Pooh soft opening – The Many Adventures of
Winnie the Pooh ride opened this past Tuesday in Critter Country, and
MousePlanet was there to provide you with a preview
photo tour. Michael J. Fox and family were there. Cast member
previews start this coming weekend, and Annual Passholder previews are
scheduled for next week.
Riders have two exits to choose from –
shop or squeeze.
Stores are not yet open. Exit from ride leads into shops,
or down very narrow fixed pathway between a cement planter and the overflow
queue for the ride.
A film shoot is set up in front of the
new Pooh ride.

Filming today – Production crews are taking
advantage of the beautiful spring weather to film commercials and more
inside the park. Imagineer Marty Sklar was in the park on Tuesday filming
a special for the Travel Channel. More filming took place outside the
new Pooh ride Tuesday morning, and around the Partner’s statue Wednesday
afternoon.
Soliton has moved two doors down.

Downtown Disney, for rent – Soliton, Downtown
Disney’s high–end sunglass shop, has moved in with Mainspring,
which sells watches and clocks. The two stores will operate from the same
storefront. The two stores are owned by the same company, which also operates
Liquid Planet and Petals in the Disneyland Resort’s shopping district.
The vacant Soliton space joins the former Tin Pan Alley location on the
“for rent” list.

entrance .

Painting in Adventureland – We told you that
the Disneyland painting crews have focused their attention the that park’s
west side in preparation for the Pirates of the Caribbean event. The entrance
to Adventureland got a touch–up last week when the tiki masks
were repainted.
Disney announces travel cancellation policies –
The following cancellation policy information regarding the Disneyland
Resort, Walt Disney World Resort and Disney Cruise Line is being provided
in an effort to help guests who may be apprehensive about their travel
plans.
Now through April 18, guests who have vacation packages to Disneyland
with an arrival prior to June 2 will be allowed to change or cancel their
land–based arrangements without penalty. The temporary policy
applies to new and existing bookings made through the Walt Disney Travel
Company, Disney Central Reservation Offices or online.
For those who have booked a Disneyland Resort room-only vacation, the
penalty will be waived for arrivals through April 21 if the room is canceled
before April 18.
Any deposit or full payment that has been submitted for package or room-only
vacations will be fully refunded, provided you change or cancel your vacation
before April 18. As a rule, Disney cannot waive cancellation penalties
for third–party products such as airline tickets, rental cars,
or non-Disney resorts. Have your travel agent check with those suppliers
directly to learn their separate cancellation policies.
A checkered flag for NASCAR fans – We told you
that AAA was offering its members a special package for travel to the
NASCAR Winston Cup 500. AAA has cancelled this package because of world
events.
Anyone who has booked the package is eligible for a full
refund, and all cancellation fees have been waived. Members are encouraged
to request the same travel agent who booked their original package for
them. If you don’t remember the agent’s name, the AAA office can look
the information up for you.
