If this latest price hike on Disneyland Resort admission tickets caught you by surprise don't panic—there are still ways you can save on Disneyland tickets for your next trip. I'm only listing legitimate discounts and options below—no timeshare presentations or ticket sharing scams here. If you have a tip I haven't mentioned here, let me know!
1: Purchase through Get Away Today
MousePlanet travel partner Get Away Today will continue to sell tickets at the pre-increase pass through February 21, 2018. This discount is valid only via their website, or by calling 1-855-GET-AWAY. Be sure to mention you saw them on MousePlanet.
2: Check your local grocery store or Disney store
If your local grocery store or Disney Store sells Disneyland tickets, check to see if they have any at the old prices. While Disney Stores often pull the old tickets a few days before a price increase for just this reason, your local store may not have read the notice. Grocery stores are often slower to react to price changes, so you may have a one- or two-day window to hunt down a deal.
3: Check with your local travel agent
In the past, travel agencies and ticket resellers could quietly continue to sell their remaining tickets at the old prices after a price change, while inventory lasted. If you work with a travel agent that usually stocks Disneyland tickets, check with them.
4: Check with a Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotel
Likewise, Disneyland's Good Neighbor Hotels are usually allowed to quietly sell their remaining tickets at the old prices after a price change, while inventory lasts. This may give you a short window to find tickets at the old rate.
5: Consider the 2018 CityPASS
The 2018 Southern California CityPASS ($353/$324) includes a 3-Day Disneyland Resort Park Hopper Bonus Ticket (including one early-entry day), a one-day admission to Sea World San Diego, and a one-day admission to LEGOLAND California. The CityPASS expires 14 days after first use at any location, and the first use must occur by December 31, 2018. Purchase CityPASS through the Disneyland website , through Get Away Today, or on-site at the ticket booths of Disneyland Resort or the other theme parks included in the pass. You can also purchase directly from the CityPASS website, though a shipping charge may apply depending on how quickly you need the ticket.
When you purchase the CityPASS, you have the option of adding a one-day admission to either San Diego Zoo or San Diego Safari Park for an extra $44/$36. This upgraded pass is only available for purchase directly from the CityPASS website.
You can also upgrade your CityPASS to add more days at participating locations:
- Add a second day at LEGOLAND for $25. Purchase this upgrade at LEGOLAND on the day you use your CityPASS.
- Add LEGOLAND Water Park for $30 for ages 3+ ($5 for ages 2 and under). Purchase this upgrade at LEGOLAND on the day you use your CityPASS
- Upgrade your Disneyland ticket to another ticket or annual passport of equal or greater value. For the current Southern California CityPASS, a credit of $330 for ages 10+ ($314 for ages 3–9) will be applied toward another ticket of equal or greater value. Purchase the upgrade at Disneyland before the end of your third visit.
6: Need an Annual Passport? Consider upgrading the 2018 CityPASS
As detailed above, the 2018 Southern California CityPASS includes a 3-Day Disneyland Resort Park Hopper Bonus Ticket, which can be upgraded to a Disneyland Resort Annual Passport. You’ll receive the Box Office value of the 3 Day Park Hopper ticket towards your upgrade, which is now $330. While this does not save you money overall, purchasing and upgrading a CityPASS basically gets you a Disneyland Annual Passport at the current rate, plus a one-day admission to Sea World San Diego, and a one-day admission to LEGOLAND California for just $23 more. Spend a weekend visiting San Diego attractions, then have the rest of the year to visit Disneyland.
