Fans of the four-year-old “Celebrate the Magic” projection show have just a few chances to see it before it retires this Thursday, November 3. On Friday, November 4, an all-new show called “Once Upon a Time” debuts at the Magic Kingdom.

“Once Upon a Time” will include several scenes from Beauty and the Beast. Photo © Disney.

Mrs. Potts (from Beauty and the Beast) serves as narrator for the 14-minute show, which includes scenes from Peter Pan, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland and more.

Showtimes have only been published for the first three nights, with a 9:45 p.m. show on Friday, November 4, and 10:45 p.m. shows on Saturday and Sunday, November 5 and 6.

Pricier Candlelight dining for 2016

The only way to ensure a reserved seat for the Candlelight Processional is to book a Candlelight Dining Package. All Candlelight dining package includes an appetizer, entree, dessert, and non-alcoholic drink at table service restaurants, or a full buffet at The Garden Grill. Each member of the party will also receive access to the reserved Candlelight Processional viewing area, and also reserved viewing for the Illuminations fireworks show.

The dining packages have been on sale since June, but reservations will start to fill up fairly quickly now that the narrators have been (mostly) finalized.

Lunch packages are $39.00-$69.00 ($14.00-$41.00 for children) and dinner packages are $51.00-$75.99 ($17.50-$41.00), with price depending on meal and restaurant. We note a substantial jump in pricing at some locations this year, with many restaurants now charging the same for lunch and dinner seating. In 2015, lunch at Coral Reef was $58.99 for adults, $14.99 for children. This year, the prices are $69 (adult) and $24 (child) for lunch or dinner. Akershus Royal Banquet Hall has added breakfast, lunch and dinner service for 2016, with breakfast service also available at Trattoria Al Forno (Disney's BoardWalk) and Captain's Grille (Disney's Yacht Club Resort)

Restaurants, meals, and pricing are detailed below. Call (407) 939-3463 to book, or visit the Walt Disney World website to book online.

Any remaining theater seats for the nightly shows are filled on a first come, first serve basis, though you can usually snag a spot in the standing-room-only viewing area.

Like the new Guest Relations desk inside the exit area of Space Mountain (the Tomorrowland Power & Light Co.), Disney's Animal Kingdom now has a new Guest Relations desk near the entrance to Kilimanjaro Safari in the tent-like structure that used to have a sign boasting “Last Film” before the Safari. Additional near-ground level details of Pandora are emerging above the construction wall near Tiffins Restaurant and Nomad Lounge (behind Pizzafari). This and That

The kiosk on the causeway bridge near Rainforest Cafe ceased operating as AristoCrepes late last week and now sells more generic snacks. Photo by Alan S. Dalinka.

…Disney is tinkering with the menu and operation of AristoCrepes, one of three Disney-operated food stands that opened in Disney Springs this past April. The menu of savory and dessert crepes is now available at nearby Amorette’s Patisserie, but only during selected hours that vary by day. The former AristoCrepes kiosk will now open only on busier days, and sells more traditional Disney snacks, like soft pretzels, chips, popcorn, and soft drinks.

…The Garden View Lounge at Disney's Grand Floridian Hotel has debuted a new evening offering called the Garden View Champagne and Wine Lounge. Open from 7 to 10 p.m. each evening now through December 10, the lounge offers a small menu of champagne and wines by the glass, along with small plates and appetizers.

…A performer in the Cirque du Soleil production of La Nouba in Disney Springs was injured during rehearsal on October 20, according to Theme Park University, and an online collection has been established to help her husband care for the performer and their 6-month-old son. Karina Silva Poirier reportedly fell 9 meters to the stage, and suffered multiple fractures to her face and skull. She is being treated at an Orlando-area hospital.

Travel Discounts for Canada Residents

MousePlanet reader Scott S. alerted us to a new offer for Canadian residents. Canadian residents receive a 25% discount on 4-day or longer tickets purchased by February 28, 2017. The discounted rate for a 4-Day adult base ticket is $244.00 USD, compared to $325.00 USD when purchased at the gate. A 10-day adult base ticket is $300 USD, a savings of $100 from the main gate price.

This offer is only good for Canadian citizens with valid passport, or residents of Canada with valid proof of Canadian residency. The tickets are sold as an exchange certificate, and must be exchanged for park ticket upon arrival. There is no expiration date on the unused tickets, but once activated the tickets must be used within 14 days of first entry.

You can see the full details on the Walt Disney World website. Thanks Scott for the heads up!
