cafe a couple of days after the WDW Half Marathon for some Tonga Toast and Kona coffee press pot. The service was a bit slower than usual and the coffee was a bit weaker than usual, leading to her giving it a 4-planet rating.

Mark and Mike have eaten there fairly regularly, though Mark seems to keep missing having breakfast there.

You can also find Kona Cafe in our Park Guide.

Last Week on MousePlanet

Steven Ng, filling in for Andrew Rich down at MousePlanet Global Headquarters recapped what you may have missed on the MousePlanet site last week if you’re not visiting regularly.

Listener Feedback

Maryann Fekete wrote in to ask us to keep asking the poll of the week on the preceding week’s show for the benefit of those who don’t use Twitter or Facebook. She also answered two earlier polls, favorite distraction while in a park queue and which park she’d like to live in.

Dan the Light Man called to tell us what he thought about the movie “A Christmas Carol.”

Paul to ask our opinion about attractions that should and shouldn’t have Fastpass.

Ralfrick called to tell us some more about Jack Benny, following up on the interview with Eddie Carroll. He told us about the International Jack Benny Fan Club and it’s dispute with CBS over the ability to restore some old Benny shows. For more information, check out the fan club’s Web site. He also gave us a good tip about walking to the Polynesian from the TTC to get to the park earlier than you can from the TTC itself.

Chris wrote to tell us about the McDonald’s at Downtown Disney moving out at the end of April and being replaced. Mark wrote about it in yesterday’s WDW Update.

What do you think? Let us know!
