New princess dining option at Citricos
With Cinderella's Royal Table closing for refurbishment, Disney has decided to provide princess fans an alternative dining experience, according to the Disney Parks Blog.
Beginning January 8, 2015, visitors looking for a royal dining experience can head over to Citricos at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Walt Disney World Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members can make reservations beginning December 3 and the general public can make reservations beginning December 4.
The restaurant will serve breakfast and brunch between 8:00 a.m. and 2:20 p.m. At the meal, Cinderella will greet visitors as they arrive and Disney princesses will visit each table for photos and autographs. Then, the princesses host a “Magical Wishing Ceremony” complete with wishing wands or wishing swords for the children.
The Disney Parks Blog provided the menu for guests to preview:

Three new experiences join Holidays Around the World at Epcot
Visitors to Epcot's Holidays Around the World can enjoy three new performances this year, according to a Disney Parks Blog post. China, Mexico, and Morocco host the new shows and here's a rundown of what they are:
China: This year, a Chinese Lion Dance will take place in the World Showcase Pavilion. The dance symbolizes good luck and happiness in honor of major Chinese holidays including the Lantern Festival and the Lunar New Year.
Mexico: “Fiesta de Navidad” showcases mariachis and dancers who celebrate traditional holiday customs in a musical and interactive performance.
Morocco: A storyteller invites guests to join her on a journey to experience holiday traditions, festivals and celebrations that Morocco celebrate each year.
Holidays Around the World at Epcot begins November 28, 2014 and runs through December 29, 2014. For more information on Walt Disney World holiday events, make sure to check out the MousePlanet Holiday Guide!
Disney to set up EpiPen® stations in theme parks and cruise ships
Disney signed an agreement with Mylan, Inc., manufacturer of EpiPen® and EpiPen Jr® to provide treatment stations for people with severe allergic reactions, according to a Mylan press release.
As part of the agreement, domestic theme parks and cruise ships will update maps and signage to highlight locations with emergency medical services and nurses trained to administer the EpiPen® and EpiPen Jr®. Visitors can expect to see these changes start by the end of 2014, according the press release.
EpiPen® medication can help save the life of a person suffering from anaphylaxis, a severe allergic reaction that can cause a rash, throat swelling, face swelling, respiratory distress and even cardiovascular problems, possibly leading to death.
“For our guests who live with severe allergies every day, identifying EpiPen locations is an additional tool they’ll have for their anaphylaxis management plan,” said Dr. Pamela Hymel, chief medical officer for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. “This new strategic alliance will help raise awareness of EpiPen locations so that our Guests with severe allergies may have the best possible experience at our parks and on our cruise ships.”

Disney announced new discounts for La Nouba, the Cirque du Soleil show located in Downtown Disney, according to an Orlando Sentinel report.
Discounted tickets start at $54 for adults and $45 for children ages 3-9. Visitors can purchase the discounted tickets for performances now through December 19, 2014.
Disney still offers a special La Nouba dining package which includes a choice of a meal at either Wolfgang Puck Grand Cafe, Splitsville Luxury Lanes or Planet Hollywood. An nonalcoholic drink, entree and dessert make up the meal included in the package. Package prices start at $99 for adults and $89 for children ages 3 to 9.

Views from Around “the World”
So much to see around the Walt Disney World Resort with all the holiday events, a new movie opening and lots of construction projects underway. Let's take a look around to see what's been going on this past week.

Walt Disney World Holiday Event Guide
Heading to Walt Disney World during the holiday season? Here's a helpful guide of all the special events happening around the resort to help you plan a magical holiday trip!
Magic Kingdom

A Frozen Holiday Wish: The Walt Disney World holiday season kicked off with a live streaming event of the new A Frozen Holiday Wish show in front of Cinderella Castle. According to Disney Parks Blog, the resort will share a number of live streaming events throughout the season. Didn't get a chance to catch the live stream? Watch the video below!

You can also head over to our MousePad forum to get a full review of the show.
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party: This annual hard-ticket party shows off the best and and most festive side of Walt Disney World during the holidays. Here is the rundown of the daily events you can expect at the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party:
The event runs from 7 p.m. to midnight on select nights through December 19. In addition to the returning Christmas Party attractions like the the fireworks show, this year debuts new Frozen additions to Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, a new meet-and-greet with Jack Skellington as Sandy Claws in Storybook Circus, and the “Holiday Hootenanny!” at the Diamond Horseshoe.
The Entertainment Schedule is packed, so you'll need to decide what's most important to see during your 5 hours at the party:
- Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas Parade featuring the Frozen characters – 8:15 and 10:30 p.m.
- A Frozen Holiday Wish – 6:15 and 8:00 p.m.
- Celebrate the Magic – 9:15 p.m.
- Holiday Wishes – 9:30 p.m.
- Celebrate the Season – 7:30, 10:05 and 11:20 p.m.
Since A Frozen Holiday Wish and Celebrate the Magic are offered on non-party nights, you can safely skip those and see them another night if you want to maximize your party time.
There are two Dance Parties, with some interesting characters:
- Holiday Hootenanny at the Diamond Horseshoe, featuring the Country Bears, Clarabelle Cow, Horace Horsecollar, and Clara Cluck.
- Club Tinsel at Cosmic Rays, featuring Phineas and Ferb
Plus, there are 18 Character Appearance spots marked on the event map. The big new addition is Sandy Claws, making his first event appearance at Storybook Circus.
Cocoa and cookies (or “healthy alternatives,” should you want them) are available at:
- Sunshine Tree Terrace
- Tortuga Tavern
- Columbia Harbour House
- Pinocchio Village Haus
- Tomorrowland Terrace
- Cosmic Ray's Starlight Caf
- The Crystal Palace
Event merchandise, including a pin, t-shirt, ornament and limited edition Magic Band, are available at:
- Emporium
- Frontier Trading Post (pin only)
- Ye Olde Christmas Shop (Shirts, pin, ornaments only)
- Big Top Souvenirs (Magic Band only)
- Star Traders (shirt and pin only)
Most park rides are open during the event, including the Jingle Cruise and the new Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Based on wait times during Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, cast members said the line for the Mine Train is only about 30 minutes. I'm not a big fan of doing rides during the special events, since you can do those during normal operating hours, but people who could not get a FastPass+ for this new ride may want to take advantage of the shortest standby lines you're likely to see.
Epcot
Epcot is beautiful and lots of fun during the holiday season with a series of events that all ages will love:

Share in the sights and sounds of some of the world’s greatest holiday festivities during Holidays Around the World at Epcot®. Candlelight Processional – (World Showcase, American Gardens Theatre) – 5:00pm, 6:45pm & 8:15pm
One of the most beloved holiday traditions at Epcot® is the Candlelight Processional – a joyous retelling of the Christmas story by a celebrity narrator accompanied by a 50-piece orchestra and a glorious mass choir.

QuickTakes
… An Orlando Sentinel report talked about the possibility of the government removing Walt Disney World and Disneyland as a no-fly zone restricted area. Usually, no-fly zone areas deal with locations of national security and not theme parks. However, these restrictions have been in place since 2003, and mean that anyone violating Walt Disney World airspace can result in “interception, interrogation, and federal prosecution.” Some opponents of Walt Disney's World air security status claim it has more to do with limiting banner advertising on the back of airplanes and that there is no inherent risk of an air attack, but Disney officials argue that the zones protect the public.
The Orlando Business Journal published a story about Disney purchase of 3,000 acres of wetlands. According to the story, Disney claims the company has plans to conserve it, but the purchase could also mean more development. Disney has not confirmed any such developent at this point, but this is a story worth following in the coming weeks.
Disney's Animal Kingdom's cotton-top tamarin team were recently honored by the Columbian television station, Carocol, which awarded them with first prize for protecting the environment in Columbia. Congratulations!
Discussion of the Week
MousePad forum member ScottC4746 asked a question about the Disney Dining Plan this week:
I purchased the deluxe dining plan for my June 2015 trip. Question is it is 3 meals per person per night and two snacks per person per night. Flying in from the west coast we may be arriving around dinner time the first night and leaving late afternoon on the way home. Will we be able to redeem dinner the arrival night and breakfast and lunch the departing day?

Resorts
As previously reported by MousePlanet, some refrigerators in non-Disney Vacation Club rooms at Walt Disney World are being replaced due to a product defect. All Walt Disney World Resort rooms—with the exception of DVC Villas, the family suites at the Art of Animation and All-Star Movie resorts, and the cabins at Fort Wilderness—are impacted. Disney says “the schedule for replacing the refrigerators at these Resorts is expected to last several months.”
In the interim, if you have a reservation at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel and need a refrigerator for medical reasons, we recommend contacting your resort directly to inquire about availability during your trip. The hotel should be able to arrange for one if your room does not yet have a new refrigerator, but supplies may be limited while they work to replace all of the malfunctioning units.
