Disneyland Resort Update for December 22, 2025

December 22, 2025 by Adrienne Vincent-Phoenix

A Wet Christmas Week at Disneyland

One of the busiest weeks of the year at Disneyland may turn out to be a bust, due to an atmospheric river which is projected to dump as much as 8″ of rain this week. The storm is expected to be strongest Tuesday through Thursday, meaning a soggy Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in Anaheim.

Not surprisingly, tickets and theme park reservations are wide open this week. Even looking ahead to the days between Christmas and New Years, traditionally the busiest of the year, there are no sold-out dates at either park. Obviously this is all subject to change with the weather forecast, and the first day of real sun should bring the crowds back in full force.

All of us at MousePlanet wish you and your families a merry Christmas.

lululemon opens in Downtown Disney

Athletic appearel and lifestyle retailer lululemon opened a new store in Downtown Disney Anaheim this weekend, ahead of their planned “early 2026” debut. The store carries a classic assortment of lululemon basics and accessories. Disney fans note: this store does not currently stock pieces from the Disney x lululemon collaboration.

The new lululemon store occupies a portion of the former ESPN Zone building in Downtown Disney. At least two more sections of the building will open with new tennants, according to permits filed with the city of Anaheim.

Refurbishment revisit

A few oddities have appeared on the Disneyland calendar, and I wanted to share them for those planning trips next month.

At Disneyland, the Meet Tinker Bell in Pixie Hollow attraction has no hours posted on any Tuesday or Thursday in January. This is unlikely to be refurbishment related – the area was closed for almost a year for ongoing construction – and is more likely a staffing cut.

Fantasmic is also dark Monday – Thursday in January, and likely into early February. This is typical for the January “slow” season, and also related to the scheduled refurbishments of the Mark Twain and the Sailing Ship Columbia.

In Disney California Adventure, Redwood Creek Challenge Trail does not appear on the official refurbishment list, but the area also has no operating hours posted starting January 8, 2026.  We would expect the area to close for a few days to remove the holiday overlay, but a four-week closure seems unusual.

Finally, while Disney has yet to announce a closing date for Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue!, the ride has operating hours posted through February 2.

Last week for Candy Canes

The 2025 Candy Cane season at the Disneyland Resort ends this week, with four final chances to get the handmade treats.

  • Monday, December 22 – Disneyland Candy Palace
  • Tuesday, December 23 – Disney California Adventure Trolley Treats
  • Wednesday, December 24 – Disneyland Candy Palace
  • Thursday, December 23 – Disney California Adventure Trolley Treats

This and That

…Tickets are available for just three of the Disneyland After Dark: Sweethearts’ Nite events in January and February. At press time, only the January 22, January 27 and February 10 events were still available. All other nights are sold out. This event sells out annually, and this is likely the last week tickets will be available.

…At press time, tickets for both Disneyland After Dark: 70 Years of Favorites events in March were still available.

We also recommend checking the convention calendar at the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor and Convention Bureau website. When looking at that site, remember to note both the number of people and the number of rooms resulting from each convention. A gathering of 25,000 people booking few room nights (indicating most will be driving in to the area for their meeting) can impact traffic around the resort much more than a crowd of 25,000 staying in area hotels. Of course, that second group is going to make finding a hotel room more difficult (and possibly more expensive), so it’s best to book your own room as early as possible if you see that a big convention is in town during your trip.

Tickets, Discounts and Promotions

Disneyland prices as of October 8, 2025.

Note: MousePlanet does not edit past Updates to reflect price increases; for up-to-date prices, check the most recent Disneyland Resort Update. Several current promotions offer discounted admission to the Disneyland Resort. For your convenience, we have grouped the discount offers based on the number of days the tickets are valid. Check out the category that best matches the amount of time you plan to spend at the resort, and pick the offer that works best for you. And keep those tips coming—let us know if you find a better or different offer, so we can share it with other readers!

This first section is a list of discounts on ticket-only purchases. Though it has become more common in recent years, Disneyland tickets are rarely offered at deep discounts unless you are a resident of Southern California or Northern Mexico. For residents outside that area, the best discounts available tend to be simple advance purchase discounts. If you know of any additional discounts, offers, promotions, or contests that should be listed in this section, drop us a line. Note, we are no longer listing offers from the Anaheim-Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau, as their convenience fee negates any savings.

Don’t get scammed! Never buy tickets from an unofficial or secondary outlet, such as through eBay or Craigslist. Never rent or purchase tickets from people approaching you outside the gates stating they have remaining days or leftover tickets. This practice is against the terms of use for Disneyland admission, and may result in denial of entry. It is also common for criminals to shoplift inactivated Disney theme park tickets from supermarkets to resell them. There is no way to determine if these tickets are valid until you try to use them to enter the parks. Only purchase Disney theme park tickets directly from Disney, an authorized seller, or travel agency like MousePlanet travel partner Get Away Today.

California Resident Park Hopper Ticket

The California Resident Park Hopper ticket is $249, a savings of more than 50% when compared to the new price ($526) of a 3-day park hopper ticket. The ticket is valid for all ages 3 and older, for visits between January 1 through May 21, 2026. Our travel partners at Get Away Today are offering the same ticket for only $204.

Theme park reservations are required to use this ticket, and we strongly recommend making them as soon as you purchase the ticket so you have the best selection of dates.

The best news is that there is no “fuse” on this ticket, and no blockout dates. You can space out your visits to catch the holiday decorations and entertainment at Disneyland before they end on January 7, return in February for the Lunar New Year celebration, and visit one more time to enjoy the Food & Wine Festival.

It is really important to note that everyone purchasing and/or using the ticket must be a resident of California. This means you can’t purchase them for out-of-state friends and family, and everyone over the age of 18 should be prepared to show government-issued photo ID at entry.

Find full details here.
