I noticed something interesting in the terms and conditions for this event, and went back to see if I’d overlooked it in earlier events. The new disclaimer reads “No refunds given for any changes or cancellations whether due to inclement weather, labor disputes or otherwise,” with labor disputes being the new addition to the clause.
Disney reached a new three-year agreement with a coalition of unions representing nearly 14,000 cast members last June, and I don’t believe are any major negotiations on the calendar this year. I’m wondering what prompted this addition, and if we’ll see it on other events going forward.

Will the expanded Oogie Boogies Bash come with extra entertainment?

When Disney announced the extended run of Oogie Boogie Bash, I wrote,
With Disney extending the event to 31 nights in 2025, we have to wonder if there won’t also be some upgrades to the entertainment offerings at Oogie Boogie Bash. The event will run almost as long as Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at Walt Disney’s World’s Magic Kingdom this year, so it’s safe to say any “test and adjust” period is well and truly over for this event.
The Walt Disney World event has the fantastic “Boo to You!” Halloween parade, the hit Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular stage show, and event-exclusive Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks show.
By comparison, Oogie Boogie Bash has a much smaller parade, no stage show, and the Halloween fireworks are presented over at Disneyland during normal operating hours. Of course, Oogie Boogie Bash also has the interactive treat trails with close encounters with Disney Villains, some rarely seen outside of the event. The California event also has the Villains Grove walk-through.
That sentiment was also fueled by a survey sent to attendees after the 2024 events, which floated ideas like a haunted maze, stage shows based on Hocus Pocus or The Nightmare Before Christmas, more Halloween-themed shows, parades or fireworks, and additional ride overlays.

I expected Disney would announce any such upgrades before tickets went on sale, but so far the only mystery seems to be which new villain will be “unleashed” for the event. If Disney is planning anything new, or even a return of World of Color: Villainous, nothing in the promotional materials* released so far provides a hint.
To be honest this is disappointing, and seems to convey the message that the event is already so popular that there’s no reason to enhance it. And to be fair, when Disney can sell out the entire run in just 11 days as happened in 2024, one could easily argue that there is no need to upgrade the event. I’m going to be interested to see how quickly the event sells out in 2025, and whether there are any treats in store.
*Speaking of those promotional materials, the five images released thus far seem to have Disney fans equally split between “Oh my gosh, those posters are so cool, can we get that image on a hat / shirt / mug / framed print?,” and “What kind of AI-generated nightmare fuel is this?!?” I clearly demonstrated last week that I am NOT a graphic artist, but I don’t need to run these through an AI detector to know these aren’t up to Disney’s usual standards. (But I did run them just for fun, and, yeah, they’re exactly what I assumed they were.) Disney has absolutely AMAZING artists, and it’s disheartening to see this type of work used instead of something original and professional.
More Halloween highlights
Along with all of the Oogie Boogie Bash news, Disneyland took the opportunity to show off Mickey and Minnie’s Halloween costumes, which this year are Halloween-hued versions of their 70th anniversary attire.
The company also confirmed the return of a number of popular Halloween Time offerings and activities, including:

Disneyland
- Halloween Screams fireworks
- Haunted Mansion Holiday
- Disney’s Happiest Haunts Guided Tour

Disney California Adventure
- Plaza de la Familia
- Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween
- Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree
- Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark
- Mickey’s Trick and Treat stage show

Downtown Disney and Resort Hotels
- Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit
- Goofy’s Kitchen celebrates Halloween
- Mickey’s Autumn Adventures at Storyteller’s Cafe
- Grand Californian Halloween Display
Mirabel and Miguel are back for the holidays
Disneyland is holding auditions over the next month for some of the holiday entertainment, and I was happy to see that both “Mirabel’s Gifts of The Season” and “A Musical Christmas with Mariachi Alegría de Disneyland & Miguel.” are coming back for 2025. The two shows debuted at Disney California Adventure in 2024, and both developed a well-deserved fan following.
“Mirabel’s Gifts of the Season” stars Mirabel herself from “Encanto,” plus new friends we didn’t meet in the movie. Isabella, Luisa and Bruno also make cameos in the musical. The 15-minute show manages to cram in the highlights from six hit songs from the “Encanto” soundtrack, and has several cute moments that really make it fun for the audience.
“A Musical Christmas with Mariachi Alegría de Disneyland & Miguel!” combines music, dance, storytelling and a character appearance into a 15-minute pageant. It’s a surprisingly warm show, and the audience was definitely drawn in. The show features Spanish and English songs, often switching between languages mid-song. Near the end is a lovely sing-along rendition of Noche de paz / Silent Night, during which younger children are invited to join the performers.
This and That…
…With one month left until Disneyland’s 70th anniversary, more decor elements are popping up. Trumpets now cap the banners in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle.

…The Tomorrowland Magic Band touch point was unveiled. The display makes three different automotive sounds when you hold your Magic Band to the three stoplight colors.

…Work walls have moved again, so we’re hopeful that Meet Tinker Bell in Pixie Hollow keeps it’s June 29 reopening date.

…Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room is now scheduled to reopen on July 3.

…As of press time the two most expensive Keys – the $1749 Inspire Key and the $1374 Believe Key – are still available for new purchase. The two lower-priced Keys – the $974 Enchant Key and the $599 Southern California resident-exclusive Imagine Key – are available for renewals only.

We also recommend checking the convention calendar at the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor and Convention Bureau website. When looking at that site, remember to note both the number of people and the number of rooms resulting from each convention. A gathering of 25,000 people booking few room nights (indicating most will be driving in to the area for their meeting) can impact traffic around the resort much more than a crowd of 25,000 staying in area hotels. Of course, that second group is going to make finding a hotel room more difficult (and possibly more expensive), so it’s best to book your own room as early as possible if you see that a big convention is in town during your trip.
Tickets, Discounts and Promotions
Disneyland prices as of October 9, 2024.
Note: MousePlanet does not edit past Updates to reflect price increases; for up-to-date prices, check the most recent Disneyland Resort Update. Several current promotions offer discounted admission to the Disneyland Resort. For your convenience, we have grouped the discount offers based on the number of days the tickets are valid. Check out the category that best matches the amount of time you plan to spend at the resort, and pick the offer that works best for you. And keep those tips coming—let us know if you find a better or different offer, so we can share it with other readers!
This first section is a list of discounts on ticket-only purchases. Though it has become more common in recent years, Disneyland tickets are rarely offered at deep discounts unless you are a resident of Southern California or Northern Mexico. For residents outside that area, the best discounts available tend to be simple advance purchase discounts. If you know of any additional discounts, offers, promotions, or contests that should be listed in this section, drop us a line. Note, we are no longer listing offers from the Anaheim-Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau, as their convenience fee negates any savings.
Don’t get scammed! Never buy tickets from an unofficial or secondary outlet, such as through eBay or Craigslist. Never rent or purchase tickets from people approaching you outside the gates stating they have remaining days or leftover tickets. This practice is against the terms of use for Disneyland admission, and may result in denial of entry. It is also common for criminals to shoplift inactivated Disney theme park tickets from supermarkets to resell them. There is no way to determine if these tickets are valid until you try to use them to enter the parks. Only purchase Disney theme park tickets directly from Disney, an authorized seller, or travel agency like MousePlanet travel partner Get Away Today.

Disneyland Anniversary Ticket
Fans can visit Disneyland up to four times during the 70th anniversary for as little as $100 per day with the Disneyland Anniversary Ticket.
The tickets are valid for visits during the first months of the 70th anniversary celebration, May 16 through August 14, 2025. You can purchase 3-day park tickets for $360 per person, or 4-day park tickets for $400. Pricing is the same for all ages 3 and older. As always, you can add on optional Park Hopper and/or Lightning Lane Multi Pass service upgrades for an extra charge.
Even better, there is no “fuse” on this ticket, which means you can use the first admission the day you buy it and wait until August to use the remaining admission days if you wish. However, you must make a theme park reservation for each day you wish to use this ticket, and Disney will set aside only a limited number of reservations for this ticket type each day.
As with the prior offer, the terms state, “Reservation availability for these offer tickets is not guaranteed for any date and reservations may be difficult to get for any particular date, especially as the ticket expiration date approaches. To ensure best availability, make reservations early.” From past experience, it will be difficult to get reservations the last weeks of this offer unless you plan well in advance.
