Official ways to buy sold out Mickey's Halloween Party tickets
Now that Mickey's Halloween Party has sold out online for the entire run, people who waited too long are now entering the last-minute scramble to get tickets. Before you turn to Craigslist, StubHub or eBay (all of which bring with them the very high risk of being defrauded), here are three official ways you may still be able to buy legitimate party tickets directly from Disney:
- Call Disneyland and order tickets by phone – A limited number of tickets are still available for the 10/27 ($63) & 10/29 ($70) events. Call (714) 781-4636 to purchase by phone. There are no tickets available for any other nights, so please don't call and ask – they're already really busy. Expect to wait 10+ minutes on hold.
- Disneyland Resort Hotels – If you are a guest staying at one of the three Disney-owned hotels (Disneyland Hotel, Paradise Pier Hotel or Grand Californian Hotel), check with your hotel desk the morning of the event to see if they have tickets available for purchase. MousePlanet Community Leader Angela told us that a small number of tickets are reserved for Disneyland Resort Hotel guests, and are released for sale at 5:30 a.m. the morning of each party. Officially these tickets are intended only for concierge-level guests, but we've heard conflicting stories about that, and it seems some guests in standard rooms have been allowed to buy the tickets as well. If you're already staying on property, it does not hurt to ask. Angela warns that these tickets sell out very quickly, so don't wait until the party starts to try to make your purchase.
- Friends or family – If friends/family already have tickets, they may be able to purchase additional tickets the day of the party. Again, a small number of tickets are reserved for same-day sales to help accommodate ticket holders who may have miscounted how many they need, or who had friends/family unexpectedly join them. As with the tickets reserved for hotel guests, these are very limited, and go on sale as soon as the ticket booths open in the morning. If at all possible, get there first thing in the morning to increase your chance of getting tickets. You must have the other event tickets with you—the cast member needs to see them, and can't just trust your word that so-and-so already has tickets.
Knowledgeable party goers can trick-or-treat through Toontown before the event officially begins, but the exclusive pre-party is not listed on the event map. Photo by Adrienne Vincent-Phoenix.
Before you go, be sure to read our tips for getting the most out of your Mickey's Halloween party experience. Due to limited capacity, some of the activities we wrote about, including the pre-parties in Toontown and Big Thunder Ranch, are not on the official event map. Know before you go, and you'll have a great time.
Disneyland Resort names 2015–2016 Ambassador Team
The Disneyland Resort last week celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Ambassador program, and named Jessica Bernard and Allie Kawamoto as the 2015–2016 Ambassador team.

Nearly 50 former Disneyland Ambassadors, including the park's first Ambassador, Julie Reihm Casaletto, attended the ceremony in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle Friday morning. Reihm Casaletto, escorted to the stage by Mickey Mouse, spoke briefly about her memories of working with Walt Disney. Following her remarks, Disneyland Resort president Michael Colglazier then introduced the four finalists, chosen from a pool of nearly 60 applicants from across the Disneyland Resort.

Friends, family and fellow cast members in the audience cheered as each finalist took the stage to share her favorite memory of working at the Disneyland Resort. The 2013–2014 Ambassador team, Sachiko White and Megan Navarette, then spoke about their favorite memories from their Ambassador term, which ends December 31.
Following the announcement, Bernard and Kawamoto immediately assumed their new roles as Ambassador trainees, posing for media photos and giving an interview for Cast TV before participating in a cavalcade down Main Street, U.S.A. The duo made their first official appearance Sunday morning at the CHOC Walk, and next month will participate in a two-week Global Ambassador Training with their counterparts from Disney parks around the world.

Allie Kawamoto began her Disney career in 2007, when she won the Disney Dream Jobs competition and performed in the High School Musical Pep Rally at Disney California Adventure. Kawamoto most recently worked as a food and beverage manager at Disneyland. Jessica Bernard is an entertainment cast member and has worked for Disney since 2010. She was most recently cast in Mickey and the Magical Map. Both Ambassadors are active in volunteer organizations within and independent of Disney.
As Disneyland Resort Ambassadors, the pair will serve during Disneyland's 60th anniversary celebration, and will represent the Resort at charity events, community functions and cast member activities.

Fourth night free, plus free breakfast at Aulani, Disney Resort & Spa in Hawaii

This and that…
…We mentioned last week that Dine Line cast members were telling callers that reservations for the Blue Bayou, Cafe Orleans, and Big Thunder Ranch BBQ were “on hold” for December due to pending refurbishments. Disney has since opened reservations for all three restaurants through December 12 as of this writing, so those looking for dinner reservations during Candlelight Processional weekend should make their reservations as soon as possible before the restaurants fill up.
…Disney has increased the age restriction at the newly-opened Anna & Elsa's Boutique in Downtown Disney, and will now offer makeover packages for children age 3 through 15. When the boutique opened last week, services were available only to guests ages 3 through 12, leaving teenage Frozen fans out in the cold.

…Two Coca-Cola Freestyle dispensers were installed at White Water Snacks at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel during the recent renovation, replacing the traditional soda fountains. The touch-screen kiosks allow customers to choose from over 100 soft drinks, including combinations not available at retail like raspberry Coke, grape-spiked lemonade, and peach Sprite Zero. Disney debuted Freestyle machines at the 2010 Food & Wine Festival in DCA, but these two machines are the first permanent installations in a public restaurant at the Resort.
…Disneyland's First Aid center and the Wish Lounge have reopened in their new locations at the end of Main Street, U.S.A., following temporary relocation due to construction of a backstage corridor between Town Square and Town Plaza. The Main Street Lockers reopen on October 31.

…The MousePlanet Newsletter is here! The newsletter contains a recap of the week's articles (in case you miss a day), news that may have developed since the weekly Updates were published, and tips about what's happening at the Disney theme parks for the coming weekend. We'll also include a fun MouseAdventure bonus, such as an Eye Spy or a trivia question. To subscribe to our free newsletter, just enter your e-mail in the box below.

Fall
- Mickey's Halloween Party – October 8, 10, 14, 17, 20, 22, 24, 27, 29 and 31. All events are sold out as of press time.
- Utah Education Association convention (UEA, a.k.a. “Utah Escapes to Anaheim”) – October 16–17. Expect unusually large attendance levels October 17–21 as Utah students and families take advantage of a 4-day weekend created by their school's participation in a state education convention. Not all Utah schools or teachers close for or attend UEA, but the impact on the Resort is usually noticeable enough to mention.
- MouseAdventure Sugar Rush – Sunday, October 26. Registration is now open at MouseAdventure.com.
- Halloween Time – through October 31.
- Avengers Super Heroes Half Marathon Weekend – November 14–16. All events are sold out. Details at the runDisney website.

- 2015 Avengers Half Marathon Weekend – November 12–15. Registration opens April 7, 2015
2016
- 2016 Star Wars Half Marathon Weekend – January 14-17. Registration opens June 16, 2015.
- 2016 Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend – May 5–8. Registration opens August 11, 2015.
We also recommend checking the convention calendar at the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor and Convention Bureau website. When looking at that site, remember to note both the number of people and the number of rooms resulting from each convention. A gathering of 25,000 people booking few room nights (indicating most will be driving in to the area for their meeting) can impact traffic around the resort much more than a crowd of 25,000 staying in area hotels. Of course, that second group is going to make finding a hotel room more difficult (and possibly more expensive), so it's best to book your own room as early as possible if you see that a big convention is in town during your trip.
Current Discounts & Promotions
Disneyland prices as of May 2014.
Note: MousePlanet does not edit past Updates to reflect price increases; for up-to-date prices, check the most recent Disneyland Resort Update. Several current promotions offer discounted admission to the Disneyland Resort. For your convenience, we have grouped the discount offers based on the number of days the tickets are valid. Check out the category that best matches the amount of time you plan to spend at the resort, and pick the offer that works best for you. And keep those tips coming—let us know if you find a better or different offer, so we can share it with other readers!
This first section is a list of discounts on ticket-only purchases. Though it has become more common in recent years, Disneyland tickets are rarely offered at deep discounts unless you are a resident of Southern California or Northern Mexico. For residents outside that area, the best discounts available tend to be simple advance purchase discounts. If you know of any additional discounts, offers, promotions, or contests that should be listed in this section, drop us a line. Note, we are no longer listing offers from the Anaheim-Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau, as their convenience fee negates any savings.
Don't get scammed! Never buy tickets from an unofficial or secondary outlet, such as through eBay or Craigslist. Never rent or purchase tickets from people approaching you outside the gates stating they have remaining days or leftover tickets. This practice is against the terms of use for Disneyland admission, and may result in denial of entry. It is also common for criminals to shoplift inactivated Disney theme park tickets from supermarkets to resell them. There is no way to determine if these tickets are valid until you try to use them to enter the parks. Only purchase Disney theme park tickets directly from Disney, an authorized seller, or travel agency.

2014–2015 Disney Military Promotional 3–Day Park Hopper Ticket ($132) |
A discounted price offered to Eligible Service Members or their spouses. The 2014–2015 U.S. Armed Forces discount is valid through October 3, 2015. Under this program, active and retired U.S. military personnel can purchase Disney Military Promotional 3-Day Park Hopper Tickets for $132 each. For the purpose of this offer, Disney defines “Eligible Service Members” as active or retired members of the U.S. military, including the National Guard, Reservists, and the U.S. Coast Guard. Valid military identification will be required for purchase. This discount is available at MWR/ITT offices at your military base or other at participating U.S. military sales outlets. The tickets are not available for sale at the Disneyland Resort ticket booths. The price is the same for adults and children, and total of six tickets may be purchased per military member, regardless of who purchases the tickets (the member or their spouse). Disney has also clarified that the “Military member (or spouse) must accompany the persons using these tickets for Theme Park admission,” which means you can not purchase these tickets and give them to someone who will be visiting without you present. Tickets are blocked out November 27–29, 2014; December 24–31, 2014; and March 30 through April 4, 2015 . Unlike past years, this ticket is not blocked out on the 4th of July. As far as we can tell, there is no “fuse” on this ticket, so you may have more than the standard 13 days from first use to use the remaining two admissions, but we highly recommend you contact your base MWR/ITT office for more details before making travel plans. Please note that this ticket is not a “bonus” ticket, and so does not include an early admission day. For complete information regarding Disney Military Promotional 3-Day Park Hopper Tickets and discounted resort rates, military personnel may visit the Disneyland Resort website, or participating U.S. military base ticket offices. |

This club replaces the former Rainforest Cafe Safari Club, and now runs on a point-based system that gives you a $25 gift certificate after you spend $250. Membership now costs $25, but comes with a $25 reward. We recommend that you prepurchase your membership before your visit so you can take advantage of the priority seating benefit. ESPNZone MVP Club – membership in the MVP Club does not offer any discounts on food. However, once a member you can make an online reservation for your party up to three days in advance and will get a 25 percent increase in points purchased when playing games in the Sports Arena (and 40 bonus points at activation). You must register online and your membership card will then be mailed to you within two weeks. The card must then be activated at any ESPNZone by the person who signed up for the card and ID will be required (link). Visit our Annual Passholders Blockout Dates page to see more dates. You can see future calendar schedules at Disneyland. As always, specifics are subject to change without notice (or occasionally, without us noticing) so when information conflicts between what is presented here and that presented by Disney, it is best to assume Disney's information is correct. Visit the Park Hours section of our Disneyland Park guide for additional details about Magic Morning and Toontown Morning Madness, including available attractions.
