Candy Cane Schedule & Holiday Treats
Disneyland is well known for its holiday season celebrations, including special fireworks, lighting displays, and snowfall, but with the holiday season also comes special foods and treats. And one of the most anticipated holiday treats? Handmade candy canes. Each year, the Disneyland Resort confectionery team handcrafts large candy canes in the Candy Palace kitchen on Main Street U.S.A.
Crowds gather around the kitchen windows to watch the team cook, pull, and shape these popular candy canes. To create traditional candy canes requires a specific set of conditions, most notably the temperature of the room. The kitchen is heated to around 100 degrees fahrenheit to keep the candy from cooling too rapidly while being shaped.

Last year, Disneyland created and sold the handmade candy canes only eight times throughout the holiday season. This year they will sell the candy canes over 20 days. Also for the first time, candymakers are making and selling the candy canes at Disney California Adventure park at the newly opened Trolley Treats on Buena Vista Street.
To purchase a candy cane, you need to be at the park at opening to obtain one of 120 wristbands handed out on a first-come basis. Each person can only obtain one wristband, which allows them to return later in the day to purchase one candy cane.

Candy makers are making these popular treats at the Candy Place in Disneyland park on Mondays and Fridays and at Trolley Treats in Disney California Adventure park on Tuesdays and Saturdays now through Christmas day, December 25. This year the cost is $12.99.
There are also special holiday treats and desserts around Disneyland that are much easier to obtain. The Jingle Jangle Jamboree, located in the festival area along Big Thunder Trail, has a collection of holiday games, entertainment, and treats. The menu includes Christmas cookies, candy cane cotton candy and Merry Monte Cristo Bites. You can also warm up with Sleigh Ride Hot Cider and Ho-Ho-Hot Chocolate. The popular Yule Log dessert cake is also back, and are available at the Plaza Inn at Disneyland.

Meet Santa Claus at the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort
Guests and visitors of the Disneyland Hotels can meet Santa Claus and have their photograph taken by Disney's Photopass photographers now through December 24, 2012.

Santa Claus is available at all three Disneyland Resort hotels at specific times of the day.

Cars Land Shop Expanded
Ramone's House of Body Art, a retail space in Cars Land at Disney California Adventure, has expanded. The expansion makes use of the original Radiator Springs Racers Fastpass location. Since the June 15, 2012 opening of Cars Land, Radiator Springs Racers has used a Fastpass location located outside of Cars Land near the entrance of “a bug's land.” Using this location helps to ease crowd flow, which is especially true during the morning hours when the line to obtain a Radiator Springs Racers Fastpass can extend onto Buena Vista Street and even into Hollywood Land. The original Fastpass location was designed to look like a garage, and briefly became a stroller parking area following the removal of the unused Fastpass machines this past fall.
The expanded portion of Ramone's House of Body Art, officially known as Lube-O-Rama, retains most of the garage look from before. The shop is accessible from the large garage doors near Radiator Springs Racers or by a small door inside of Ramone's House of Body Art and carries Cars Land apparel and gifts similar to those found at Ramone's.

Also, on Saturday, December 8, John Lasseter, Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation and car designer Chip Foose, will be on hand to promote and sign new merchandise and artwork. The event happens at Ramone's House of Body Art in Cars Land from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Special Disneyland Ticket Offer
Disneyland has announced a post-holiday ticket special. The promotion is for three-, four- and five-day park-hopper tickets that include Magic Morning, a perk allowing guests early admission into selected attractions at Disneyland. The park-hopper tickets are discounted by $30, the typical cost to upgrade a single park ticket to a park hopper, and are valid for visits from January 7 through March 11, 2013. Tickets must be purchased between November 20, 2012 and February 27, 2013. Prices for these promotional park-hoppers with Magic Morning are:
- 3-Day ticket – $220 ($205 for children ages 3 to 9
- 4-Day ticket – $245 ($225 for children ages 3 to 9)
- 5-Day ticket – $260 ($240 for children ages 3 to 9)

…Disney is running special “Cyber Monday” deals this morning, Monday, November 26. The deals are on the Disney Parks online store and include 15 percent off purchases of $50, 20 percent off purchases of $75, and 25 percent off purchases of $100. …Disneyland has launched a online holiday e-card maker. The Merrier Card Maker allows you to create personalized holiday e-cards with a Disneyland or Disney California Adventure touch. Once your card is created, you can watch classic Disney characters help preview your card (that is, as long as Goofy doesn't break your card).

Note: Not all of these have been officially confirmed by Disney, and are all subject to change at any time. We recommend checking for updates as you plan your visit.
Disneyland
- Plaza Gardens – closed until January 2014 for the construction of the new Fantasy Faire.
- Princess Fantasy Faire/Fantasyland Theater – closed until Summer 2013 for refurbishment of the Fantasyland Theater. The Princess meet-and-greet is relocated to the terrace near “it's a small world” until the new Fantasy Faire opens.
- Troubadour Treats – closed until Summer 2013 for refurbishment of the Fantasyland Theater. An internal document lists May 23 as the reopening date, but this may just be a placeholder.
- Indiana Jones Adventure – closed until December 7 for refurbishment.
- Haunted Mansion – closed January 7–17, 2013 for removal of Haunted Mansion Holiday.
- Primeval World – closed January 7–23, 2013 for refurbishment, will not effect the operation of the Disneyland Railroad.

- Grad Nite events – this party for high school seniors graduating in 2013 will be held on 22 dates in 2013: May 9, 10, 11, 15, 16, 17, 18, 22, 23, 24, 29, 30, 31; June 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21. The 2013 event includes admission to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure during regular operating hours, and a private party in Disneyland after the park closes to the public for the night.
- D23 Expo – August 9–11. Tickets for the three-day convention are now on sale.
We also recommend checking the convention calendar at the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor and Convention Bureau website. When looking at that site, remember to note both the number of people and the number of rooms resulting from each convention. A gathering of 25,000 people booking few room nights (indicating most will be driving in to the area for their meeting) can impact traffic around the resort much more than a crowd of 25,000 staying in area hotels. Of course, that second group is going to make finding a hotel room more difficult (and possibly more expensive), so it's best to book your own room as early as possible if you see that a big convention is in town during your trip.

Disney Visa – Cardholders have access to a private Character Meet 'N' Greet photo opportunity at Disney California Adventure, and receive one free 5×7 photograph per visit. Cardholders also receive 10% off qualifying merchandise purchases of $50 or more from Disney–operated retail stores, 10% off at selected Disneyland Resort restaurants, (Big Thunder Ranch, River Belle Terrace, French Market, Cocina Cucamonga, Steakhouse 55, PCH Grill and Storyteller's Café), and 20% off the “Welcome to Disneyland,” “A Walk in Walt's Footsteps,” and “Discover the Magic” guided tours. Landry's Select Club – Members of the Landry's Select Club get priority seating at the Rainforest Cafe when available (which makes a huge difference on busy days), and a 10% discount on retail purchases. This club replaces the former Rainforest Cafe Safari Club as of March 31, 2012. If you are already a Safari Club member, you can migrate your membership to the new Landry's Select Club at no charge, and start to earn points in the new program. The new Select Club eliminated the entree discount and free appetizer offer that was included with the Safari Club, replacing them with a point-based system that gives you a $25 gift certificate after you spend $250. If you are not yet a member of either the Safari Club or the Landry's Select Club, you can pre-purchase your membership before your trip. Membership now costs $25, but comes with a $25 reward.
ESPNZone MVP Club – Membership in the MVP Club does not offer any discounts on food. However, once a member you can make an online reservation for your party up to three days in advance and will get a 25% increase in points purchased when playing games in the Sports Arena (and 40 bonus points at activation). You must register online and your membership card will then be mailed to you within two weeks. The card must then be activated at any ESPNZone by the person who signed up for the card and ID will be required (link).
