you prefer.

Lorie (a.k.a. Minnie Lor) wrote in to let us know that she’ll be joining
us at our Hustle-tini meet
at MouseFest.
She also noted the complexity of her scheduling spreadsheet for MouseFest. While in general we do lament the increasing need to plan Walt Disney World trips, we make an exception for MouseFest, as there are so many meets and so many people to meet that it’s literally impossible to do them all. In order to see the people that you really want to see, a spreadsheet is essential. (Mark’s got a multi-sheet spreadsheet, and there’s very little white space.)
Mary Lee wrote in to tell us that she’d be at the Dole Whip Meet and the Mega Mouse Meet (and possibly the Hustle-tini Meet), but that her flight probably wouldn’t get her in early enough to attend MouseFest 101, and she didn’t want to attend MousssseFest due to an allergy to chocolate.
While Mark and Mike have a hard time even considering the horror of being allergic to chocolate, eating the Mousssse is not a requirement to attend the meet. In fact, some attendees ate Napoleons and other pastry rather than Mousssse last year.
Jason Rasmussen wrote in to place his vote for a single, combined MouseStation and MousePlanetWatch feed.
Patrick Toohill wrote to thank us for our help in getting him started in
the listening to podcasts, and he passed along a couple of things that he’s
learned. He also asked us to keep the shows on separate feeds, but we think
that he misunderstood the terminology that we’re using. It looks like Patrick
thinks that we’re going to put all of the shows into one file again. We’re
not going to do that. We’re considering putting just running the one combined
feed of MouseStation and MousePlanetWatch, and discontinuing the individual
feeds for the shows. In other words, instead of having one feed with three
shows per week, one feed with one show per week and a third feed with all
four shows per week, we would consolidate and just continue the one feed with
all four shows per week. We’d also fold MousePlanetWatch back under the MouseStation
umbrella for show branding and numbering.
Audress Johnson wanted to let us know that she(?) is enjoying our Top Three
lists so far, and suggested a few other topics that we could do Top Threes
on after we finish our tour through all domestic Disney parks. We’ll definitely
put them into our stack of ideas for next year. The name of the sidewalk cafe
at Epcot’s France pavilion (that eventually became part of Les Chefs de France)
that Mark couldn’t think of during the show was Au Petit Cafe.
Hayley B. from Delaware posted on MousePad on a show
notes thread in the Columns General forum to let us know that she agrees
with our assessment of Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe.
Steve Russo wrote in to explain how he might not have been right about “Flora
Lawn” (instead of “Flora Long”), but he wasn’t wrong, either.
(As long as you say that the “g” is silent.)
He made an attempt to answer Mike’s question from last week about the originally-intended
sex of Simba and Nala’s offspring. Mark gave it a shot, too. However, it was
apparently a trick question, so he really had no chance at getting it. (Kind
of like Mark and Mike trying to answer the question about Honey, I Shrunk
the Audience.)
He attempted to Stump the Hosts with a question about the sign on the front
side of the Main Street Railroad Station. Mike got one of the two parts, but
Mark knew them both.

Kingdom’s population and elevation. Photo by Steve Russo.
Steve also passed along information on where to order his new book. You can
pick it up at Amazon.com,
or iUniverse.com.
Scott Seigel complimented us on the show, and to tell us about his experience
at Walt Disney World on 9/11.
He also asked us for our opinion of his plans for a dream trip, and our thoughts
on traveling to Walt Disney World and attending dinner shows solo.
His trip plan sounds fantastic (we’re very envious), but he shouldn’t worry
about traveling solo, because so many people at Walt Disney World are very
friendly and willing to chat with the people around them.
As promised on the show, here is the correct information about using Disney’s
VIP Tour Guides: For a cost of $125.00 per hour and a 6 hour minimum, you
can have your own personal tour guide. Note that special discounts may apply
for Disney Resort Guests, during non-holiday periods. Theme park admission
is required.
Changing the feed, our contest and MouseFest
We’ve gotten a lot of positive feedback on the new format of shorter, more
frequent MouseStation shows. Currently, MouseStation is published three times
a week, with short subjects on Mondays, featured topics on Wednesdays and
listener feedback on Fridays; the MousePlanetWatch news is published on Thursday.
We’re still currently maintaining the series of three feeds, one for MouseStation
only, one for MousePlanetWatch only and one for both shows.
Based on listener feedback, we will be deciding whether to merge the feeds,
and return to a single feed with all shows, folding MousePlanetWatch into
the main MouseStation feed. That would still leave us with four shows per
week, but there would be only one feed. With the current listener numbers
being fairly even between MouseStation and MousePlanetWatch, it seems as if
there’s a great deal of overlap between the shows.
Please weigh in on the idea of returning to a single feed via email
or by calling our toll-free feedback line at 1-866-939-2278. Don’t forget
that we love voicemails because then we can put your voice on the show!
Don’t forget that you’ve only got two weeks from tomorrow to get your entry
in for our Owner’s Locker contest!
We also wanted to remind you that we have now scheduled our MouseFest meet
for the podcasts. The MouseStation Hustle-tini Meet will begin at 5:30 p.m.
at Classic Concoctions in the Everything Pop food court at Disney’s Pop Century
Resort for Bluetinis to get our nerve up to get up and boogie. We’ll make
sure that we’re in the lobby before 6 p.m. so that we can do The Hustle, then
return to Classic Concoctions or elsewhere to record some more for the podcast.
For more information on the Hustle-tini or any other MousePlanet-sponsored
meet at MouseFest, check out our MouseFest
information page. If you’ve got any ideas on what might make a cool MouseStation
T-shirt for MouseFest, let Mark know!
