Turnstiles disappearing at parks | Villains Celebrate the Magic too | Hollywood Studios repaved | Animal Kingdom Gardens Kiosk opens | Princess Fairytale Hall marquee revealed | Construction update | Quick takes | Crowd update
Turnstiles on the way out
As MyMagic+ rolls out around the resort, the turnstiles are being removed at the Walt Disney World parks. All of the entrances with turnstiles at Disney's Hollywood Studios have been blocked off, and the rest of the parks are expected to follow suit this week. Any guests holding a paper ticket must first exchange it for an RFID-enabled pass at guest relations first so that it will work with the new touch entry points.
Villains added to Celebrate the Magic
As the first hints of Halloween appear along Main Street, a new segment has been added to the Celebrate the Magic castle show at the Magic Kingdom featuring several of the villains we all love to hate. Ursula appears in her underwater lair, Chernabog rises to spread his wings across the front of the castle, and Maleficent appears in dragon form amid a thorny forest. The new segment has been added for a limited time now through November 1.

Disney's Hollywood Studios updates
The Streets of America have been repaved, but not with gold. The streets have undergone extensive repaving, which is now complete. Studios Central has several photos of the shiny new streets. In addition, all of the entry points at Disney's Hollywood Studios are now turnstile-free (as mentioned in above, you have a paper ticket, you will need to exchange it for the RFID-enabled version at guest relations before entering the park).
Animal Kingdom Gardens Kiosk opens
Dining out with food allergies is challenging, but the Disney foods team does its best to provide support and information. Disney's Animal Kingdom now offers a new resource that allows guests with food allergies or sensitivities to speak with cast members about food options in the park, and also purchase snacks that are labeled for those with sensitivities to items such as gluten, soy, and dairy. The Gardens Kiosk is located on Discovery Island and is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
Princess Fairytale Hall set to open September 18
The marquee has gone up on the outside of Princess Fairytale Hall, and an opening date of September 18 has been set. Once complete, guests can meet either Cinderella or Rapunzel and one other princess.

Resorts
As reported in July, some refrigerators in non-Disney Vacation Club rooms at Walt Disney World are being replaced due to a product defect. All Walt Disney World Resort rooms with the exception of DVC Villas, the family suites at the Art of Animation and All-Star Movie resorts, and the cabins at Fort Wilderness are impacted. Disney says “the schedule for replacing the refrigerators at these Resorts is expected to last several months.”
In the interim, if you have a reservation at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel and need a refrigerator for medical reasons, we recommend contacting your resort directly to inquire about availability during your trip. The hotel should be able to arrange for one if your room does not yet have a new refrigerator, but supplies may be limited while they work to replace all of the malfunctioning units. Remember, Value resorts do not include in-room refrigerators.
