Ride-through of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Weeks before the ride officially opens in Walt Disney World, Disney has taken the very unusual stop of posting a full POV ride-through of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, essentially spoiling the ride for those who watch the video before they experience it for themselves.
The company has previously shared photos and short video clips of new attractions prior to their grand opening, but this is the first time in my memory that the company has released a full video a ride before it opened. Media who are attending the opening of the attraction have also been notified that they are not permitted to take photos or video on the ride, with the sole exception of a Disney-provided taping opportunity.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opens June 28 at Walt Disney World, with the Disneyland opening date yet to be announced.
More construction closures for Critter Country
The Orange County Register reports that the construction around Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will enter a new phase on July 8, necessitating the closure of additional offerings in and around Critter Country. According to the article, the bridge in front of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will close on July 8. This will cut off access to Davey Crockett’s Explorer Canoes, the Hungry Bear Restaurant, the Critter Country bathrooms under the Hungry Bear, and the Critter Country entrance to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
The Hungry Bear Restaurant will undergo a kitchen refurbishment during this closure.
These closures do not yet appear on the Disneyland website, and there is no estimated reopening date.
“Emotional Rollercoaster” debuts before World of Color
“Inside Out 2” opens on June 14, and Disney has added a new limited-time water short in front of World of Color – One. “Emotional Rollercoaster” helps introduce the new emptions from the film, including Anxiety, Envy, Embarrassment and Ennui.
New transportation and bag check details for D23
Tickets for the 2024 D23: The Ultimate Fan Event sold out in less than 3 days when they went on sale in March, but there was and is still quite a bit we don’t know about the event.
One major area of concern was how Disney plans to transport thousands of attendees who purchased Ultimate Fan Passes between the Anaheim Convention Center and the Honda Center each night for the evening presentations. We were also concerned about how Disney planned to navigate the Honda Center’s strict “no bags” policy, which will remain in effect for this event.
Last week Disney emailed ticket holders with updated transportation and bag check details, which should help attendees plan their days.
For attendees who are staying at a Disneyland Resort Hotel or one of 16 Good Neighbor Hotels, ART (Anaheim Regional Transportation) buses will offer complimentary transfers to and from the Anaheim Convention Center. With parking fees at the convention center up to $25 per day, this is an attractive option.
For those who purchased the Ultimate Fan Pass, D23 will offer complimentary shuttles between the Anaheim Convention Center and the Honda Center, including wheelchair-accessible shuttles. D23 cautions that “All shuttles will operate on a continuous departure schedule, available on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to limited availability.”
ART will offer complimentary bus service between the three Disneyland Resort Hotels and the 16 Good Neighbor Hotels to and from the ARTIC Center. From there, attendees can walk to the Honda Center.
Free parking is offered at the Honda Center for those who prefer to drive, and parking lots open 2 hours before the presentations. It is worth noting that parking at the Honda Center is currently extremely limited due to a massive redevelopment project underway at the site.
If you’d prefer to take a taxi or ride share service, drop-off locations are available at both the Anaheim Convention Center and the Honda Center. All of the current details are available on the Transportation and Parking page of the D23 website.
The Honda Center’s strict “no bag” policy has many guests concerned, especially because Expo attendees have the tendency to collect lots of swag and souvenirs during a day on the convention floor. D23 will offer complementary bag check at the Anaheim Convention Center for those who are leaving to attend an evening event at the Honda Center. There will also be a bag check option at the Honda Center, subject to a “nominal fee.”
Disney notes that both of these options are first-come, first-served and subject to limited availability. If you have the time to return your collection to your car or your hotel room before heading to the Honda Center, that is still probably your best option to avoid potentially long lines at the bag check locations.
Bags carried into the Honda Center may be no larger than 5″ x 9″ x 2″, with exceptions for medical and diaper bags no larger than 12″ x 12″ x 12″. All backpacks, regardless of size, are prohibited.
Union vote certified
The National Labor Relations Board last week certified the results of an election held last month, in which Disneyland cast members who perform in the Characters and Parades departments voted to to join the Actors’ Equity Association (Equity), the same association which represents their counterparts in Walt Disney World and Disney on Broadway. Nearly 80% of those who cast ballots voted to join the union, which Equity hailed as a “landslide victory.” The new union is called Magic United. The next steps are for the union to negotiate a contract with Disney on behalf of the nearly 1700 workers now represented by Magic United.

We also recommend checking the convention calendar at the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor and Convention Bureau website. When looking at that site, remember to note both the number of people and the number of rooms resulting from each convention. A gathering of 25,000 people booking few room nights (indicating most will be driving in to the area for their meeting) can impact traffic around the resort much more than a crowd of 25,000 staying in area hotels. Of course, that second group is going to make finding a hotel room more difficult (and possibly more expensive), so it’s best to book your own room as early as possible if you see that a big convention is in town during your trip.
Current Discounts and Promotions
Disneyland prices as of October 11, 2023.
Note: MousePlanet does not edit past Updates to reflect price increases; for up-to-date prices, check the most recent Disneyland Resort Update. Several current promotions offer discounted admission to the Disneyland Resort. For your convenience, we have grouped the discount offers based on the number of days the tickets are valid. Check out the category that best matches the amount of time you plan to spend at the resort, and pick the offer that works best for you. And keep those tips coming—let us know if you find a better or different offer, so we can share it with other readers!
This first section is a list of discounts on ticket-only purchases. Though it has become more common in recent years, Disneyland tickets are rarely offered at deep discounts unless you are a resident of Southern California or Northern Mexico. For residents outside that area, the best discounts available tend to be simple advance purchase discounts. If you know of any additional discounts, offers, promotions, or contests that should be listed in this section, drop us a line. Note, we are no longer listing offers from the Anaheim-Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau, as their convenience fee negates any savings.
Don’t get scammed! Never buy tickets from an unofficial or secondary outlet, such as through eBay or Craigslist. Never rent or purchase tickets from people approaching you outside the gates stating they have remaining days or leftover tickets. This practice is against the terms of use for Disneyland admission, and may result in denial of entry. It is also common for criminals to shoplift inactivated Disney theme park tickets from supermarkets to resell them. There is no way to determine if these tickets are valid until you try to use them to enter the parks. Only purchase Disney theme park tickets directly from Disney, an authorized seller, or travel agency like MousePlanet travel partner Get Away Today.

3-Day Disneyland Ticket Offer – June 10 – September 26, 2024
Visit the Disneyland Resort theme parks three weekdays between June 10 and September 26, 2024 for as little as $149 for ages 3-9, or $249 for ages 10 and older using a new discounted ticket which goes on sale May 29, 2024. That represents a savings of up to $219 off the regular price of a three-day, one-park-per-day ticket for children ages 3-9. The adult offer is a $141 discount, and is the same price than the summer 2023 deal.
You can also choose between a ticket good Monday through Thursday OR a slightly more expensive ticket good any day of the week. There are also options to add park hopping and Disney Genie+ service to your ticket at the time of purchase.
This new offer differs from past discouts discounts, so be sure to pay close attention to details before you purchase.
The 3-Day Disneyland Ticket Offer is a 3-day, 1-park-per-day ticket that offers admission to either Disneyland or Disney California Adventure:
- The weekday ticket – starting at $149 for ages 3-9; $249 for ages 10 and older. Three weekdays (Mondays through Thursdays only) between June 10 and September 26, 2024
- The any day ticket – starting at $199 for ages 3-9; $299, for ages 10 and older. Three days (any day of the week, including weekends) between June 10 and September 26, 2024
You can use every day of the 3-Day Disneyland Ticket at the same theme park, or visit different parks on different days, but you can’t use it to enter both parks on the same day unless you add the park-hopper option ($70 per ticket)
There is no “fuse” on this ticket, which means that you can use the first admission on June 10 and wait until September 26 to use the remaining admission. However, remember that you must make a theme park reservation for each day that you want to use the ticket. Disney also warns that reservations for this category of ticket are not guaranteed for any particular dates, and that a date may sell out in this ticket category though other ticket types have reservations of available. It is probably best to purchase early and make reservations as soon as they open for your desired travel dates. Each day of use constitutes one full day of use.
Tickets expire on September 26, 2024, and have no holiday blackouts. That means that you can visit on the 4th of July holiday using a weekday ticket, assuming reservations are available.
May purchase up to 15 tickets per eligible person per day. Tickets are nonrefundable, may not be sold or transferred for commercial use and exclude activities/events separately priced. Offer may not be combined with other ticket discounts or promotions. Subject to restrictions and change or cancellation without notice.
Visit Get Away Today starting May 29, 2024, to take advantage of this ticket offer! Book at Get Away Today or call 1-855-GET-AWAY, and be sure to mention you saw them on MousePlanet. PLUS – if you purchased the Adults at Kids’ Prices deal from Get Away Today last week and this offer is a better deal for you, Get Away Today will of course honor the new ticket for you just as soon as it’s available! Just reach out to Get Away Today on or after May 29 to receive the price adjustment.
