Disneyland Resort Update for September 22, 2025

September 22, 2025 by Adrienne Vincent-Phoenix

Time to make holiday dining reservations

In July Disneyland announced a number of new and returning holiday meals, and now it’s time to make reservations. Pay close attention to the blockout dates for each restaurant or offering, as many are not available on holidays.

Storytellers Cafe will offer two new holiday meals this season. MousePlanet file photo.

Storytellers Cafe – reservations open October 2, 2025

From November 17 through January 6, 2026, Storytellers Cafe will offer a new character experience at all three meals. (Note that these character meals are not offered on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve or Christmas.)

The day begins with the new Daisy’s Holiday Pajama Party breakfast and brunch.

Join Daisy Duck and her best pals at the pajama party of the season! Dressed in festive colors and plaid fabrics, Daisy invites you to celebrate in your merriest, coziest fashion—even your pajamas!

Begin your day with flavorful favorites, including:

  • An assortment of baked goods
  • Fresh berries and seasonal sliced fruits
  • Mickey waffles with maple syrup and Chantilly cream
  • Made-to-order omelets
  • Pork carnitas chilaquiles
  • A carving station featuring grilled tri-tip steak with chimichurri and creamy horseradish, and pineapple-glazed Nueske spiral ham
  • An assortment of bakery desserts

11:00 a.m., the brunch menu begins, adding cinnamon bread French toast, macaroni and cheese, bread pudding and much more to the breakfast spread.

Breakfast price:

  • $69 plus tax per adult (ages 10 and older)
  • $39 plus tax per child (ages 3 to 9)

Brunch price:

  • $74 plus tax per adult (ages 10 and older)
  • $39 plus tax per child (ages 3 to 9)

For dinner you can book Mickey’s Christmas Carol Feast at Storytellers Cafe, with the characters in their Dickens best.

Join Mickey Mouse, Scrooge McDuck and beloved Disney friends as they come together to celebrate the holidays with a yuletide feast! Savor festive fare, share laughter and good cheer, and create unforgettable memories.

  • Butternut squash ravioli with brown butter and candied pepitas
  • Macaroni and cheese
  • Baked salmon with lemon-pistachio chimichurri
  • Braised short rib with creamy polenta
  • All-spice glazed pork belly with sautéed vegetables
  • Bread pudding

Dinner price:

  • $79 plus tax per adult (ages 10 and older)
  • $42 plus tax per child (ages 3 to 9)

Plaza Inn Dining Package – reservations open September 25

Back this year is A Christmas Fantasy Parade Dining Package at the Plaza Inn, which offers a three-course meal and access to a reserved viewing area for the return of the popular A Christmas Fantasy Parade.

The package is available November 16, 2025, to January 7, 2026, excluding the following blockout dates: the day before Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving, the day after Thanksgiving, November 30 through December 8, Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

The package is $58 for ages 10 and up, and $32 for ages 3-9. The adult meal includes:

  • Herb-roasted chicken with mashed potatoes
  • Creamy potato leek soup garnished with fried leeks, chives and citrus cream
  • Buttered haricots verts served with a caramelized onion sauce
  • Holiday yule log dessert
  • Choice of one beverage: fountain beverage or Dasani water

The childs menu includes:

  • Chicken tenders
  • Creamy mashed potatoes
  • Green beans
  • Chicken gravy with a Hawaiian roll
  • Holiday yule log dessert
  • Choice of one beverage: Dasani water or low-fat milk

Plant-based options are available for both meals, though details were not available on the Disneyland website.

Reservations are available from 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. each day.

A credit card is required at the time of reservation, and a $10 cancellation fee applies if you do not cancel your reservation at least one day in advance. When you arrive at your reservation time, you will pay for and pick up your meal, and receive your voucher for the viewing area. You can then eat at any open table at the Plaza Inn.

I want to point out that the reserved viewing section is “mainly standing room or ground seating and is separate from the dining location.” Disney says that, “Due to overwhelming demand, special seating requests or preferences will not be accommodated except for wheelchair accessibility.”

On days when there are two parade performances scheduled, the viewing area will be available for the second performance only.

In recent years, the viewing location has been across from the Main Street Train Station. (I suspect that is why the package is not offered November 30 through December 8, as that area will be unavailable due to set up for the Candlelight Processional.)

Goofy’s Kitchen – reservations open September 25, 2025

Once Halloween is over, Goofy’s Kitchen will offer its normal character dining experience from November 1 to 16 while they prepare for Goofy’s Kitchen Celebrates the Holidays.

From November 17, 2025, through January 6, 2026, join Goofy and his pals as they get gussied up in their merry best for the winter holidays—putting a decorative spin on the classic red and green with the addition of pastel colors, playful prints, snowy sparkles and a matching holly brooch crafted by Minnie Mouse herself.

Breakfast – 7:00 AM to 10:30 AM

  • An assortment of baked goods
  • Mickey waffles and classic pancakes
  • Made-to-order omelets
  • Duck confit chilaquiles
  • Maple-glazed pork belly Benedict with butternut hollandaise

And so much more!

Breakfast price:

  • $69 plus tax per adult (ages 10 and older)
  • $39 plus tax per child (ages 3 to 9)

Brunch – 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM

Brunch adds a carving station with herb-marinated turkey breast and carved beef sirloin chateau roast to the breakfast lineup.

Brunch price:

  • $74 plus tax per adult (ages 10 and older)
  • $39 plus tax per child (ages 3 to 9)

Dinner – 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM

  • Shrimp cocktail and crab claws
  • Roasted beet and pear salad
  • Salmon with persimmon hollandaise
  • Roasted chicken
  • Short rib ravioli with wild mushrooms and pecorino
  • BBQ pork spareribs
  • A carving station with herb-marinated turkey breast, bourbon-glazed holiday ham and prime rib
  • Assorted seasonal desserts and pastries

Dinner price:

  • $79 plus tax per adult (ages 10 and older)
  • $42 plus tax per child (ages 3 to 9)

Disney drops price of Tomorrowland Skyline Terrace viewing

Disneyland is tweaking one if its premium offerings for the holiday season, and in the process is taking the unusual step to lower prices.

Starting November 14, the Tomorrowland Skyline Terrace experience in Disneyland will cost $75 per person, down from $89. The adult menu is also changing, with the “Cold Seasonal Sandwich, Waldorf Salad and Pimento Cheese and Crackers” being replaced with “Meats, cheeses and crackers.” There is no change to the children’s menu, and also no mention of whether the meal will still come in the “commemorative bento box” previously offered.

The package includes a reserved table in the Skyline Lounge all night. Note: You may be seated with other parties. Each table in outfitted with charging stations for your electronic devices, and there are a variety of games around the area if you’re so inclined.

As always, the challenge with this location is that fireworks are visible from an angle, but the projections on Sleeping Beauty Castle and other locations are not. As with all such offerings, visitors are also not eligible for a refund if the fireworks are cancelled for any reason, including inclement weather.

Reservations can be made on the Disneyland website.

Discussion of new entertainment tax postponed for now

During a September 9, 2025 Anaheim City Council meeting, Councilmember Natalie Rubalcava suggested that the city consider a a tax on parking and admission at “large entertainment venues” in Anaheim, including OCVibe and the Disneyland Resort to help bridge a $60M budget deficit.

At the councilmember’s request, an item was placed on the agenda for the council’s September 23 meeting to further discuss putting a ballot measure before Anaheim voters during the November 2026 general election. However, last Friday Councilmember Rubalcava asked the mayor and city council to postpone the discussion until a later date, saying, “In the interest of time, I would like to work with staff to gather additional information and data to ensure all policymakers have the comprehensive details necessary to make a thoughtful, well-informed decision on this important issue.”

The next scheduled meeting is Tuesday, October 7. If the council approves the measure, it could go before voters in November 2026.

Judge approves $233M Measure L settlement with Disneyland workers

Last December, Disney agreed to settle a class-action lawsuit brought by employees of the Disneyland resort after the company failed to raise its wages in the wake of Anaheim’s Measure L taking effect in 2019. The $233M settlement includes back pay, interest and penalties.

Last week a California judge approved the settlement, clearing the way for back payments to begin to eligible workers. Reuters reports $179.6M will go to class members, $17.5M will be paid as a civil penalty, and $35M will go to the plaintiff’s lawyers.

Measure L billed as The Living Wage Ordinance, was passed by Anaheim voters in November, 2018. The law took effect January 1, 2019, and required Anaheim Resort district businesses that receive tax breaks from the city to raise minimum wages to $15 per hour. The law included mandatory increases to raise the minimum wage to $18 per hour by 2022, and annual increases afterwards.

In the run up to the election, Disney voluntarily withdrew from two tax rebate agreements, and also canceled plans to build a fourth hotel at the Disneyland Resort. Citing the canceled agreements, the Anaheim city attorney issued an opinion saying the measure would not apply to Disney should it pass.

Disney says it acted in good faith when it relied on that opinion, but cast members and their unions disagreed, filing suit in December 2019.

In summer 2024, Disney reached an agreement with the Master Services Council, which represents over 14,000 Disneyland Resort workers, for a minimum wage of $24 per hour, well above even the Measure L rate.

Refurbishment notes

“it’s a small world” will close starting October 31 to install the holiday overlay. MousePlanet file photo.

A few important notes this week as you plan future visits.

…Last week we shared that Big Thunder Mountain Railroad was scheduled to reopen on October 25, following a lengthy refurbishment. Disney has since removed the reopening date from the website, so it’s unclear how long the attraction will remain closed.

…”it’s a small world” will close starting October 31 to install the holiday overlay. The attraction will reopen by November 14, in time for the start of the holiday season at Disneyland.

…Sailing Ship Columbia is closed for refurbishment Monday – Friday this week.

…The Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes are closed Monday – Thursday for the next three weeks. They return to their normal operating schedule on October 10.

…Radiator Springs Racers is expected to reopen this Saturday, September 27 following its annual refurbishment.

This and That…

Los Angeles television station KABC is offering their audience an opportunity to win tickets to visit the Disneyland Resort during Halloween Time. For details, entry requirements and full rules, visit the station website.

…At press time both the Enchant and the Inspire Magic Key were still available for new purchases through the Disneyland website.

We also recommend checking the convention calendar at the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor and Convention Bureau website. When looking at that site, remember to note both the number of people and the number of rooms resulting from each convention. A gathering of 25,000 people booking few room nights (indicating most will be driving in to the area for their meeting) can impact traffic around the resort much more than a crowd of 25,000 staying in area hotels. Of course, that second group is going to make finding a hotel room more difficult (and possibly more expensive), so it’s best to book your own room as early as possible if you see that a big convention is in town during your trip.

Tickets, Discounts and Promotions

Disneyland prices as of October 9, 2024.

Note: MousePlanet does not edit past Updates to reflect price increases; for up-to-date prices, check the most recent Disneyland Resort Update. Several current promotions offer discounted admission to the Disneyland Resort. For your convenience, we have grouped the discount offers based on the number of days the tickets are valid. Check out the category that best matches the amount of time you plan to spend at the resort, and pick the offer that works best for you. And keep those tips coming—let us know if you find a better or different offer, so we can share it with other readers!

This first section is a list of discounts on ticket-only purchases. Though it has become more common in recent years, Disneyland tickets are rarely offered at deep discounts unless you are a resident of Southern California or Northern Mexico. For residents outside that area, the best discounts available tend to be simple advance purchase discounts. If you know of any additional discounts, offers, promotions, or contests that should be listed in this section, drop us a line. Note, we are no longer listing offers from the Anaheim-Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau, as their convenience fee negates any savings.

Don’t get scammed! Never buy tickets from an unofficial or secondary outlet, such as through eBay or Craigslist. Never rent or purchase tickets from people approaching you outside the gates stating they have remaining days or leftover tickets. This practice is against the terms of use for Disneyland admission, and may result in denial of entry. It is also common for criminals to shoplift inactivated Disney theme park tickets from supermarkets to resell them. There is no way to determine if these tickets are valid until you try to use them to enter the parks. Only purchase Disney theme park tickets directly from Disney, an authorized seller, or travel agency like MousePlanet travel partner Get Away Today.

Disneyland tickets may be used January 1 through December 27, 2025, which adds New Years Day and Christmas week to the offer. There are no other blockout dates this year, so the ticket is valid during spring break, summer, Halloween Time and beyond.

Active and retired U.S. military personnel can purchase Disney Military Promotional Tickets for themselves and up to five additional family members or friends. No more than six Disney Military Promotional Tickets may be purchased by any eligible member of the U.S. military (or spouse) pursuant to this offer. All tickets and options are non-transferable and must be used by December 27, 2025.

This offer must be purchased at a participating US military base ticket office. Eligible US Military service members can also buy tickets via GOVX.com

2025 Military Hotel discounts

Military discounts are valid for stays most nights from January 1 through December 27, 2025. You can book now through December 23, 2025, and travel must be completed by December 28, 2024.

Disney does not publish the actual discounted rates, and instead asks eligible U.S. military personnel to call (800) 453-4911 to check pricing, availability and to make reservations. In past years, the offer was generally 30% to 40% off, based on room category. Concierge rooms, Signature or Premium suites, or 2-or 3-Bedroom Villas are excluded from the offer, and this offer can not be combined with any other discount.
