Disneyland Resort Update for November 3, 2025

November 3, 2025 by Adrienne Vincent-Phoenix

Transition entertainment

If you were lucky enough to visit Disneyland every day for the next two weeks, you would see Halloween decorations vanish, to be swiftly replaced by trees, tinsel and everything Christmas. During these two transition weeks between Halloween Time and the Holidays at Disneyland, the entertainment schedule is a bit wonky, and you have your last chances to see some offerings before their holiday hiatus.

This week is your last chance to see the Paint the Night parade in 2025. MousePlanet file photo.

At Disneyland, the Paint the Night parade continues nightly through Sunday, November 9. There is no parade scheduled November 10-13, and A Christmas Fantasy Parade returns on November 14, so this is your last chance to see the parade in 2025.

Fantasmic is presented only on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights until Thanksgiving week.

Wondrous Journeys is presented with fireworks this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. MousePlanet file photo.

The Wondrous Journeys nighttime spectacular is back at Disneyland, with fireworks on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, November 7-9. This show will be replaced with Believe…In Holiday Magic starting November 14, so this is your last chance to see these fireworks in 2025.

On nights with fireworks, you can also catch Fire of the Rising Moons from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. This show presents an alternative Star Wars-themed soundtrack to the Disneyland fireworks, and there is a different soundtrack for Wondrous Journeys as for Believe…In Holiday Magic.

Holiday entertainment preview

It’s official: The Story Time with Deadpool Holiday Special will return to Disney California Adventure this holiday season. This fan-favorite show has the Merc With a Mouth providing his own…twist…on classic holiday tales, occasionally joined onstage by Wolverine. The show was a limited-time promotion for the release of “Deadpool & Wolverine” last year, but proved so popular it was extended for the holiday season.

Last week Disney also provided an update on where visitors can find various characters around the resort during the holidays.

There are lots of places to find Mickey and Friends in a variety of costumes, from street-side meet-and-greets inside the theme parks to character dining event at the hotels. The parades are also full of character appearances.

Santa will be at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure from November 14 through Christmas Eve. He will also begin paying visits at the three Disneyland Resort hotels starting November 27.

One thing that did catch my eye was in the listing for Holiday Fun with Santa and Friends in the Fantasyland Theater. Disney says the characters who may appear include Chip ‘n’ Dale, Goofy and Pluto. I hope this isn’t the entire list. Last year Pinocchio, Gepetto and Clarabelle Cow were also on hand, and it was good to have a chance to interact with some lesser-seen characters.

Magic Key sales to resume this week

The Inspire and Believe tiers of Magic Key will go on sale once more this Tuesday, November 4, at their new, higher prices. The Enchant and Imagine Keys are still on sale “while supplies last,” and were not impacted by the last price increase.

Refurbishment update

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad has reopened at Disneyland. MousePlanet file photo.

We have an happy update this week, as Big Thunder Mountain Railroad reopened at Disneyland Sunday morning. We didn’t have a heads up on this, so it was a nice surprise. However, since the ride is not “officially” open per the Disneyland website, it may be subject to closure again.

Mickey’s PhilharMagic has also reopened at Disney California Adventure following refurbishment.

With Halloween Time over, “it’s a small world” and the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail have both closed for a quick 2-week makeover, and will reopen in time for the start of the holiday festivities on November 14.

Here are the latest additions to the refurbishment calendar:

  • Sailing Ship Columbia – closed November 2-6 and November 10-13 for refurbishment.
  • Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes – closed November 3-6 and November 10-13 for refurbishment.
  • Indiana Jones Adventure – closed December 2-4 for refurbishment.

Disneyland lays off 100 salaried workers

Approximately 100 salaried cast members were laid off from the Disneyland Resort last week, just weeks after the company raised ticket and annual pass prices.

In a prepared statement, a Disneyland resort spokesperson said, “With our business in a period of steady, sustained operation, we are recalibrating our organization to ensure we continue to deliver exceptional experiences for our guests, while positioning Disneyland Resort for the future. As part of this, we’ve made the difficult decision to eliminate a limited number of salaried positions. We are deeply grateful for the contributions of these cast members and are committed to supporting them with care, respect, and resources during this transition.”

Anaheim gate tax won’t be on November ballot

A proposed new entertainment tax on parking and admission at large entertainment venues in Anaheim, including the Disneyland Resort, did not receive enough support from the Anaheim City Council to appear on the ballot next November.

Councilmember Natalie Rubalcava first suggested the tax at the September 9 Anaheim city council meeting, saying it could help bridge a $60M budget deficit. During the October 28 meeting, Rubalcava presented the two potential ballot measures, which would appear on the November 2026 ballot. The first would impose a 3% ticket tax on large theme parks and entertainment / sporting venues with a capacity of more than 20,000 patrons. The second would impose a 10% tax on parking fees paid at lots of structures with a capacity of more than 1,500 vehicles. A staff report estimated the two taxes could bring in as much as $164M to the city’s general fund.

As written, the gate tax would only apply to the Disneyland Resort. While the capacity of Anaheim Stadium would qualify the venue for the gate tax, an agreement reached with the franchise in 2019 makes the facility exempt from any new taxes, and the Honda Center holds fewer than 20,000 people. The parking tax would likely also apply to the new OC Vibe complex, which is expected to have more than 10,000 total spaces once construction is complete.

The city of Anaheim forecasts it will already receive more than $246M in Transient Occupancy Tax (hotel tax), the majority of which comes from properties within the Anaheim Resort. This represents nearly 40% of the city’s annual revenues.

While this proposal is on hold for now, the council agreed to discuss in a future meeting other options for increasing revenues, including a potential gate tax.

You can watch the city council meeting at this link; the resolution was item 27 on the agenda and you can skip directly to that section.

  • D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event – Aug. 14-16, 2026. Tickets go on sale spring, 2026.

We also recommend checking the convention calendar at the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor and Convention Bureau website. When looking at that site, remember to note both the number of people and the number of rooms resulting from each convention. A gathering of 25,000 people booking few room nights (indicating most will be driving in to the area for their meeting) can impact traffic around the resort much more than a crowd of 25,000 staying in area hotels. Of course, that second group is going to make finding a hotel room more difficult (and possibly more expensive), so it’s best to book your own room as early as possible if you see that a big convention is in town during your trip.

Tickets, Discounts and Promotions

Disneyland prices as of October 8, 2025.

Note: MousePlanet does not edit past Updates to reflect price increases; for up-to-date prices, check the most recent Disneyland Resort Update. Several current promotions offer discounted admission to the Disneyland Resort. For your convenience, we have grouped the discount offers based on the number of days the tickets are valid. Check out the category that best matches the amount of time you plan to spend at the resort, and pick the offer that works best for you. And keep those tips coming—let us know if you find a better or different offer, so we can share it with other readers!

This first section is a list of discounts on ticket-only purchases. Though it has become more common in recent years, Disneyland tickets are rarely offered at deep discounts unless you are a resident of Southern California or Northern Mexico. For residents outside that area, the best discounts available tend to be simple advance purchase discounts. If you know of any additional discounts, offers, promotions, or contests that should be listed in this section, drop us a line. Note, we are no longer listing offers from the Anaheim-Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau, as their convenience fee negates any savings.

Don’t get scammed! Never buy tickets from an unofficial or secondary outlet, such as through eBay or Craigslist. Never rent or purchase tickets from people approaching you outside the gates stating they have remaining days or leftover tickets. This practice is against the terms of use for Disneyland admission, and may result in denial of entry. It is also common for criminals to shoplift inactivated Disney theme park tickets from supermarkets to resell them. There is no way to determine if these tickets are valid until you try to use them to enter the parks. Only purchase Disney theme park tickets directly from Disney, an authorized seller, or travel agency like MousePlanet travel partner Get Away Today.

California Resident Park Hopper Ticket

The California Resident Park Hopper ticket is $249, a savings of more than 50% when compared to the new price ($526) of a 3-day park hopper ticket. The ticket is valid for all ages 3 and older, for visits between January 1 through May 21, 2026.

The new ticket goes on sale December 3, 2025. Theme park reservations are required to use this ticket, and we strongly recommend making them as soon as you purchase the ticket so you have the best selection of dates.

The best news is that there is no “fuse” on this ticket, and no blockout dates. You can space out your visits to catch the holiday decorations and entertainment at Disneyland before they end on January 7, return in February for the Lunar New Year celebration, and visit one more time to enjoy the Food & Wine Festival.

It is really important to note that everyone purchasing and/or using the ticket must be a resident of California. This means you can’t purchase them for out-of-state friends and family, and everyone over the age of 18 should be prepared to show government-issued photo ID at entry.

Find full details here.

Costco Ticket

This exclusive ticket bundles a 3-day park hopper ticket with Lightning Lane Multi Pass for $449.99, and includes a $30 Disney Dining Gift Card.

The ticket is valid through December 19, 2025, and has no blockout dates or fuse, through theme park reservations are required for each admission.

This offer was available at select regional warehouses. It seems that the tickets are no longer available for sale, but customers who already purchased the offer can still redeem it as advertised.
