Feature: Disney Cruise Line’s 2012 Itineraries

Mark talks about the itineraries that were announced by the Disney Cruise Line at a press conference last week.

When the Disney Fantasy joins the fleet next spring, the Disney Magic will stay based in Florida for a month and a half. It’ll then head north to New York City, where it’ll run 8-night Bahamaas cruises, 5-night Canadian Maritimes cruises, and 2-night cruises to nowhere, starting May 25, 2012. In September, the Magic will reposition from New York to Galveston, from where it will sail 7-night Western Caribbean cruises through December 2012.

The Disney Wonder will remain on the West Coast, sailing 7-night Mexican Riviera cruises until the end of April, when it will begin a variety of specialty cruises. On April 29, it’ll head out on a 15-night Hawai’i cruise. When it returns on May 14, it will leave for Vancouver, where it will leave for its first Alaska cruise of the season (with new stops). It’ll return from that first cruise to Seattle, which will be its home port for the rest of the Alaska season. The last Alaskan cruise will conclude back in Vancouver, from where it’ll reposition back to Los Angeles. When it gets there, it’ll leave on four 7-night Pacific Coast cruises, after which it will return to the Mexican Riviera.

Mark was also able to talk with Disney Cruise Line President Karl Holz for a few minutes to talk about the variety of ports and destinations, as well as the upcoming opening of the Aulani resort in Hawai’i (Holz is overseeing that resort as well).

You’ll want to check the Disney Cruise Line’s website to confirm itineraries and departure dates for any of these cruises. Reservations may be booked through the Disney Cruise Line website, by calling the Disney Cruise Line at 888-DCL-2500 (888-325-2500), or your travel agent. MousePlanet’s preferred Disney travel providers are MouseEarVacations.com and Small World Vacations.

Listener Feedback

Listener Paul Schnebelen wrote in to tell us what he would write about if he were able to contribute to Chad Emerson‘s next compilation of essays about Walt Disney World.

March of Dimes

MousePlanet readers and MouseStation listeners have helped Mark to raise nearly $19,000 for the March of Dimes over the last five years to help save the lives of babies born prematurely. This year, his goal is to raise another $5,000. But that’s not all! This year, you can walk with Mark, either in person or virtually, by joining Team MousePlanet! Mike has already signed on to walk as well. You can go to Mark’s fundraising page to sponsor him, Mike’s fundraising page to sponsor him, or the Team MousePlanet page to join in and walk yourself! If you join us in walking, the money you raise will go to help babies in your area! Help us to provide a better chance to prevent prematurity and to help those babies that are born prematurely, because new parents should take their babies home from the hospital, not to the cemetery.
