Disneyland Resort Update for November 10, 2025

November 10, 2025 by Adrienne Vincent-Phoenix

Crowds descend ahead of the Holidays at Disneyland

The holidays do not officially begin at Disneyland until Friday, but crowds this week may have you thinking it’s already Christmas week. With Monday being a holiday for many, and Monday through Thursday being the last days this year to score $104 tickets, it’s going to be pretty crowded. In fact, there are no theme park reservations available for Monday or Tuesday for one-day tickets, multi-day tickets or Magic Key holders. Magic Key holders are also unable to make theme park reservations for Thursday or Friday.

Friday brings the kick off of the holiday season throughout the Disneyland Resort, and we will be on hand to bring you all of the updates. Join us on Facebook, Instagram and X/Twitter for updates this weekend and beyond.

Chewbacca visits Galaxy’s Edge for Life Day

Fans can meet Chewbacca in his Life Day robe for a limited time starting November 17, 2025. While this isn’t the first time Disneyland has commemorated Life Day on Batuu, this is the first time Chewbacca has worn the red traditional robe to Black Spire Outpost.

Docking Bay 7 Food & Cargo, Oga’s Cantina, the Milk Stand, and Kat Saka’s Kettle will all offer special Life Day menu items starting Friday, November 14.

Holiday food overload

Between the 62 new menu items offered at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure this holiday season, the returning favorites served up at the Festival of Holidays booths in DCA, and the dizzying number of dishes and drinks available in Downtown Disney and at the Disneyland Resort Hotels, it’s going to be very difficult to make dining plans during your holiday visit(s).

The Disney Parks Blog tried to help by publishing separate Foodie Guides to the Holidays at Disneyland Resort and the Festival of Holidays at Disney California Adventure, but with so much on offer it’s easy to get overwhelmed. And that doesn’t even include all of the souvenir drink ware, popcorn buckets and straw clips to be found around the parks.

We’re going to do our best starting Thursday to navigate this holiday food overload, and help steer you to the best bites of the season. Join us on Facebook, Instagram and X/Twitter for updates this weekend and beyond.

Candy Cane dates and details

The original “viral” Disneyland treat is coming back on select days starting November 28, and we have the the details you need for 2025, including an update on the distribution process. If you’re a Magic Key holder, you especially want to make reservations to get yours before the holiday blockouts begin.

A candy maker rolls out a rope of twisted candy before forming it into the iconic cane shape. MousePlanet file photo.

In the era before Food Network and social media, the freshly pulled candy canes made at Disneyland were once one of those little Disney gems, known to only a small group of fans. Whether it’s the deceptively simple recipe (the candy canes made in-park contain no preservatives) or just the charm of watching candy makers cook, pull, and shape the canes in front of you, people line up early and wait hours to get one fresh from the Disney candy kitchens.

Prior to the pandemic, the fresh candy canes were offered on as many as 28 days between Thanksgiving and Christmas. This year you have 18 opportunities to get your hands on one of the coveted gems.

The official dates for 2025 are:

  • Disneyland Candy Palace – Nov. 28, 30; Dec. 2, 7, 9, 12, 16, 22, and 24.
  • Disney California Adventure Trolley Treats – Nov. 29; Dec. 1, 3, 8, 10, 17, 23, and 25.

If you have the luxury of being able to go any day you want, your best bet is to pick a weekday when candy canes are being released at Disney California Adventure, which tends to have lower crowds. Sundays will be the busiest days. With almost all Magic Key passes blocked out December 22, 23 and 25, those should be the best days for non-passholders to get one.

Once you decide when to go, check to see what time the park opens and get to the front gates at least one hour early. Disneyland Resort hotel guests receive early admission at a select park each day, and the gates open 30 minutes before the published time, granting you access to Main Street and/or Buena Vista Street that morning.

A tray of finished candy canes awaits packaging at Disneyland. MousePlanet file photo.

As soon as the entrance opens, walk briskly straight to either Trolley Treats or the Main Street Candy Kitchen and look for the cast members who will direct you into a line outside the shop.

This year Disney is ditching the mobile wait list and going back to a wristband distribution system. The last time this system was used, the color-coded wristbands were printed with the time for you to return to claim your candy cane. Depending on when you arrive, you may get a wristband for a candy cane from the first batch of the day, or you may be in a later group with a 1:30 p.m. or later return time.

Earl of Sandwich (finally) closes (again)

The Earl of Sandwich and Earl of Sandwich Tavern are now closed in Downtown Disney. Photo by Justin Rodgers.

It’s been years of on-again, off-again for the Earl of Sandwich and Earl of Sandwich Tavern, but the joint locations finally closed at the end of business on Friday. Our photographer Justin Rodgers happened to be there after the doors closed for the last time, and noted that workers were already uninstalling the heaters from the outdoor patio.

A sign outside the Earl of Sandwich promises something new is on the way. Photo by Justin Rodgers.

The two eateries occupied the building which was left empty when La Brea Bakery abruptly closed in 2023. The building is set to be razed to make room for a new Porto’s Bakery. In April 2025, Disney filed permits to demolish both the former La Brea Bakery but also nearby Disneyland ticket booths. The Earl of Sandwich told workers the location would close in July, but it inexplicably remained open until this weekend.

A new two-story Earl of Sandwich is under construction on the west side of Downtown Disney. The building will house the Earl of Sandwich on the ground floor, and a new Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby tavern upstairs. The Earl of Sandwich truck on the west end of the district remains open for now, next to the Star Wars Trading Post.

This is not the first time the Earl of Sandwich has closed its doors in Anaheim. Their original location closed in 2018 to make room for a planned new hotel project, only to reopen four months later when the hotel was scrapped. The restaurant relocated to the former La Brea Bakery spot in 2024.

Storybook Land Canal Boats to reopen and refurbishment season end

Last week Disneyland announced that Storybook Land Canal Boat will reopen this coming Friday, November 14 for the start of the holiday season. It was not mentioned in the announcement, but per the Disneyland website Casey Jr. Circus Train will also reopen the same day.

Along with “it’s a small world” Holiday reopening at Disneyland, plus the return of the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail at Disney California Adventure, this Friday kicks off a two-week period in which every single ride at both theme parks will be open. A three-day closure of Indiana Jones Adventure breaks the spell, but once that ride reopens on December 5 there are no refurbishments on the schedule through December 21.

The next known refurbishment begins January 8, when the Haunted Mansion closes to remove the holiday overlay.

Magic Key down payment lowered

Disneyland has dropped the down payment for purchases of new Magic Keys for California residents.

When Disneyland reopened Magic Key sales last week, they also made a change to the monthly payment option offered to residents of Southern California. The old plan required purchasers to make a down payment of $206, and would also charge the first monthly payment within a few days of purchase. Disney has dropped the down payment to $99 for new purchase. (Renewals do not require a new down payment).

We do not know how long this change will be in effect, but it may be a sign that Magic Key sales are slowing at the Disneyland Resort. Disneyland has also made a change to the mobile app, and now displays how many visits the passholder has made since purchasing their pass. This lets passholders see just how much use (and value) they’re getting from their pass.

Reservations open for new Pixar Place Hotel suites

Reservations are now open for two new themed suites at the Pixar Place Hotel, for stays beginning in December. The two suites, themed to “The Incredibles” and “Coco.” were announced in January. Each of these Signature Themed Suites sleep up to 8 adults, and are wheelchair accessible.

At press time, the rates for these two rooms range from $3800 to over $5100 per night, depending on dates selected.

Book online via the Disneyland website, or contact our travel partner Get Away Today at 1-855-GET-AWAY for reservations. Be sure to mention you saw them on MousePlanet.

Guests can now reserve the Incredibles Suite at Pixar Place Hotel at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Calif., for stays beginning December 2025. This is one of two new, two-bedroom themed premium suites opening new doors into the worlds of Pixar Animation Studio’s “Coco” and “The Incredibles.” The Incredibles Suite will have a mid-century design with a “spy-fi” twist. This suite includes a primary bedroom for the Parr parents, with a connecting room for Edna Mode designed by Edna herself. Beginning with a hand-scanning prop at the entryway, guests will encounter super-inspired touches and special effects including a spy phone, hidden messages, a secret door and other surprises.  (Artist Concept/Disneyland Resort)
Guest can now reserve the Coco Suite at Pixar Place Hotel at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim Calif., for stays beginning December 2025. This is one of two new, two-bedroom themed premium suites opening new doors into the worlds of Pixar Animation Studios’ “Coco” and “The Incredibles.” The Coco Suite, with Oaxacan-style architecture, will feature terracotta tiling, Mexican artisan quilted and woven pieces, a fireplace, unique handcrafted wooden furniture, and thoughtful touches of hand-painted art. The Coco Suite is inspired by the film’s Rivera family hacienda with many family photos and mementos. (Artist Concept/Disneyland Resort)

Resort Events

Check here to see if a large convention, competition, or park event might fall during your next trip to the Disneyland Resort. If you know of any in-park events, official or unofficial, that should be listed here, please send us an e-mail.

2025

  • Disneyland 70th Anniversary Celebration – Began May 16, 2025 and continues through Summer 2026
  • Holidays at Disneyland Resort – November 14, 2025 through January 7, 2026.
  • Dapper Day Fall 2025 (unofficial event) – Sunday, November 16. More information at the event website.
  • Festival of Holidays at Disney California Adventure – November 14, 2025 through January 7, 2026.
  • Candlelight Processional – December 5 & 6.

2026

  • 2026 Disneyland Half Marathon weekend –Thursday, January 29 through Sunday, February 1 2026. All events are sold out. More information on the event website.
  • D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event – Aug. 14-16, 2026. Tickets go on sale spring, 2026.

We also recommend checking the convention calendar at the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor and Convention Bureau website. When looking at that site, remember to note both the number of people and the number of rooms resulting from each convention. A gathering of 25,000 people booking few room nights (indicating most will be driving in to the area for their meeting) can impact traffic around the resort much more than a crowd of 25,000 staying in area hotels. Of course, that second group is going to make finding a hotel room more difficult (and possibly more expensive), so it’s best to book your own room as early as possible if you see that a big convention is in town during your trip.

Tickets, Discounts and Promotions

Disneyland prices as of October 8, 2025.

Note: MousePlanet does not edit past Updates to reflect price increases; for up-to-date prices, check the most recent Disneyland Resort Update. Several current promotions offer discounted admission to the Disneyland Resort. For your convenience, we have grouped the discount offers based on the number of days the tickets are valid. Check out the category that best matches the amount of time you plan to spend at the resort, and pick the offer that works best for you. And keep those tips coming—let us know if you find a better or different offer, so we can share it with other readers!

This first section is a list of discounts on ticket-only purchases. Though it has become more common in recent years, Disneyland tickets are rarely offered at deep discounts unless you are a resident of Southern California or Northern Mexico. For residents outside that area, the best discounts available tend to be simple advance purchase discounts. If you know of any additional discounts, offers, promotions, or contests that should be listed in this section, drop us a line. Note, we are no longer listing offers from the Anaheim-Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau, as their convenience fee negates any savings.

Don’t get scammed! Never buy tickets from an unofficial or secondary outlet, such as through eBay or Craigslist. Never rent or purchase tickets from people approaching you outside the gates stating they have remaining days or leftover tickets. This practice is against the terms of use for Disneyland admission, and may result in denial of entry. It is also common for criminals to shoplift inactivated Disney theme park tickets from supermarkets to resell them. There is no way to determine if these tickets are valid until you try to use them to enter the parks. Only purchase Disney theme park tickets directly from Disney, an authorized seller, or travel agency like MousePlanet travel partner Get Away Today.

California Resident Park Hopper Ticket

The California Resident Park Hopper ticket is $249, a savings of more than 50% when compared to the new price ($526) of a 3-day park hopper ticket. The ticket is valid for all ages 3 and older, for visits between January 1 through May 21, 2026.

The new ticket goes on sale December 3, 2025. Theme park reservations are required to use this ticket, and we strongly recommend making them as soon as you purchase the ticket so you have the best selection of dates.

The best news is that there is no “fuse” on this ticket, and no blockout dates. You can space out your visits to catch the holiday decorations and entertainment at Disneyland before they end on January 7, return in February for the Lunar New Year celebration, and visit one more time to enjoy the Food & Wine Festival.

It is really important to note that everyone purchasing and/or using the ticket must be a resident of California. This means you can’t purchase them for out-of-state friends and family, and everyone over the age of 18 should be prepared to show government-issued photo ID at entry.

Find full details here.

Costco Ticket

This exclusive ticket bundles a 3-day park hopper ticket with Lightning Lane Multi Pass for $449.99, and includes a $30 Disney Dining Gift Card.

The ticket is valid through December 19, 2025, and has no blockout dates or fuse, through theme park reservations are required for each admission.

This offer was available at select regional warehouses. It seems that the tickets are no longer available for sale, but customers who already purchased the offer can still redeem it as advertised.

Active and retired U.S. military personnel can purchase Disney Military Promotional Tickets for themselves and up to five additional family members or friends. No more than six Disney Military Promotional Tickets may be purchased by any eligible member of the U.S. military (or spouse) pursuant to this offer. All tickets and options are non-transferable and must be used by December 27, 2025.

This offer must be purchased at a participating US military base ticket office. Eligible US Military service members can also buy tickets via GOVX.com

2025 Military Hotel discounts

Military discounts are valid for stays most nights from January 1 through December 27, 2025. You can book now through December 23, 2025, and travel must be completed by December 28, 2024.

Disney does not publish the actual discounted rates, and instead asks eligible U.S. military personnel to call (800) 453-4911 to check pricing, availability and to make reservations. In past years, the offer was generally 30% to 40% off, based on room category. Concierge rooms, Signature or Premium suites, or 2-or 3-Bedroom Villas are excluded from the offer, and this offer can not be combined with any other discount.
