Listener Feedback Friday!

In this week’s Listener Feedback, six of the nine responses are voicemails this week, with two of them being double voicemails, for a total of eight voicemails on the show.:

John Mouland wrote to thank us for supporting Westfest. He also asked that we get the “Foreign Visitor to WDW for Dummies” show out before mid April, as he will be at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts later that month. (If you’ve got any tips for International Travelers for us to use on that show, send them in to us and we’ll give you credit on air.

Liana called twice to thank us for giving some exposure to WestFest and to lament that not enough other podcasts cover Disneyland. (The second call was to let us know that she wasn’t talking about us, since we do give Disneyland quite a bit of coverage.) She was also disappointed that we wouldn’t be able to make it to WestFest. Unfortunately, budgetary reasons are keeping us from adding a Disneyland trip tp our already-planned Walt Disney World itineraries.

David from Carlsbad called to let us know that, first of all he was having problems with the Captcha image verification on our email system, and second of all that he was disappointed to hear Mike use the word “friggin’,” as it is the doorway to the bigger “f-word.”

Mike apologized for using the word, while Mark explained that the image verificaiton may be a pain for many people, but it does cut down tremendously on the amount of spam that we receive. Mark recommended that, if you’re having problems using the mail form, just send mail directly to our email address without the form, and we’ll still get it.

Vance Cope called twice to clarify that, he wasn’t trying to recommend taking the DVC tour in his tip of the week just to get the freebies, but more that when you take the tour, you should remember that you can get some premiums for checking it out. Mark had questioned whether it was fair to take the tour if you weren’t at least considering buying into DVC.

Solomon from Minnesota called to say that, even if people aren’t openly considering a DVC purchase, it’s probably still a good thing for DVC that they take the tour, because the amount of time that they get would easily be worth whatever the price, due to the high value offering that Disney is giving. Mark sits corrected.

Lynne wrote to recommend to Sharla, our solo traveler, that she check out a spa treatment at one of Walt Disney World’s spas.

Liana called again to recommend that Sharla check out the MousePad discussion forums for more ideas on how to approach a solo trip. She also wanted to note that she highly approved Sharla’s idea of having a listener appear on the show as a guest.

Pete Altemese wrote to support Sharla’s guest listener appearance and to volunteer to appear himself.

Emily from California called to suggest that maybe we run a mini-contest to decide who gets to appear on the listener-as-guest show.

Mark noted that it’s likely that, rather than having a single guest listener for an entire show, we will more likely be running a live call-in show so that everybody can get a chance. We’re working on more details and the technology to run the live show. We’ll let everybody know what we’re donig when we have a better idea ourselves.

Mark said that he’s still getting used to the Mister Rogers-type music that Steven Ng has been using at the end of the show.

Wrapping up

Please send us your comments via email or by calling our toll-free feedback line at 1-866-939-2278. Don’t forget that we love voicemails because then we can put your voice on the show!

On April 27, Mark will be walking to raise money for the March of Dimes for the third time. Please consider supporting him. The March of Dimes mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.

Please take a few minutes to complete our listener survey. It helps us learn more about you and what you like most about this podcast.

Don’t forget to go to the iTunes podcast directory and give us a good rating for the combined feed!

You can get your MousePlanet (or MouseStation) swag from the MousePlanet CafePress store and the brand-new MouseStation CafePress store.

Also remember to go out to our main podcast page and poke a pin into our Frappr map.

Thanks to our West Coast correspondent Andrew Rich, and audio engineer and sound editor Steven Ng.
