Feature: Planning Mike’s Disney Wedding
On today’s show, Mike and Mark are joined by Mike’s fiancee Kayla to discuss all of the Disney touches that they will be adding to their wedding this weekend.
Kayla and Mike chose a contemporary Mickey head design for their invitations. There are 34 Disney designs available from Carlson Craft, most of them featuring Cinderella.
They registered for some gifts at Disney’s Honeymoon Registry. The Disney Parks Wedding Boutique is also online.
The wedding decorations were done in blue and yellow, which helped to support their Disney theme. While they didn’t get the $120 guest book, they will have Mickey and Minnie bride and groom ears, tables that are themed to Dsney couples rather than numbered, and other Disney theming.
The live music during the ceremony will include instrumental versions of classical Disney songs. During the ceremony, they will use some more Disney music.
The spotlight dance will be “When You Wish Upon a Star.” Other dances will include “The Best of Friends.” Other Disney music will be played throughout the reception.
The’ve also got some Disney-themed kids activities to entertain the little ones at the wedding.
The wedding cake will have a Mickey Mouse-like shape, with several Hidden Mickeys.
They will also use “Pop” champagne that Mike found at Epcot’s France pavilion, which is also used at Disney’s Pop Century Resort

Twitter/Facebook poll questions
Here are the responses to some questions that Mark was asking on Twitter and Facebook in the last week. If you’d like to get in on answering these questions in the future, you can follow Mark on Twitter or friend him on Facebook.
It’s tough being back at work after leaving Walt Disney World yesterday. What do you do to help ease your way back into reality?
- That is a toughie!! I listen to my Disney music and start working on movie of our video and photos taken on vacation. Still, it is soooo hard!
- Make a screensaver of the photos I took on the trip.
- start planning the NEXT vacation!
- Catch up listening to the podcasts I missed while away and start planning for the next trip. I also work on loading the digital photos from the cameras and having them printed. There is always something that the kids took that I didn’t see while on the trip, so it brings a smile to my face to see those. As a family we like to watch the video from the trip while we eat our lunch on Sundays.
- There is no easy way. We tend to look over the hundreds (thousands?) of pictures we took, start planning our next trip, and maybe recreate a dish we had at the parks for dinner or breakfast.
- Listen to Mouse Station. I put on headphones of an attraction, close my eyes and have the kids wheel me around the house in my computer chair.
- I always need 1 day to get used to not being at WDW. Straight from WDW to work? You’re a better man than I am, Mark. lol
- I cut to the front of the line at lunch and hand a Fastpass to the server behind the counter.
- start planning my next trip to the world
- Order the Photo Pass CD and start posting photos and more detailed trip reports! Start going through Disney’s offerings for photo greeting cards and consider a Christmas photo card to send this year… That’s what we’re doing (all of this) post Disneyland-trip 3.5 weeks ago.
- I get my photos printed and put into albums and/or upload them to facebook (my last 3 trips to DL & WDW are online btw). If I’ve taken video on the trip I show my parents and brother the tapes.
- Get planning the next trip lol
- Mope. And watch the clock for when Illuminations will start while I’m stuck at home.
- Putting Pictures of the vacation on the Desktop of my pc at work helps me to keep the disney Magic going
- Grab the phone and start booking my next trip, listen to music from the parks and scrapbook photos ๐ Reality stinks.
- Bring home some treats rice crispy Mickey Ears or Chip & Dale snack mix also check our photopass and personal pics.
Again, if you’d like to get in on answering these questions in the future, you can follow Mark on Twitter or friend him on Facebook.
