Tickets for the 2025 Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nites events go on sale this week. The after-hours events take place April 8, 10, 22, 24 and 29, and May 1, 4 and 6, 2025.
A limited number of tickets will be available for presale on Tuesday, January 28 to Inspire Magic Key holders. A pre-sale for all Magic Key holders takes place on Wednesday, January 29, and the general sale begins Thursday, January 30.
For all dates, tickets will be available no earlier than 9:00 a.m. Pacific time va the DIsneyland website. Disney has not yet announced pricing for the 2025 event.
The popular annual events are a great opportunity for Star Wars fans to dress up and enjoy Disneyland with like-minded visitors. The events also include special meet-and-greet opportunities with Star Wars characters not often found in the parks, special event merchandise food offerings, and themed entertainment including a costume Cavalcade.
It’s RunDisney race weekend
RunDisney is back in town. The events of the 2025 Disneyland Half Marathon weekend begin this Thursday, January 30 and continue through Sunday, February 2.
The events draw tens of thousands of runners, walkers, friends, and family to the Disneyland Resort, and include road closures and operational changes that could impact anyone visiting the Anaheim Resort area this weekend. This year’ a “new” half marathon course is much different than the past two races, which may cause some traffic confusion Sunday morning. Here’s what runners, visitors, and spectators should know as we head into this busy weekend.
Disneyland Resort Hotel guests
Staying at the Disneyland Hotel? The race expo takes place in that hotel’s convention center Thursday through Saturday, so expect extra crowds at the shops and restaurants.
If you’re staying at the Grand Californian Hotel in a theme park view room, especially one facing Pixar Pier, expect to hear race-related activities between 4:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. on Friday, January 30, as the finish line for the Disneyland 5K is located in Pixar Pier. Finish line announcements will likely be audible from theme park view rooms. Participants and spectators will also be making their way from the Mickey and Friends parking structure as early as 3:30 a.m., and back again after the race.
This year’s 10K and half marathon races again avoid Disneyland Drive and Downtown Disney entirely, so there will be less impact to Pixar Place or Disneyland Hotel guests than in the past. Both courses pass through Disney California Adventure for the first few miles, so again, guests with park view rooms at the Grand Californian hotel may be able to see or hear the runners starting around 5:00 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
If you are a runner or spectator staying at one of the three Disneyland Resort hotels, there are shuttles available on Saturday and Sunday to take you closer to the race start. Shuttles for registered guests from 3:15 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 1, 2025, and Feb. 2, 2024. You will need your room key to board the bus, marked, “runDisney Athletes & Spectators”
Local hotel guests
The Disneyland Resort is going to be very busy this weekend, which you may already know if you had a hard time finding a reasonably priced hotel room in the immediate area. Hotels closest to Disney Way and Harbor Blvd. will get the most of the pre- and post-race noise Saturday and Sunday mornings, as the start and finish lines for both Saturday’s 10K and Sunday’s half marathon are on Disney Way.
There are road closures planned for both Saturday and Sunday due to the race. If you plan to use the Anaheim Regional Transportation buses to get to the Resort, be sure to check with your hotel’s front desk for more information about possible route or schedule changes. ART buses will begin running early all three days due to the races to accommodate runners and spectators, but you’ll need to check the ART website for details for your specific route.
For those who plan to drive from their hotel and park in one of the resort lots, we recommend that you park in the Mickey and Friends parking structure, and avoid the Toy Story lot entirely unless arriving after 11:00 a.m..
For the 5K on Friday, January 30 spectator viewing is at the finish line only, inside Disney California Adventure park. You enter the park from 5:00 to 6:15 a.m. from Downtown Disney through the gate located between the World of Disney store and Earl of Sandwich.
Non-participants – parking and road closures
While all of the races take place before park opening or outside the parks, you may still experience traffic delays and extra crowds.
On Friday, 5K participants are directed to park at the Mickey & Friends parking structure, but because most participants will be completely done well before the parks open, entering the structure should be relatively easy for park visitors.
If you’re driving to the Disneyland Resort on Saturday or Sunday to visit the theme parks, be sure to pay attention to road closures. Runners and spectators are directed to park in the Toy Story parking lot this weekend, and there are road closures starting at 4:00 a.m. and running as late as Noon on some local streets due to the race.
We recommend that you park in the Mickey and Friends parking structure, and avoid the Toy Story lot entirely unless arriving after 11:00 a.m..
Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure open at 8:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday, Disney California Adventure opens at 8:00 a.m. and Disneyland at 9:00 a.m. Early park entry for hotel guests is offered at Disneyland on Friday, January 30 instead of Disney California Adventure due to the race.
Spectators
Spectator viewing areas are very different from the last race, and vary per race.
For the 10K on Saturday, February 1, spectator viewing is available on the course along Harbor Boulevard and Katella Avenue, as well as in the esplanade between the theme parks, and at the finish line (see the course map for specifics).
The same viewing areas are available to spectators on Sunday, and because the majority of the half marathon race takes place on city streets in Anaheim and Garden Grove, there is ample opportunity to view your runner along the route. Be sure to consult the road closures map above so you can get to and from your preferred spot.
Disney shared the following tips for spectators:
• Use bright paper for signs to help athletes see them in low light.
• Know your athlete’s pace to time your arrival at the viewing location.
• Identify your athlete by their outfit.
• Do not hand out food or drinks to athletes on the race course.
Participants
We’re going to refer you back to the official runDisney handbook for details of your various events, because so much changed since the last race. Please don’t rely on your hazy memory of the last time you ran through Sleeping Beauty Castle—read the guide so you know where to park each day (it changes!), where the start line is for each race (it changes!), and when you need to be where.
Keep in mind that you are required to attend the runDisney Expo at the Disneyland Hotel before your first race in order to pick up your race bib. Expo hours are:
- Thursday, January 11, 2024, 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- Friday, January 12, 2024, noon to 8:00 p.m.
- Saturday, January 13, 2024, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Good luck to all of the rollers, walkers and runners participating this weekend!
Updates and additions planned at all three Disneyland Resort Hotels
The Disney Parks Blog last week announced some updated and additions planned for all three Disneyland Resort hotels, and we have even more idetails and information to to help you plan your visits.
Disney Grand Californian Hotel
First up, Disney announced an update to all guests rooms at the Grand Californian Hotel, to include the Disney Vacation Club Villas. Based on the permits filed so far, this looks like it will only be a refresh of the room decor and soft-goods (bedding, towels), and not a complete room remodel. However, there will be some extensive work going on elsewhere around the property which may impact your next stay.
Disney announced that Napa Rose will be remodeled, and that the restaurant will close sometime in spring to complete this work. At press time, the restaurant appears to be open through the end of March; later dates haven’t been released on the calendar. This closure will also impact the Disney Princess breakfast offering at the location.
When Napa Rose reopens in fall 2025, the restaurant will have new interior and an updated patio, new expanded seating at the very popular Chef’s Counter, and a new seasonal menu. However, Disney assured fans that certain favorite dishes, including the Smiling Tiger Salad, will return.
What wasn’t mentioned was that Storytellers Cafe will also close starting March 3rd for a remodel which is expected to last a few weeks. Permits filed with the city of Anaheim show the restaurant is adding two additional buffet stations during the renovation.
While Storytellers Cafe is closed, Hearthstone Lounge will expand lunch service to 7 days per week with a limited menu. The lobby restaurant will also offer a new daily breakfast buffet exclusively for guests staying at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. The buffet is offered 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. daily.
Of course, the Grand Californian also has the GCH Craftsman Grill, with breakfast, lunch and dinner available daily.
A two-story concierge lounge is planned for the hotel, and should open in 2026. Disney says the lounge will be on the 5th and 6th floors of the hotel, and overlook the grand lobby. Permits show there will also be construction in the main lobby to convert existing offices into additional luggage storage.
Disneyland Hotel
This summer the Disneyland Hotel will also debut a new concierge lounge. The High Key Club is a new offering in the Adventure Tower. Disney says the new lounge is “A tribute to the music and sounds of Disneyland circa 1955,” and “will feature a custom soundtrack and prominent artifacts in a mid-century modern aesthetic.”
The new club joins the existing E-Ticket Club in the Adventure Tower, giving club-level guests, who pay a premium for the extra amenities, a choice of two exclusive locations from which to watch the Disneyland fireworks.
Construction of the High Key Club is impacting the E-Ticket Club in the Adventure Tower, and that lounge is currently closed for refurbishment. During construction, club-level guests have access to a temporary Concierge lounge located on the lobby level of the Frontier Tower.
Pixar Place Hotel
Disneyland’s third hotel is expanding its offering of themed suites this summer, introducing two new two-bedroom suites. One suite is themed to “Coco,” and the second to “The Incredibles.”
The “Coco” suite will be decorated in terracotta tiles, hand made wooden furniture and woven decor, and will feature a fireplace. Disney says the “Incredibles” suite will feature some really fun elements, including a hand print “scanner” at the entry and “special effects including a spy phone, hidden messages, a secret door and other surprises!”
Disney has not released pricing, but the new rooms will likely be on par with the existing Signature Suites at the hotel, which can run up to $4000 per night.
New stores debut in Downtown Disney
One new and one renovated retail shop opened last week in Downtown Disney, and the district commemorated the official grand opening of the new Parkside Marketplace.
Brand new to Downtown Disney is the Disney Storyland Boutique, which takes the space of the former Wonderground Gallery. Based on Disney’s description of the store, the theme will change periodically to showcase new collections or merchandise trends. The current theme is “all things cute and adorable,” with an emphasis on plush characters like Stitch, Tigger and more.
Reopening after an extensive remodel is Marceline’s Confectionery, now known as Disney Wonderful World of Sweets. The store is larger than ever, having taken over the neighboring Disney Dress Shop, and now offers fresh-made Werther’s Original Caramel popcorn. With the change in name comes also an introduction of a brand-new collection of Disney-created characters who appear on everything from product packaging to actual food items like cake pops and candy apples.
I visited the Parkside Market food hall during its soft opening earlier this month, and came away impressed with the food offerings from the two new eateries, Seoul Sister and GG’s Chicken Shop, as well as the beverages offered at Sip & Sonder. Upstairs, the Vista Parkside Market offers diners the opportunity to order from the menus of all three first-floor restaurants, as well as from an extensive cocktail menu.
Thomas Mazloum named new Disneyland Resort President
Thomas Mazloum was named the new president of the Disneyland Resort last week in a global corporate restructuring which sees former Disneyland Resort president Ken Potrock step into a newly-created position as president of The Walt Disney Company Major Events Integration.
Prior to his appointment to the Disneyland Resort, Mazloum was president of Disney Signature Experiences, overseeing a large portfolio of Disney divisions which include the Disney Cruise Line, Disney Vacation Club and Adventures by Disney.
In a press release, Mazloum said, “With the launch of the 70th Anniversary celebration later this year, the addition of new experiences underway and the opportunities for growth, there couldn’t be a more thrilling time to take on this role,” said Mazloum. “I am honored to be asked to lead the incredible Disneyland Resort team and remain committed to upholding the culture and legacy of Walt’s first park, while building the future.”

- Candlelight Processional – December 5 & 6. (Most likely dates, but still unconfirmed)
We also recommend checking the convention calendar at the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor and Convention Bureau website. When looking at that site, remember to note both the number of people and the number of rooms resulting from each convention. A gathering of 25,000 people booking few room nights (indicating most will be driving in to the area for their meeting) can impact traffic around the resort much more than a crowd of 25,000 staying in area hotels. Of course, that second group is going to make finding a hotel room more difficult (and possibly more expensive), so it’s best to book your own room as early as possible if you see that a big convention is in town during your trip.
Tickets, Discounts and Promotions
Disneyland prices as of October 9, 2024.
Note: MousePlanet does not edit past Updates to reflect price increases; for up-to-date prices, check the most recent Disneyland Resort Update. Several current promotions offer discounted admission to the Disneyland Resort. For your convenience, we have grouped the discount offers based on the number of days the tickets are valid. Check out the category that best matches the amount of time you plan to spend at the resort, and pick the offer that works best for you. And keep those tips coming—let us know if you find a better or different offer, so we can share it with other readers!
This first section is a list of discounts on ticket-only purchases. Though it has become more common in recent years, Disneyland tickets are rarely offered at deep discounts unless you are a resident of Southern California or Northern Mexico. For residents outside that area, the best discounts available tend to be simple advance purchase discounts. If you know of any additional discounts, offers, promotions, or contests that should be listed in this section, drop us a line. Note, we are no longer listing offers from the Anaheim-Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau, as their convenience fee negates any savings.
Don’t get scammed! Never buy tickets from an unofficial or secondary outlet, such as through eBay or Craigslist. Never rent or purchase tickets from people approaching you outside the gates stating they have remaining days or leftover tickets. This practice is against the terms of use for Disneyland admission, and may result in denial of entry. It is also common for criminals to shoplift inactivated Disney theme park tickets from supermarkets to resell them. There is no way to determine if these tickets are valid until you try to use them to enter the parks. Only purchase Disney theme park tickets directly from Disney, an authorized seller, or travel agency like MousePlanet travel partner Get Away Today.
One Day Tickets
Ticket & Season | Adult One-Park | Child (3–9) One-Park | Park Hopper Add-On |
---|---|---|---|
One Day – Tier 0 | $104 | $98 | $65 |
One Day – Tier 1 | $126 | $116 | $65 |
One Day – Tier 2 | $142 | $132 | $65 |
One Day – Tier 3 | $164 | $146 | $70 |
One Day – Tier 4 | $180 | $170 | $70 |
One Day – Tier 5 | $196 | $186 | $75 |
One Day – Tier 6 | $206 | $196 | $75 |
- Lightning Lane Multi Pass Add-On – $32 per day, per ticket when purchased in advance. Demand-based pricing applies to same-day purchases, starting at $33 per ticket.
- Lightning Lane Premier Pass Add-On – $400 per day, per ticket
Check the Disneyland website to see what type of ticket you need for the day you plan to visit. Seasonal pricing applies only to one-day tickets.
Book now here at Get Away Today or call 1-855-GET-AWAY, and be sure to mention you saw them on MousePlanet.
Kids Special Offer Ticket
This popular ticket is valid for visits between January 7 and March 20, 2025. You can purchase 1-, 2- or 3-day park tickets, and add on optional Park Hopper and/or Lightning Lane Multi Pass service upgrades.
These tickets start at $50 per day. In comparison, the current price for 1-day, 1-park child ticket can range from $98 for a “Tier 0,” to $194 for “Tier 6.” A fully-loaded 3-day park hopper ticket with the Lightning Lane Multi Pass add-on runs $336 with this offer, compared to the current price of $365 for just the ticket alone. That said, the cost of the add-ons really cuts into the value of these tickets. If you have the ability to spend more days, skip the add-ons and just enjoy a longer visit.
Ticket Duration and Type | One Park Per Day | Park Hopper add on | Lightning Lane Multi Pass Add On |
One Day | $50 | $45 | $32 |
Two Day | $100 | $85 | $64 |
Three Day | $150 | $90 | $96 |
Read the fine print carefully, because you need to make a theme park reservation to use this ticket, and Disney will set aside only a limited number of reservations for this ticket type each day. As with the prior offer, the terms state, “reservation availability for Kids’ Special Offer Ticket holders is not guaranteed for any date, and reservations may be difficult to get for any particular date, especially as the ticket expiration date approaches.”
In addition to requiring a theme park reservation, this ticket also has a “fuse”—which means multi-day tickets expire 13 days after the first day of use (or on March 20, 2025, whichever comes first). You won’t need to use all two or three days consecutively, but you will need to make sure to use them all before they expire. From past experience, it will be difficult to get reservations the last week of this offer unless you plan well in advance.

SoCal Resident 3-Day Ticket Offer
Southern California residents can visit the Disneyland Resort theme parks three days between January 1 and May 15, 2025 for as little as $199.
There are four versions of the Special Southern California Resident Ticket, starting at $199:
- 3-day, 1 park per day ticket – $199 per person
- 3-day Park Hopper ticket – $289 per person
- 3-day, 1 park per day ticket with Lightning Lane Multi Pass – $295 per person
- 3-day, Park Hopper ticket with Lightning Lane Multi Pass – $385 per person
Unlike the 2024 offer, the base version of this ticket is valid 7 days a week, not just weekdays. Even better, the January 1st start date means many visitors can use this ticket to catch the last few days of this year’s Holidays at the Disneyland Resort festivities and the Festival of Holidays before they end on January 6.
The fine print of these offers changes slightly each season, so be sure to pay close attention to details before you purchase to get the most value for your money. We note that residents of Northern Baja California are again excluded from this offer.
There is no “fuse” on this ticket, which means that you can use the first admission on January 1 and wait until May 15 to use the remaining admission. However, remember that you must make a theme park reservation for each day that you want to use the ticket. Disney also warns that ticket sales may be paused or ended at any time, so it’s probably best to purchase early so you’re ready to make reservations as soon as they open for your desired travel dates. Reservations can now be made up to 180 days in advance, which as of press time includes the entire duration of this offer.
Disney states that proof of residency is required for purchase and admission, and each resident can purchase up to five tickets per day.

Purchase with purchase offers – Disneyland Resort shops frequently offer a reduced-price souvenir (often a tote bag, watch, or blanket) with a qualifying minimum purchase. These are offered at Disney-operated stores only, and selection may vary by location.
Disney usually allows customers to purchase more than one of the offers in a qualifying transaction, so if you spend $40 or more you can buy both items currently available if you wish. If you’re a passholder, the minimum purchase is calculated after your discount, and your discount does not apply to the promotional item.

Military discounts are valid for stays most nights from January 1 through December 27, 2025. You can book now through December 23, 2025, and travel must be completed by December 28, 2024.
Disney does not publish the actual discounted rates, and instead asks eligible U.S. military personnel to call (800) 453-4911 to check pricing, availability and to make reservations. In past years, the offer was generally 30% to 40% off, based on room category. Concierge rooms, Signature or Premium suites, or 2-or 3-Bedroom Villas are excluded from the offer, and this offer can not be combined with any other discount.
Unlike the Walt Disney World version, the Disneyland offer allows the eligible service member to book up to two rooms, and allows their spouse (with valid and proper ID) to qualify in the absence of the service member.
