Tip of the Week
This week's tip comes via voicemail from Wesley in Vermont, who called to suggest an alternate way to get from the Animal Kingdom Lodge to the Magic Kingdom other than taking the “oh, so plebian” bus the whole way there. While entertaining and utilizing a variety of transportation methods, Wesley's suggestion would take hours instead of the 20-minute direct bus ride.
What's the most circuitous route that you can come up with to get from Animal Kingdom Lodge to the Magic Kingdom without repeating a stopover?

Mike and Mark talk about what they would wish for if they were given three wishes about the next major construction project at Walt Disney World after New Fantasyland.
Mike's first wish is to expand Disney's Animal Kingdom to be a full nighttime park.
Mark wished for either the construction of Australia at Disney's Animal Kingdom on the land between Asia and Africa or for moving Festival of the Lion King to somewhere near Africa along the long back walkway and finally building Beastlie Kingdomme, also considering the possibility of adding of a World of Color-type show in the open area of Discovery River between Discovery Island, Dinoland, and Asia.
Mike wished for a full roll-out of tablet computer-based menus at all full-service dining locations.
Mark's almost used his second wish on more countries at Epcot, but decided to do something different and wish for the long-rumored construction of the Monsters Inc. door coaster to happen in the Pixar Place soundstages at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
Mike used his final wish on a new land at Disney's Hollywood Studios to bring back a “working studio” feel, perhaps with a Mythbusters Live attraction.
Mark's third wish is to use the recently-announced pause in construction of Hyperion Wharf at Downtown Disney to rethink the plans and to bring back Pleasure Island as it once was, including the Adventurers Club, Comedy Warehouse and dance clubs. He'd also like to see World of Color get built on Village Lake (or whatever it's called).

Today is the day that registration opens for The MouseAdventure Zone, September 24 & 25 at Disneyland. Registration opens at 8 a.m. Pacific Time. This time, there will be Basic and Advanced divisions. Expect the game to sell out quickly (last time, Advanced sold out in about an hour and Basic sold out a few hours after that), so register as quickly as you can!
Registration for MouseAdventure World Explorers III is still open. That game will take place November 12 at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Mark will be there to help run that game.
Magical Moment
This week's Magical Moment (plus a tip and a story idea) comes in a voicemail from Vicki from Starksboro.
Vicki and her family (including Wesley from Vermont, who provided this week's tip) returned their room at the Swan & Dolphin Resort from a long day at Disney's Animal Kingdom intending to take a quick swim before eating at the Boardwalk and then watch Illuminations at Epcot. Instead, they discovered that Saturday night the resort turns off the waterfall, puts up a movie screen, and throws floats out into the pool for movie night. Vicki and her family decided to get take-out sushi from Kimono's and watch Up by the pool, and they ended up having a great night which turned out to be one of the most magical memories of their trip.
Vicki's tip is to not be so park-focused that you miss the little things, and her story idea is to pick the best things to do outside the parks. We've been considering that topic, and will probably do it in the near future.
