Listener Feedback Friday!
In this week’s Listener Feedback:
Mike and Mark did their best fighting their ways through colds to do the show this week.
Jeff Peterson from Ramona, California wrote in to make sure that we knew that Blaine Gibson is not dead. Mark noted on our Presidents’ Day show that he wasnt sure whether or not Blaine was still alive, thinking that he had heard that Blaine had passed away. Gibson, who has sculpted every presidential face in the Hall of Presidents attraction, recently appeared on the panel discussion at the showing of 101 Dalmatians at the El Capitan Theatre back in January.
Jeff also included some joking notes about the Hall of Presidents being updated to merge with the Futurama cartoon series. He also added some phony trivia about there originally being two Grover Cleveland animatronics to represent the fact that he was president twice.
Justin wrote in say that he liked that we tried to guess his age. (Mark had guessed 14-20, Mike had guessed 18-26.) Justin is actually 13. Mark had based his guess on the fact that he liked teasing his sister that the volcano in the Mexico pavilion was erupting and the fact that his top 3 attractions were all thrill rides.
Audress Johnson from Littleton, CO wrote to thank us for the Magical Moments special that we did on February 20. She made up some “Thank You” bookmarks to hand out to cast members who made magic for her, and she made up slips of paper to write down the names of cast membes and what they did to make magic. She also handed out sheets of stickers and gave them out to every kid that she could (after asking the parents’ permission).
She liked the fact that we asked people who experience magic to “pay it forward.”
Randy called in from Helena, Alabama to ask us about Disney’s Magical Express. He and his family are going to Walt Disney World for nine days in April, staying at Coronado Springs, and he’s worried about delays at the airport and worrying whether they would go direct to Coronado Springs. He wanted to know whether DME is a good idea for them to try.
Mike noted that the wait may be as much as a half-hour, but it’s still probably not much longer than it would take to wait for your luggage at baggage claim. That said, Mike recommends DME highly. He helped to launch the service at Pop Century, and he believes that it’s a great service.
Mark said that it’s going to be close to the fastest way to your resort, if not the fastest. If you feel like you don’t need to have a car with you, then DME is a great choice. (If you don’t want to ride with a bunch of people, try calling MousePlanet sponsor Quicksilver Tours & Transportation for a limo ride in both directions, including a grocery stop on the way to your resort.
Kevin-John Jobczynski, of Erie, PA, wrote in to tell us about his Top 3 lists for all of Walt Disney World.

This arrived in time to be considered for the Owner’s Locker “Design Your Own Promotion” promotion, but was not selected. Rather than leave it unread, we’re going to read it now.
Graeme Cochrane had a late idea for our Owner’s Locker “Design Your Own Promotion” promotion, which was considered but not published before we announced the contest. Graeme wanted a T-shirt with both the MousePlanet and Owner’s Locker logos.
We did consider the suggestion and discussed it with John Van Meter, but because of the cost of creating and printing those shirts, it would be somewhat difficult to coordinate.
Dave in San Francisco wrote in to tell us about a Simba vs. Nemo competition in his class, and how the voting went.
He will also be in Las Vegas at the same time that Mike will be there are wondered if he could get together with Mike, Sean and anybody else. Mike has contacted Dave, and they will be getting together with Sean Jones and Mike “Mr. Abominable” Shearin.
Claudia Rosani, a former Mexico pavilion International Program member, wrote in to thank us for interviewing David Koenig, as she has been a fan for a long time. She also likes hearing Mike talk about the College Program and how it changed his life, as the International Program changed hers.
Finally, new MousePlanet columnist Steve Russo wrote in to ask about the delays with Express Check-In for US Airways that Mark reported in the MousePlanetWatch news, ask what happened to the weekly trivia question that used to be in the Walt Disney World Update, and to ask about the cutback in Traditions training.
