Listener Feedback Friday!
In this week’s Listener Feedback:
Jeff Herman and gabby both wrote in to let Mark know that the name of the
restaurant before it became the ‘Ohana was the Papeete Bay Verandah. Jeff
noted that he got the information from Steve Seifert’s Tikiman2000
web site. Mark and Mike were both shocked that neither of them thought to
check there, since it’s the definitive source for anything related to the
Polynesian Resort.
Julie (from the UK) wrote to say that after watching the video from the Hustle-tini
meet, it looked like great fun and a good turn out. She hopes to join us for
Mousefest 2008. She also congratulated us on reaching the century mark, passing
100 episodes of MouseStation. Lastly, she wished Mark a belated happy birthday.
(We think that she meant Mike there.)
Alex from Houston wrote in twice. In the first email, he noted that people
looked at him funny when he was cracking up over Episode 101 over breakfast
at Disneyland. He also asked whether he would be better off getting an annual
pass for his two planned trips to Walt Disney World during 2008. Mark noted
that, because the ticket prices are so front-loaded, he’s much better off
with the annual pass, especially in light of the annual pass discounts on
room rates and dining.
In Alex’s second email, he noted that it was hard to hear some of the people
talking about the Country Bear Jamboree. (Mark apologized again for the
misconfiguration of his recording device.)
He also asked what is the best route to avoid traffic heading from his
conference hotel in the Universal area to Walt Disney World. Mike noted
that he should at least do one day at Universal. Mike also suggested using
Mears transportation from one park to the other.
As to the best route for driving, there really probably isn’t much of a
choice other than taking I-4. Trying to take International Drive would be
horrendous.
Mark Winters of RideMax
wrote in to respond to Kyle’s question about the system’s value on Christmas
Eve. Mark noted that he thought that the system was most useful on the busiest
days. Mark also noted some strategies for Kyle regardless of whether or not
he uses RideMax.
He suggested that Kyle get to the park early, illustrating the point by including
links for photos from Christmas week of Adventureland
in the first hour of park opening and Fantasyland
in mid-afternoon.
He also suggested that Kyle use Fastpass to its best advantage.
Mark had forwarded that email to Kyle so that he’d have more time to
decide whether or not he was going to purchase RideMax for his trip. aboutand
whether or not it would be a good idea to try it for Christmas Eve in
the Magic Kingdom. Mark and Mike weren’t sure how well it would work for
that particular day, but Mark said that he’d write to Mark Winters and
get an answer for next week’s show.
George was having trouble downloading the Hustle-tini video. Mark tried
a couple of things to ensure that the file was available. Anybody still
having trouble getting to the video or any other show, please let Mark
know ASAP.
Lorie Holland wrote in to note that she was thrilled to have won our big
door prize at the Mega Mouse Meet, and that she was anjoying David Koenig’s
book and is looking forward to taking advantage of her Owner’s Locker and
stay at the Doubletree Guest Suites. She asked for large-sized copies of
the photos of her after winning the door prize and of the Hustle-tini meet.

Mike Hamilton of the Disney Podcast Directory wrote in to let us know
that he was really enjoyed Episode 101, and that he had just realized
that he started listening to it at 1:01 a.m. (without planning it that
way).
Mike’s second email came after he started on Episode 102. He wanted to
say that he really appreciated all of the work that Steven puts in making
us sound good and the work he did to put together that great Episode 101
blooper reel.
He also made fun of Mike for mispronouncing Steven’s last name, though
it was Mark who mispronounced the name early on.
