Tokyo Desktops

March 15, 2006 by Alex Stroup

I just returned from a week in Japan with several other MousePlanet staffers and fellow travelers. Three days of the trip were spent at the Tokyo Disneyland Resort and while I didn’t photograph things in a sufficiently methodical manner for photo tours of specific lands or attractions, we did think some of our readers might appreciate some Tokyo Disneyland desktops. These photos were all taken at or around the Tokyo DisneySea park.

A construction photo of the nearly complete Tower of Terror.

Another angle on Tower of Terror, opening this fall.

A walkway at Mediterranean Harbor.

A dome in the Arabian Coast area.

The gondola loading area in Mediterranean Harbor.

These Venetian buildings are actually part of the exterior facade of the Hotel MiraCosta.

This Mickey Mouse statue is outside the entrance to the park, setting the tone for what is to come.

One of the iconic images from Tokyo DisneySea; of course I had to take a picture.

The back side of Mediterranean Harbor with the very active volcano of Mysterious Island in the background.

Inside of the volcano you will find the world of Jules Verne brought to life in what may be the best visual space Disney Imagineers have ever created.

Aquatopia uses trackless technology to drive passengers through a water park in the Port Discovery area.

King Triton in the indoor ride area of Mermaid Lagoon.

A market scene in the Arabian Coast area.
