Limited-Time Kids’ Ticket Offer for 2025
A new offer starting January 7, 2025, lets children ages 3 to 9 visit Disneyland or Disney California Adventure for as low as $50 per day. This is a repeat of the offer from early 2024, and is accompanied by a new hotel discount. We remind readers that Disney announced the 2024 version of this offer just one week before announcing the annual ticket price increase, so we’re expecting that news to come any day now.
The Kids’ Special Offer Ticket goes on sale starting October 22, 2024 and is valid for visits between January 7 and March 20, 2025. You can purchase 1-, 2- or 3-day park tickets, and add on optional Park Hopper and/or Lightning Lane Multi Pass service upgrades. In comparison, the current price for 1-day, 1-park child ticket can range from $98 for a “Tier 0,” to $194 for “Tier 6.” Disney hasn’t released full pricing details for this offer yet – likely because of the pending price hike – so we’ll update this information as soon as we can.
The 2025 offer runs bit longer than the 2024 version. Disney has not yet announced the 2025 festival lineup, but these dates will definitely cover the popular Lunar New Year celebration, and will probably include the first weekend or two of the Food and Wine Festival.
Read the fine print carefully, because you need to make a theme park reservation to use this ticket, and Disney will set aside only a limited number of reservations for this ticket type each day. As with the prior offer, the terms state, “reservation availability for Kids’ Special Offer Ticket holders is not guaranteed for any date, and reservations may be difficult to get for any particular date, especially as the ticket expiration date approaches.”
We also want to point out that this offer states, “Sales may be paused from time to time or terminated at any time. ” Last month Disney ended sales of a discounted ticket for Anaheim residents more than a week before the end of the promotion, which caught last-minute planners by surprise.
Last year Disney extended the booking window for theme park reservations to 180 days in advance, which will let you make all of the reservations for this special offer as soon as you purchase your tickets, and also see which days are “Tier 0” days, where adult tickets are only $104. Disney says there are 15 of these days in January and February, 2025. From past schedules, they’ll all be Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays on non-holiday weeks. Last year the Kids Special Ticket Offer was eventually followed by a Southern California Resident discount, which made it more affordable for local families to visit, but we have no information about a repeat for 2025.
In addition to requiring a theme park reservation, this ticket also has a “fuse”—which means multi-day tickets expire 13 days after the first day of use (or on March 20, 2025, whichever comes first). You won’t need to use all two or three days consecutively, but you will need to make sure to use them all before they expire. From past experience, it will be difficult to get reservations the last week of this offer unless you plan well in advance.
Holiday 2024 ticket offer coming soon for Disney+ subscribers
Last week’s Disney Parks Blog announcement also promised a “specially priced, multi-day Disneyland Resort ticket offer” for Disney+ subscribers in the U.S. and Canada “on select days through the 2024 holiday season.” Disney says details will be released later. If you’re a Disney+ subscriber, you can always keep an eye on the Disney+ Perks website for updates.
Early 2025 Disneyland Resort Hotel offer
Vacationers can save up to 25% off at the three Disneyland Resort hotels with a stay of four nights or longer between January 7 and March 20, 2025. For shorter stays, discounts of 10% – 20% are offered at the three hotels Sunday through Thursday nights. Reservations open for the this offer starting October 22, 2025.
If you have already booked your winter 2025 vacation package, call your travel agent starting October 22 to see how you can apply this new discount to your vacation.
If you haven’t yet booked your travel, we always recommend you contact MousePlanet’s travel partner Get Away Today and let them find the best deal for you. Visit Get Away Today or call 1-855-GET-AWAY, and be sure to mention you saw them on MousePlanet.
Still time for a fall break
For those who still want to plan a visit this calendar year, the Disneyland Resort Hotels also have a deal offering up to 15% off stays October 20 through December 19, 2024. You must book by December 9, and travel must be completed by December 20, 2024
Our partners at Get Away Today tell us they’re surprised at the great hotel availability this fall, and that theme park reservations are still open for the entire month of October for ticket holders. (Editor note – Magic Key reservations are much more limited).
Refurbishment update
A few notes from the Disneyland refurishment schedule.
- World of Color – ONE is now scheduled to resume performances on Friday, November 1. The show has been dark since September 8.
- Meet Tinker Bell in Pixie Hollow is only listed as closed for refurbishment through October 14, but there are no show times scheduled after that date. We’re not sure when the area will actually reopen.
- The Hungry Bear Restaurant and The Briar Patch gift shop both remain on the refurbishment schedule beyond November 15, the official opening date of Bayou Country and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. We expect this is the result of both locations being renamed, and not an indication that their opening has been delayed.
Monorail reopens nose and tail cones for passengers
It’s been a pandemic since passengers could ride in the nose and tail cones of the Disneyland Monorail, but as of last week riders can ask to be seated in either section during their trip around Walt Disney’s Magic Kingdom.
The nose cone of the Monorail is the front section where the driver sits, and has space for four or five friendly passengers. The tail cone is a bit larger, and I’ve shared it with as many as seven other people at times. Both give you a wonderful aerial perspective of the Disneyland Resort. Seating in the either section is first-come, first-serve, so be sure to politely ask a cast member if you’d like to wait for the next available cabin.
The LEGO Store closing for remodel
The Downtown Disney LEGO Store closes today, October 7 for remodel, and will not reopen until sometime in November. LEGO team members do not have an estimated reopening date.
The LEGO Store is one of the few remaining opening-day tenants of Downtown Disney, and is an icon in the shopping district.

- Tiana’s Bayou Adventure – Opens November 15.
- Holidays at the Disneyland Resort – Begins November 15.
2025
- 2025 Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend – January 30 – February 2. Most events are sold out.
We also recommend checking the convention calendar at the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor and Convention Bureau website. When looking at that site, remember to note both the number of people and the number of rooms resulting from each convention. A gathering of 25,000 people booking few room nights (indicating most will be driving in to the area for their meeting) can impact traffic around the resort much more than a crowd of 25,000 staying in area hotels. Of course, that second group is going to make finding a hotel room more difficult (and possibly more expensive), so it’s best to book your own room as early as possible if you see that a big convention is in town during your trip.
Current Discounts and Promotions
Disneyland prices as of October 11, 2023.
Note: MousePlanet does not edit past Updates to reflect price increases; for up-to-date prices, check the most recent Disneyland Resort Update. Several current promotions offer discounted admission to the Disneyland Resort. For your convenience, we have grouped the discount offers based on the number of days the tickets are valid. Check out the category that best matches the amount of time you plan to spend at the resort, and pick the offer that works best for you. And keep those tips coming—let us know if you find a better or different offer, so we can share it with other readers!
This first section is a list of discounts on ticket-only purchases. Though it has become more common in recent years, Disneyland tickets are rarely offered at deep discounts unless you are a resident of Southern California or Northern Mexico. For residents outside that area, the best discounts available tend to be simple advance purchase discounts. If you know of any additional discounts, offers, promotions, or contests that should be listed in this section, drop us a line. Note, we are no longer listing offers from the Anaheim-Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau, as their convenience fee negates any savings.
Don’t get scammed! Never buy tickets from an unofficial or secondary outlet, such as through eBay or Craigslist. Never rent or purchase tickets from people approaching you outside the gates stating they have remaining days or leftover tickets. This practice is against the terms of use for Disneyland admission, and may result in denial of entry. It is also common for criminals to shoplift inactivated Disney theme park tickets from supermarkets to resell them. There is no way to determine if these tickets are valid until you try to use them to enter the parks. Only purchase Disney theme park tickets directly from Disney, an authorized seller, or travel agency like MousePlanet travel partner Get Away Today.
