Guided tours are a good way to get a different perspective on the Disney theme parks, or take a deeper dive into a specific area of interest. The Disneyland Resort has been slow to bring back all of their guided tours since the parks reopened following the pandemic, but today announced the return of two tours which have always been popular with visitors.
The Cultivating the Magic tour takes a closer look at the horticulture of Disneyland, from the famous Mickey planter which greets visitors at the main entrance, to the plants selected to represent the future in Tomorrowland. This is a great tour for anyone with a green thumb, or who wants to learn more about this often overlooked element of Disney place making.
This walking tour includes a ride on the World Famous Jungle Cruise, and each participant receives a souvenir of the tour. The tour is fully wheelchair-accessible.
The Disneyland Railroad tour is a journey into one of Walt Disney’s passions, and gives guests a rare opportunity to go backstage and visit the Disneyland Roundhouse. The 2-hour tour also offers (weather depending) the chance to look inside the Lilly Belle Presidential Car, and take a ride along the Rivers of America.
This tour is wheelchair-accessible, however guests must be able to transfer into a provided chair to board the train.
Both tours are open to guests of all ages, but those under 14 must be accompanied by an adult age 18 or older. Disneyland theme park admission is not included, and park reservations are also required.
Reservations open April 30 for both tours, and tours begin May 11. Disney has not yet released the pricing, nor have they disclosed the duration of the Cultivating the Magic tour. The 2-hour Walt’s Main Street Story tour runs $160.00, and I expect pricing for these offerings to be comparable.
