Featured Topic – the Cinderella Castle Suite, with special guest Kim Howe
In this week’s feature, Kim Howe joined Mark and Mike to discuss her amazingly lucky week at MouseFest 2007, culminating in her stay in the Cinderella Castle Suite.
By chance, Kim and Mark ended up flying down to MouseFest on the same plane and decided to sit together and chat. Kim told Mark about winning tickets to an Illuminations Dessert Party being hosted by Deb Wills, and they talked about how lucky Kim was. Of course, things only got better from there.
Kim also talked about how she and her friend Lisa always end up hanging out together during MouseFest because they just seem to like the same kind of events and they get along so well. Mark ended up directing Lisa over to Kim during MouseFest 101, then pointing them out during the session as two people who met during MouseFest and just seem to be inseparable friends during the event.
Lisa (in trademark Santa Pooh hat) and Kim enjoy Dole Whips two days before Kim won the stay in the Cinderella Castle Suite in December, 2007.
Kim and Lisa were trying to rush to ride Soarin’ in order to make David Koenig’s Stroll in Card’s Footsteps meet at MouseFest when Kim ended up sitting in the right seat at the right time – which happened to be the worst seat in the house – end seat, bottom row. But sitting there was what won her a night in the Cinderella Castle Suite. And then, after verfiying her eligibility and filling out all of the paperwork, she and Lisa won Dream Fastpasses and Dream Ears on their way to the Mega Mouse Meet, where they told everybody about their great fortune before racing to get ready to meet their tour guide and become the grand marshals of the Disney Dreams Come True Parade.
Kim was able to bring five others to share the suite with her, and selected Lisa, the two cast member friends that she was staying with, and another friend and her son. The Dream Squad members and others that they met throughout their special day seemed thrilled that cast members were going to get to stay in the suite.
Kim always plans out everything that she does in detail, so the luxury of having someone else doing the planning for her was a wonderful treat.
The best part of the whole thing for Kim was being able to share it with friends who could understand how special the prize actually was.
We didn’t have time to cover her entire day, but the rest of it can be read in Kim’s eight-part blog entry over at AllEars.Net.
