Listener Feedback Friday!
In this week’s Listener Feedback:
We were planning to do a Magical Moment blowout during the holidays, partly
in honor of the anniversary of the end of our original Magical Moment Podcast,
and this week’s shortage of listener feedback played right into that. So we
did two emails, then played five voicemail Magical Moments. We’re holding
back two email Magical Moments for our next two Monday shows, just in case.
Julie (from the UK) wrote to wish us a great Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Mike translated Christmas to Hanukkah for Mark. In either case, we thank you,
Julie. We wish all of our listeners a great holiday season, whatever you celebrate!
We got an email from Ashlynn Manning of StoryCorps, a national oral history
project whose mission it is to honor and record one another’s stories through
sound. They’ll be stationed in Orlando from January 10 through February 2,
and they’re inviting people who have personal histories with Disney and the
theme park culture of the Orlando area. The more connection and history the
better. If any of our listeners would be interested in interviewing a friend
or loved one in their booth, reservations for interviews are open to the public
through the StoryCorps
website as of yesterday.
In our first Magical Moment, Dan the Light Man from Golden, CO talked about
a magical parasailing adventure that he had, where the other folks who were
supposed to be there didn’t show up, and he got the longest ride that they’ve
ever given anyone. He spent almost 25 minutes up there! And when it was over,
they gave him and his wife Nancy a boat ride back to the Grand Floridian dock
afterwards.
Big Brian Martsolf called in a Magical Moment where he got a Dream Fastpass
after taking some photos of the steam train and then exiting Main Street Station.
Debra from Kansas City talked about when she and her husband surprised his
best friend, his wife and their two children at Walt Disney World. They had
a wonderful, magical vacation and they plan to take more trips together in
the future.
Kim Barron had a Magical Moment on her first Disney trip, with her whole
family, when they were in line for Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin. Buzz
was her youngest niece’s favorite character, and she was just about falling
asleep on her father’s shoulder, and she woke up to see the giant Buzz figure
in the queue, and it was just a wonderful moment for all of them.
Liana from Simi Valley called in to tell us about her trip to Disneyland
with her husband and her daughter where they had the opportunity to ride in
the Lilly Belle VIP train car.

Mike and Mark really appreciate all of you sharing your Magical Moments with
us and our other listeners, and we look forward to another year of Magical
Moments with all of you.
