$50 kids Disneyland tickets are back this summer
Disneyland last week announced a new summer ticket offer which offers the best of the usual SoCal resident deal PLUS the return of the popular Kids Special Ticket offer from this winter. Even better, there is no residency restriction on this offer, so anyone from Newport Beach to New Hampshire can take advantage if they visit between June 10 and September 26, 2024.
The new offers gives vacation planners a new incentive to book those summer trips to see Pixar Fest (now through August 4), enjoy the return of the nighttime spectacular “Fantasmic!”, and experience Halloween Time and Plaza de La Familia, which kick off August 23.
3-Day Disneyland Ticket Offer
Visit the Disneyland Resort theme parks three weekdays between June 10 and September 26, 2024 for as little as $149 for ages 3-9, or $249 for ages 10 and older using a new discounted ticket which goes on sale May 29, 2024. That represents a savings of up to $219 off the regular price of a three-day, one-park-per-day ticket for children ages 3-9. The adult offer is a $141 discount, and is the same price than the summer 2023 deal.
You can also choose between a ticket good Monday through Thursday OR a slightly more expensive ticket good any day of the week. There are also options to add park hopping and Disney Genie+ service to your ticket at the time of purchase.
This new offer differs from past discouts discounts, so be sure to pay close attention to details before you purchase.
The 3-Day Disneyland Ticket Offer is a 3-day, 1-park-per-day ticket that offers admission to either Disneyland or Disney California Adventure:
- The weekday ticket – starting at $149 for ages 3-9; $249 for ages 10 and older. Three weekdays (Mondays through Thursdays only) between June 10 and September 26, 2024
- The any day ticket – starting at $199 for ages 3-9; $299, for ages 10 and older. Three days (any day of the week, including weekends) between June 10 and September 26, 2024
You can use every day of the 3-Day Disneyland Ticket at the same theme park, or visit different parks on different days, but you can’t use it to enter both parks on the same day unless you add the park-hopper option ($70 per ticket)
There is no “fuse” on this ticket, which means that you can use the first admission on June 10 and wait until September 26 to use the remaining admission. However, remember that you must make a theme park reservation for each day that you want to use the ticket. Disney also warns that reservations for this category of ticket are not guaranteed for any particular dates, and that a date may sell out in this ticket category though other ticket types have reservations of available. It is probably best to purchase early and make reservations as soon as they open for your desired travel dates. Each day of use constitutes one full day of use.
Tickets expire on September 26, 2024, and have no holiday blackouts. That means that you can visit on the 4th of July holiday using a weekday ticket, assuming reservations are available.
May purchase up to 15 tickets per eligible person per day. Tickets are nonrefundable, may not be sold or transferred for commercial use and exclude activities/events separately priced. Offer may not be combined with other ticket discounts or promotions. Subject to restrictions and change or cancellation without notice.
Visit Get Away Today starting May 29, 2024, to take advantage of this ticket offer! Book at Get Away Today or call 1-855-GET-AWAY, and be sure to mention you saw them on MousePlanet. PLUS – if you purchased the Adults at Kids’ Prices deal from Get Away Today last week and this offer is a better deal for you, Get Away Today will of course honor the new ticket for you just as soon as it’s available! Just reach out to Get Away Today on or after May 29 to receive the price adjustment.

Pixar Fest Marketplaces open this week
Six walk-up kiosks open this week in Disney California Adventure, each one offering food and drink items inspired by a Pixar movie. This late addition to Pixar Fest is new for the 2024 event. Unfortunately Disney is *not* offering a Sip and Savor pass for this limited-time offering, but you have until August 4, 2024 to graze through the menu. Pricing has not yet been released.
I had an opportunity to sample a few of these dishes during a media preview last month, and definitely had some favorites. The Red Panda Bao from 4*Town Fav*rites is delicious, and I liked the chile-garlic sauce. It has more heat than you might expect, but you can tame that with the Nobody Like U Cooler, a non-alcoholic offering from the same marketplace.
I also really loved the Ratatouille Pizza from Gusteau’s To-Go, and my husband and friends could not say enough about the crème brûlée-filled Gusteau Macaron. There were some dishes I’d skip, like the BBQ-spiced IMPOSSIBLE Chicken from Elemental Table (it’s just another version of “what can we top chicken nuggets with?”), or the Angry Red Hot Mac & Cheese from Hanger Management. I love spice, but this another dish that’s all heat and no flavor.
I’m on the fence about the Supper Club Chicken & Potato Waffles from The Spark, and want to try it again when it’s hot and fresh. The sample I tried had been sitting too long, and the dish had lost its crunch, but the flavors were worth giving it another go.

Downtown Disney welcomes three new eateries
Three new Downtown Disney restaurants headed by celebrity chef Carlos Gaytán have now opened in Downtown Disney. Paseo, Centrico and Tiendita officially opened on May 2. following several days of soft opening previews.
I had a chance to dine at Tiendita on Friday, and was impressed with the food, though the service style is novel. The take-away eatery offers absolutely no seating, and all orders are packaged to go. This is convenient for those looking for a grab-and-go option to take back to their hotel room, but day guests will have to make an impromptu picnic in Downtown Disney to enjoy their food.
Tiendita offers a menu of tacos, burritos, quesadillas and nachos with an assortment of fillings, with vegetarian and gluten-free options. Other options include ceviches, seafood tostadas, a salad and traditional sides like rice and beans. The mushroom tinga burrito was savory and filling, with a perfect heat level. The street corn side dish was more like a soup than any version of the dish I’ve had before, but the flavors were amazing.
Customers are encouraged to place their orders at one of several touch-screen kiosks in front of the location, and can either pay there immediately with a credit card, or talk to the lone cashier if they are using another form of payment. As a note to Magic Key holders – the location does offer a 15% Magic Key discount, but you can not apply it from the kiosk. If you want to use that discount, you’ll want to order at the kiosk, but wait to pay the cashier.
We’ll share reviews of Paseo and Centrico once they’ve been up and running for a few weeks.
Anaheim takes second Disneyland Forward vote this week
It’s been almost a month since the Anaheim City Council unanimously voted to approve the Disneyland Forward proposal, and now a second vote on the matter is scheduled on Tuesday, May 7. The public portion of the meeting begins at 5:00 p.m., and you can read the meeting agenda here. Because the five agenda items related to Disneyland Forward, including a recommendation to deny a motion to rehear the decision, are part of the consent calendar, it is possible they will all be approved without discussion by the City Council. However, it appears the public will be allowed to share their views on the matter during the first public comment period of the meeting.
You can watch the entire meeting at home via the Anaheim.tv website, or on YouTube.
Club 33 chef honored
Disneyland Resort chef Gloria Tae, now chef de cuisine of the park’s private Club 33, was honored by the California State Assembly as a California Woman of the Year.
Disney foodies may have encountered Tae at any number of restaurants in her Disney career, starting with the Golden Vine Winery, and then at the upscale Napa Rose at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel. Tae returned to DCA to open the Carthay Circle Restaurant (the Vietnamese twice-cooked beef on the Carthay Circle Lounge menu is based on a family recipe).
Tae was promoted to chef de cuisine at Napa Rose, where she worked before being named chef de cuisine of Club 33 in 2022, the first woman to every hold that role. At the time, she told the Disney Parks Blog, “I’d rather be known as a talented chef as opposed to a talented female chef.”

We also recommend checking the convention calendar at the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor and Convention Bureau website. When looking at that site, remember to note both the number of people and the number of rooms resulting from each convention. A gathering of 25,000 people booking few room nights (indicating most will be driving in to the area for their meeting) can impact traffic around the resort much more than a crowd of 25,000 staying in area hotels. Of course, that second group is going to make finding a hotel room more difficult (and possibly more expensive), so it’s best to book your own room as early as possible if you see that a big convention is in town during your trip.
Current Discounts and Promotions
Disneyland prices as of October 11, 2023.
Note: MousePlanet does not edit past Updates to reflect price increases; for up-to-date prices, check the most recent Disneyland Resort Update. Several current promotions offer discounted admission to the Disneyland Resort. For your convenience, we have grouped the discount offers based on the number of days the tickets are valid. Check out the category that best matches the amount of time you plan to spend at the resort, and pick the offer that works best for you. And keep those tips coming—let us know if you find a better or different offer, so we can share it with other readers!
This first section is a list of discounts on ticket-only purchases. Though it has become more common in recent years, Disneyland tickets are rarely offered at deep discounts unless you are a resident of Southern California or Northern Mexico. For residents outside that area, the best discounts available tend to be simple advance purchase discounts. If you know of any additional discounts, offers, promotions, or contests that should be listed in this section, drop us a line. Note, we are no longer listing offers from the Anaheim-Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau, as their convenience fee negates any savings.
Don’t get scammed! Never buy tickets from an unofficial or secondary outlet, such as through eBay or Craigslist. Never rent or purchase tickets from people approaching you outside the gates stating they have remaining days or leftover tickets. This practice is against the terms of use for Disneyland admission, and may result in denial of entry. It is also common for criminals to shoplift inactivated Disney theme park tickets from supermarkets to resell them. There is no way to determine if these tickets are valid until you try to use them to enter the parks. Only purchase Disney theme park tickets directly from Disney, an authorized seller, or travel agency like MousePlanet travel partner Get Away Today.

SoCal Resident Ticket Offer
The Southern California Resident Ticket offers residents admission to either Disneyland or Disney California Adventure up to three weekdays between January 2 and June 2, 2024 for $225, or up to any three days between January 2 and June 2, 2024 for $275.
You can use every day of this ticket at the same theme park, or visit different parks on different days, but you can’t use it to enter both parks on the same day. For an additional $70, you can upgrade the ticket to a park-hopper, which allows entry to both parks each day.
You can also add Disney Genie+ service for an additional $90 for the three days when purchased in advance. Remember that you can also upgrade to Disney Genie+ after you enter the theme park (subject to availability) and pay the then-current daily fee. We recommend going with the latter option for your first experience with Disney Genie+, just to make sure the service provides a value for you. If you love it, you can always add the Genie+ to your remaining days.
Tickets are available through the Disneyland website, or through MousePlanet travel partner Get Away Today.
There is no “fuse” on this ticket, which means that you can use the first admission on January 2 and wait until June 2 to use the remaining admission. However, remember that you must make a theme park reservation for each day that you want to use the ticket. Disney also warns that ticket sales may be paused or ended at any time, so it’s probably best to purchase early so you’re ready to make reservations as soon as they open for your desired travel dates. Reservations can now be made up to 180 days in advance, which as of press time includes the entire duration of this offer.
Disney states that proof of residency is required for purchase and admission, and each resident can purchase up to five tickets per day.

2024 Military Hotel discounts
Military discounts are valid for stays most nights from January 2 through December 13, 2024. You can book now through December 10, 2024, and travel must be completed by December 14, 2024.
Disney does not publish the actual discounted rates, and instead asks eligible U.S. military personnel to call (833) 618-0536 to check pricing, availability and to make reservations. In past years, the offer was generally 30% to 40% off, based on room category. Concierge rooms, Signature or Premium suites, or 2-or 3-Bedroom Villas are excluded from the offer, and this offer can not be combined with any other discount.
Unlike the Walt Disney World version, the Disneyland offer allows the eligible service member to book up to two rooms, and allows their spouse (with valid and proper ID) to qualify in the absence of the service member, provided the spouse stays in one of the rooms booked.
