Today’s show is sponsored by Advantage Vacation Homes, a great vacation home rental company that gives you a place to stay with lots more space than a regular hotel room for a lot less money.
For more information on what a vacation home is and what to expect when renting one, check out our interview of Fred Zorayq from Advantage Vacation Homes in Episode 219!
Alex from Houston wrote in to say that Mark didn’t pronounce his last name correctly even with the emails about the phonetics. Mark took a guess at what the issue was. If he’s wrong again, hopefully Alex will call the voicemail line with the correct pronunciation.
Stephan Morrell wrote in to disagree with Mark’s comparison between Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey’s. While Mark wasn’t thrilled with Chef Mickey’s but really likes Crystal Palace, Stephan feels exactly the opposite. Of course, Mike doesn’t like either.
Sean Jones called in to let us know that the next comic was delayed because he was at Disneyland, but he did offer to go on Splash Mountain for us. We hope that he enjoyed Splash, and we’ll wait for him to get the strip done on his schedule. He’s had a tough time recently, so we just hope that the vacation helped him and that he is recovering from his seriously stressful week.
John Papas from New York City wrote in to note that:
- He likes the food at Chef Mickey’s and always likes the service
- He has a “Non-Disney” tip that he sometimes takes his kids to a character meal at Sesame Place in Pennsylvania, they like it and it is sometimes is very cheap.
- He appreciated the info on the “Favorite Disney Parks Memory” contest. He did a quick “my favorite Disney parks video” with his daughters and they loved it. He thought it was fun even if he doesn’t win. Check it out below.
Ruth Lavery from Musselburgh, Scotland wrote in to let Mike know that he can get the Savanna Dry Cider through locations in the U.K.
Tom Seeberger wrote to let Mike know that Savanna Dry Cider is available in the U.S. at least through two importers in California. One should be able to ship it to Mike in Minnesota, while the other won’t ship outside of California. African Hut charges $11.49 per six-pack and will ship it, while Beverage Warehouse charges $10.99 per six-pack but will not ship out of California.
LD wrote in to ask why we didn’t include the Disney Character Warehouses in Wednesday’s show on saving money at Walt Disney World. We did, but we called them the Disney Outlet stores instead of Disney Character Warehouse. Thanks for including the correct name.
Sil Spagnuolo wrote in to comment on WALL-E, noting that he and his wife agree with Mike’s assessment that the movie is “dark.” This led to some more debate between Mark and Mike over the relative tone of the movie and how far the story went.
Sil also asked if we were interested in a trip report from his sailing on the upcoming Eastbound repositioning cruise of the Disney Wonder next month. Of course, we’re interested. Mark suggested that he also post a copy of the trip report to the MousePad trip Florida trip reports forum.
Vicki wrote in with another way to bring home cheap souvenirs from your Disney trips: Buy discounted Disney pins before you head down, then you can trade them for other, full-price Disney pins while you’re on your trip, and have fun talking with people at the same time.
