Do you prefer to stay on property, off property, or a mix at WDW? What could make you change your mind?
- – On property unless I’m slotted up in an All-Star vacation home with a private pool and hot tub.
- On property always! Nothing could change my mind.
- on property…would only go off if offered a free stay in someones time share or if no cabins/suites available on property

- I never stayed on property when I lived with my parents. It was always Days Inn for us. Now that I have my own family, I’m planning a pop century visit sometime soon.
- I’ve only ever stayed on property, so I can’t really compare. I don’t really drive in my normal life, though, so I suspect that being off property would be stressful to me, since I’d have to drive on unfamiliar roads.
- On property– extended time in the parks, transportation from the airport, transportation on property. Like they say, location, location, location!

- My family must stay on property. We love the atmos and being near the parks. (Although we might stay off for a good price cut.)
Mike has stayed off property many times, in many places. He’ll often stay on property so that he won’t have to rent a car, but when he has a car he has no problem staying off property. Mark usually stays on property, largely because he’s a DVC member, but because he’s going down more often than he has points to cover he has been staying on a cash basis. He has stayed off property and likely will again in the near future.
How long is your average Walt Disney World vacation? How often do you go?
- Our vacations are about 8 days long and we try to make it an annual trip, however this year we are trying to squeeze in another trip with the 4/3 deal.
- 8 days 7 nights usually
- Since we’ve joined DVC we try to take longer trips. Averaged 10 nights the last two trips. I would think if we average one trip to DW a year it would most likely be around 10 nights a year.
- abt 8 days in length. we go about every 2-3 years
- Before we moved to FL – 8-10 nights.
- 8 Days and not long enough! We live 6 hours from Disneyland so when we get a chance to go to DW we try to make the most of it!
- 6 days average. I was averaging once every 4 years.
- i ussually go for 9 days every december but this year i am going to Disney World in august for 6 days, Disneyland in september for 4 days, Disney World for 4 days in october, and my ussual 9 days at Disney World in december.
- 7 to 10 days. Every one to 2 years…. Wish it could be more often!! We like End of September, after all the kids are back in school, and lines are shorter. Luckily we haven’t run into any hurricanes, but had a few close calls! Next, I’d like to visit in early-to-mid May and take in the Flower & Garden Festival at Epcot.
- my average vaca is a week and I go at least twice a year but have been averaging 4 times a year lately!
- Suzy and I go for about 2 weeks every other year. that gives us the chance to explore a lot of the World and even(gasp!) leave the property. Alas, I’m not sure it’s going to happen this year…
- On average, 5 days. I’ve been on a few 7 and 8 day trips but most of my trips have been 4 or 5 days. I’ve averaged a trip every 1.5 years approximately since 1998. Don’t have a set schedule about going, just get down there whenever a good chance arises. My wife and I, along with my mom and my sister and her family, are going in a few weeks to celebrate my mother’s recent retirement, to excited to sleep.
- The longest has been 7 days and the shortest 4 days. Our vacation time is always determined by work/school schedules. We also like to take a few local short trips during the year, so our major vacation is usually limited to one week. We also don’t have a set schedule about how often we go. There were 18 months between our last two trips. Now that our son is in college, I see us taking more frequent trips due to a more flexible schedule.
- It costs so much for the flight and the price per day goes down so quickly (tix etc), that we usually go for 10 days. This time, we’re going for 11.
- We go every year. Usually it is for 5-7 days.
- We stay at WDW at least 7 days since we come from Hawaii. last trip was 10 days…. We don’t go to WDW as often as we would like but get to Disneyland at least once a year
- 9Days/8Nights each year for the past 4 years the streak is in jeopardy this year.
- We usually do one 2 week trip and two (2) 4-5 day trips a year
- Usual trip is 9-11 days once a year. May have to readjust now that kid is starting school in the fall, though.
- 9 days is my normal trip to the world and usually annually.
- 8 days and 7 nights. We’re trying to go every other year. Once daughter is too old to be a camper it could be every year.
