3-Day Disneyland Ticket Offer begins today
Today is the first day that the 3-Day Disneyland Ticket Offer is valid. This summer offer is a 3-day, 1-park-per-day ticket that offers admission to either Disneyland or Disney California Adventure, and comes in two versions:
- The weekday ticket – starting at $149 for ages 3-9; $249 for ages 10 and older. Three weekdays (Mondays through Thursdays only) between June 10 and September 26, 2024
- The any day ticket – starting at $199 for ages 3-9; $299, for ages 10 and older. Three days (any day of the week, including weekends) between June 10 and September 26, 2024
You can use every day of the 3-Day Disneyland Ticket at the same theme park, or visit different parks on different days, but you can’t use it to enter both parks on the same day unless you add the park-hopper option ($70 per ticket)
There is no “fuse” on this ticket, which means that you can use the first admission this week and wait until September 26 to use the remaining admission. However, remember that you must make a theme park reservation for each day that you want to use the ticket. Disney also warns that reservations for this category of ticket are not guaranteed for any particular dates, and that a date may sell out in this ticket category though other ticket types have reservations of available. It is probably best to purchase early and make reservations as soon as they open for your desired travel dates. Each day of use constitutes one full day of use.
Tickets expire on September 26, 2024, and have no holiday blackouts. That means that you can visit on the 4th of July holiday using a weekday ticket, assuming reservations are available.
Customers can purchase up to 15 tickets per eligible person per day. Tickets are nonrefundable, may not be sold or transferred for commercial use and exclude activities/events separately priced. Magic Key sales halted
Just when it looked like Disneyland Magic Keys would be continuously available, Disney last week halted sales of new annual passes. Existing Magic Key holders can still renew their pass prior to its expiration date.
Magic Key sales resumed March 5, 2024, and with the exception of the lowest-priced pass had been available since then. This was a marked contrast to past sales opportunities, where the number of available passes sold out in a matter of days or even hours. Some speculated that the quantity of passes available after March 5 was an indication that a large number of Magic Key holders opted not to renew their passes during the peak holiday purchase and renewal window.
Club Pixar scaled back
While Pixar Fest is still going strong at the Disneyland Resort, one element of the festival has been scaled back from opening night. The DJ and live performers at Club Pixar in Disney California Adventures were given their end-of-run notice, dramatically curbing the already-weak appeal of what Disney billed as a “interactive DJ dance party” with “music, dancing and more.”
Still open are the Studio Catering Company food truck and the Hollywood Lounge bar, where customers can purchase Pixar-themed snacks and drinks. Also available from 4:30 – 8:30 p.m. nightly is the Shorts Stop drive-in theater featuring Pixar animated shorts, and a small area where visitors can play Pixar-themed games.
Missing is the live DJ, and the dancers who performed interpretive dance segments on the Backlot Stage. As I wrote when Pixar Fest first opened, “Disneyland regulars have longed for a worthy sucessor to the beloved Mad T Party, and this event is not it.” Fans had high hopes, but Pixar Fest was just too juvenile for the ElecTRONica crowd, and too late at night for kids.
As currently scheduled, the scaled-down Club Pixar will remain open through the end of Pixar Fest in August.
Dr. Strange show to end
The “Doctor Strange: Mysteries of the Mystic Arts” show in Disney California Adventure will have its final performance on June 30, Disney confirmed last week. The show opened with Avengers Campus in June, 2001, with Dr. Strange appearing in person at the Ancient Sanctum to demonstrate the “mystic arts,” often with the help of a guest Avenger. Disney has not indicated if another show will replace this.
D23 badge transfers now open
D23 members who were able to purchase tickets for the 2024 D23: The Ultimate Fan Event when they went on sale in March now have the ability to transfer badges to other members of their party.
Members could purchase up to 8 tickets for the 2024 event, allowing them to ensure friends and family would have admission, but they were all reserved in the member’s name. Disney has now opened up the process for assigning those badges to specific people, so they can manage their own event experience, including entering the Random Selection Process for panels, presentations and experiences during the August event.
To transfer a badge, the recipient must have a valid D23 members, either at the General (free) or Gold (paid) level. The purchaser will log into the D23 website using the same D23 member login used to purchase the tickets, and then enter the email assodicated with the D23 member to whom they wish to transfer the tickets. A step-by-step guide for making this transfer is available on the D23 website.
One note: Disney says all badge transfers must take place prior to 8:59 p.m. PT on Wednesday, July 3 2024, and the email sent to buyers cautions, “After this time, badges will no longer be transferable—there will be NO exceptions.”
Disneyland cast member dies in backstage accident
A 24-year veteran Disneyland cast member died last week from injuries suffered during a backstage traffic accident , the resort confirmed on Saturday. Bonnye Lear was a membership services manager at Disneyland’s Club 33. She reportedly fell from a moving golf cart being driven backstage behind Critter Country on Wednesday morning, and struck her head. Lear was transported to a local hospital, where she died on Friday. The Orange County Register reports that Anaheim police department is investigating the accident.
In a statement, Disneyland Resort president Ken Potrock said,
“We are heartbroken by the loss of Bonnye, and offer our sincere condolences to everyone who cared for her. At this time, we are focused on supporting her family and our cast members through this tragic event and making sure they have the resources they need.”

…The refurbishment of the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail appears to have been extended. The area was scheduled to reopen on June 21, but the Disneyland website now shows the closure will run at least through July 21.
…A new meet and greet with Anger from “Inside Out” will begin on June 14 at Disney California Adventure, the same day that “Inside Out 2” is released in theaters. Look for Anger at the Pixar Pier Band Shell. A straw clip featuring the new character Anxiety will also be available at various locations at the Disneyland Resort starting the same day.

We also recommend checking the convention calendar at the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor and Convention Bureau website. When looking at that site, remember to note both the number of people and the number of rooms resulting from each convention. A gathering of 25,000 people booking few room nights (indicating most will be driving in to the area for their meeting) can impact traffic around the resort much more than a crowd of 25,000 staying in area hotels. Of course, that second group is going to make finding a hotel room more difficult (and possibly more expensive), so it’s best to book your own room as early as possible if you see that a big convention is in town during your trip.

Though it has become more common in recent years, Disneyland tickets are rarely offered at deep discounts unless you are a resident of Southern California or Northern Mexico. For residents outside that area, the best discounts available tend to be simple advance purchase discounts. Don’t get scammed! Never buy tickets from an unofficial or secondary outlet, such as through eBay or Craigslist. Never rent or purchase tickets from people approaching you outside the gates stating they have remaining days or leftover tickets. This practice is against the terms of use for Disneyland admission, and may result in denial of entry. It is also common for criminals to shoplift inactivated Disney theme park tickets from supermarkets to resell them. There is no way to determine if these tickets are valid until you try to use them to enter the parks. Visit the Disneyland Resort theme parks three weekdays between June 10 and September 26, 2024 for as little as $149 for ages 3-9, or $249 for ages 10 and older using a new discounted ticket which goes on sale May 29, 2024. 2024 Military Ticket discounts
Through December 10, 2024, active and retired U.S. military personnel (including active and retired members of the United States Coast Guard, National Guard and Reservists) or their spouses can purchase:
- 3-Day Military Promotional Park Hopper Ticket: $269
- 3-Day Military Promotional Park Hopper Ticket with Disney Genie+ Service: $359
- 4-Day Military Promotional Park Hopper Ticket: $315
- 4-Day Military Promotional Park Hopper Ticket with Disney Genie+ Service: $435
Disneyland tickets may be used January 2 through December 13, 2024. There is no blockout period for spring break this year.
Active and retired U.S. military personnel can purchase Disney Military Promotional Tickets for themselves and up to five additional family members or friends. No more than six Disney Military Promotional Tickets may be purchased by any eligible member of the U.S. military (or spouse) pursuant to this offer. All tickets and options are non-transferable and must be used by December 13, 2024.
This offer can only be purchased at a participating US military base ticket office.
2024 Military Hotel discounts
Military discounts are valid for stays most nights from January 2 through December 13, 2024. You can book now through December 10, 2024, and travel must be completed by December 14, 2024.
Disney does not publish the actual discounted rates, and instead asks eligible U.S. military personnel to call (833) 618-0536 to check pricing, availability and to make reservations. In past years, the offer was generally 30% to 40% off, based on room category. Concierge rooms, Signature or Premium suites, or 2-or 3-Bedroom Villas are excluded from the offer, and this offer can not be combined with any other discount.
Unlike the Walt Disney World version, the Disneyland offer allows the eligible service member to book up to two rooms, and allows their spouse (with valid and proper ID) to qualify in the absence of the service member, provided the spouse stays in one of the rooms booked.
