Tip of the Week
Mike provided this week’s tip, about ways to fill your time while waiting in long attraction queues.
Featurette: Floyd Norman
Steven Ng caught up with Floyd Norman at this past summer’s NFFC Disneyana Fan Club Show and Sale.
Floyd talked a bit about his history at the Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar Animation Studios. He spent some time talking about his experiences working on The Jungle Book and with watching the actors involved in the movie. He also explained how he went to Pixar, and compared early Pixar studios to the early days at Disney.
It’s great to hear from Floyd, who is quite busy writing things for Jim Hill Media and on his own Mr. Fun Blog, among other projects.
You can find Floyd’s first book, Faster! Cheaper! The Flip Side of the Art of Animation at Cataroo.com, and his most recent book, Disk Drive: Animated Humor in the Digital Age, at the Blurb.com bookstore.
Our thanks to Floyd Norman for taking the time to sit with Steven Ng, and to Steven for bringing us the interview.
Video Game Review
Mike talked about the new, highly-anticipated Epic Mickey (buy it!) from a gamer’s point of view. He gave a little overview of the backstory of the game before going into the game itself. He thinks that, while it has a lot of great things going for it, there are also things that are disappointing compared to their potential.
Mike was alternately enthusiastic about the game and frustrated by its shortcomings.
Despite that, Mike felts that it’s a game that any Disney fan should pick up, and gave it 2.5 out of 5 planets. He thinks it’ll be frustrating for players who have any kind of gaming experience, yet still enjoyable.
Three Wishes
This week, we brought back a segment that we haven’t used in about three years, called “Three Wishes .” In it, Mark and Mike will talk about their three wishes for a park, resort, movie, or other Disney-related topic.
This week, we talked about our Three Wishes for the Fantasyland Forest expansion in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.
We first reported about the Fantasyland Forest in a weekly Walt Disney World Resort Update last September. it was first reported on a MouseStation podcast later that week.
Mark’s first wish is that they create something for boys.
Mike’s first wish is that they put an attraction based on The Lion King back into the park.
Mark’s second wish is that they cancel the Pixie Hollow portion of the expansion.
Mike’s second wish is to use Fantasyland as the home base for Kim Possible Adventure-type games similar to what is being run at Epcot’s World Showcase.
Mark’s final wish would be to build more attractions and fewer meet-and-greets.
Mike’s final wish is to have an adults-only experience in Fantasyland to allow grown-ups to have time in Fantasyland without children.
To submit your opinion on whether or not we should try “Three Wishes” again or to submit your own ideas, send us an email or call our toll-free voicemail.

Listener Feedback
Mary Tesch wrote in to tell us about all of the new experiences that she and her family did for the first time on their most recent trip. It seems that they went all-out in trying new things on the trip, and it’s a great way to bring new enjoyment on a trip.
Now that Pete Altemese is back home, he called to tell us about his trip and how the staff at the Pop Century Resort took care of him and his family.
