Leap day is here, bringing the start of the One More Disney Day events at both Disneyland park in California, and Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom park in Florida. Both parks open at 6:00 a.m. (local) today, Wednesday, and remain open until 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 1. In addition to the usual line-up of attractions and entertainment, Disney has special character encounters, dining specials, and merchandise to commemorate the unique event.
Several MousePlanet staff members are spending One More Disney Day at Disneyland, and plan to provide live updates throughout the duration of the event, and we also plan to keep tabs on events at the Magic Kingdom in Florida. Whether you are storming the parks with us, or wistfully following along from your home or workplace, we have all of the information to make the most of your One More Disney Day.
For those who want just the facts, keep an eye on our @MousePlanet Twitter account, which keeps the chatter to a minimum and posts the important operational updates from both Resorts, as well as any parking lot or theme park closures we learn about. Remember that the event is subject to capacity restrictions, and it's practically impossible to predict how busy the parks might be. In addition to our Twitter announcements, you can depend on us to provide these updates on our MousePlanet Facebook page.
Do you want more information about all of the special events inside Disneyland? How about photos of those special food items Disney is offering starting Wednesday night? In that case, follow the Twitter accounts of Adrienne Vincent-Phoenix at @MousePlanetAVP and Andrew Rich at @MPAndrew.
[This event runs until 6 a.m. Thursday morning, so if you have any of your devices set to give you an audible alert when you receive announcements from us, make sure to mute or lower their volume before you go to sleep.]
In addition to Twitter and Facebook, be sure to refresh this page throughout the day as we update it with news from MousePlanet staff and readers, as well as other resources.
If you would like to contribute your experiences or photos, be sure to use the hashtag #MP24 on your Tweets, or tag MousePlanet in your Facebook posts.
Coming to Disneyland? Don't forget our two quick MousePlanet meet-ups scheduled at noon, and again at 8:00 p.m. Stop by Carnation Plaza (where the swing dancing is held on weekend nights) to say hi to MousePlanet staff members and your fellow readers—you can even snag a MousePlanet button.
