New York Giants' Eli Manning “Going to Disney World” today
Eli Manning, quarterback of the Super Bowl champion New York Giants and Most Valuable Player of Super Bowl XLVI, will make good on his promise in the “I'm Going to Disney World!” commercial filmed last night, and will appear in a mini-parade at the Magic Kingdom today. The Giants beat the New England Patriots 21 to 17 to win the National Football League's championship game. This is the 45th in the iconic series of commercials, and is also not the first time Manning made the proclamation in a commercial a win at the Big Game; his first was for Super Bowl XLII in 2008.
The parade is scheduled to start at the Liberty Square bridge at 1:20 p.m., go around the hub and down Main Street, U.S.A., finishing in Town Square. The time is subject to change due to travel for Manning from Indianapolis, site of last night's game. Last year's parade featuring Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers was delayed over an hour and a half due to travel issues.
To accommodate the parade, some entertainment schedule changes have been made, with an additional Dream Along with Mickey show scheduled at 12:00 noon, and the 12:00 Trolley show and the 1:15 and 2:15 Dream Along with Mickey shows being cancelled.

Tour Disney's Animal Kingdom with Dr. Jane Goodall
UPDATE: We have been advised by the Jane Goodall Institute that this trip had to be postponed due to a scheduling conflict. We'll let you know when we hear of a new date.
For the second year, the Jane Goodall Institute is providing the opportunity for guests to participate in an “Adventure of a Lifetime” and explore Disney's Animal Kingdom with Dr. Jane Goodall herself. The 2012 Walt Disney World Safari VIP Weekend takes place April 20–22 this year, and includes all scheduled events, two nights in a savannah view room at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, select meals, a three-day Park Hopper pass, and more.
Events include:
- Sharing stories with Dr. Goodall around a campfire over hot chocolate and s'mores;
- A character breakfast with Dr. Goodall at Backstage Prop Shop in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge;
- Enjoying the Backstage Safari Tour;
We haven't been able to confirm the pricing yet, but since a number of events included in last year's event are not listed for this year, and the event is one day shorter, it is likely that the cost will be somewhat less that last year. Last year's price tag was $8,500 per adult or $7,500 per child.
As of Sunday, February 5, the trip is not listed on the Jane Goodall Institute website, but information should be there shortly. Space will be extremely limited, so you'll want to keep watch and make your reservation quickly.
For those who cannot afford the cost of the event but would like to hear Dr. Goodall speak, she is giving a keynote at Rollins College on April 19, the night before the event.

Sorcerers now saving the Magic Kingdom
We hear that the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom game is unofficially open daily starting yesterday, but is not officially open until February 21. The game lets guests do battle with the forces of evil in the form of more than 20 Disney villains attempting to take over the Magic Kingdom. Utilizing QR code technology similar to that used in the Mickey's Midship Detective Agency game aboard the Disney Dream, the cards activate and interact with portals set up in Adventureland, Frontierland, Liberty Square, Fantasyland, and Main Street, U.S.A.
Guests go to game headquarters at the Main Street Fire Station, where they are issued a map, one identity card, and five “spell” cards with which to do battle with the villains. The identity card identifies the guest to the game so that their storyline will be continuous from portal to portal, and each spell card provides power with which to battle the villains. Each spell is themed to the character on the card, such as Rafiki's Wisdom Stick, the Queen of Hearts' Card Army, Pumbaa's Odorous Gas, Bolt's Super Bark, and Monstro's Water Spout. The 70 possible spell cards are divided into nine spell classes: Princesses, Heroes, Machines, Toys, Animals, Mystics, Monsters, Fairies, and Warriors. Cards are also marked with indications of their rarity: stars for rare cards, moons for uncommon cards, and planets for common cards.
The general storyline holds that the villains are trying to steal one of four shattered pieces of Merlin's crystal ball. Guests are deputized by Merlin as sorcerer's apprentices to help to prevent this from happening. There are eight different adventures for guests to complete. Those finishing all of them get a bonus battle. So far, only the basic level has been tested. The moderate level is likely rolling out shortly, with a high-difficulty expert level further down the line. As the other levels are available, guests should be able to select their level at sign-up time.
