Disneyland Resort Update for September 8, 2025

September 8, 2025 by Adrienne Vincent-Phoenix

Are gondolas in Disneyland’s future?

The Walt Disney World Skyliner carries guests between two theme parks and three resort hotels. MousePlanet file photo.

Gondolas could whisk passengers across Anaheim as soon as 2028, according to documents obtained by The Anaheim Investigator through a public records act request. The system could connect the “Platinum Triangle” area of Anaheim, which includes Angels Stadium and the Honda Center, with the Disneyland Resort area, including the Anaheim Convention Center. The proposed system could carry as many as 18,000 passengers per day.

Two potential route maps were included in the article. The first route runs across Katella Ave, starting to the east at the new OC Vibe complex under construction around the Honda Center, and ending on the west with stations outside Disneyland and at the Anaheim Convention Center. This route includes a stop at the Anaheim Garden Walk shopping center and a future stop near Angels Stadium.

The second route, shown below, would run between the ARTIC transportation hub and the Anaheim Convention Center. A spur would serve both the to-be-built eastern parking structure, and a station on Harbor near Disneyland. Interestingly, this “flexible route” also includes a station at “DLF Gate 3,” which we interpret as “Disneyland Forward Gate 3.”

The Anaheim Investigator article goes on to say that the proposed gondola system could cost up to $125.7 million, and that no source of funding has been secured. For their part, the City of Anaheim says that the gondola proposal is one of many options they are considering, and that nothing has been decided.

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique teases new enhancements

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is getting an operational makeover in October. MousePlanet file photo.

In a social media post last week, Disney said that changes are coming to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at both Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom. The video shows the Fairy Godmother approaching Cinderella Castle at the Magic Kingdom, and entering the boutique as a clock chimes in the background.

The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique websites for each resort have been updated to read,

“New enhancements are coming to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, including special visits from The Fairy Godmother! We will also be rolling out new, simplified package options. These updates are coming in early October.”

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Disney Parks (@disneyparks)

At the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, Fairy Godmothers-in-training offer makeovers for children ages 3-12. This video implies that the head Fairy Godmother herself will be stopping in from time to time to check on their work.

The eight packages currently start at $19.95 for the Knight package, which includes a simple hairstyle with gel plus a toy sword and shield, all the way to $450 and up for the The Princess Signature Dress Package, which includes hairstyling, makeup, nail polish, an “heirloom-quality” princess gown and a tiara.

Disney would not yet comment on what the new packages might include, or how the pricing might change.

This and That…

…SF Gate reports that the City of Los Angeles has purchase the Griffith Park Merry-Go-Round, an attraction which plays an important role in Disneyland’s origin story. The 1926 merry-go-round was relocated to Griffith Park in 1937. According to Disney lore, it was the time spent watching his daughters on the ride that inspired Walt Disney to dream of a place that children and parents could enjoy together.

According to the article, the ride is not ready to resume operation. “The parks department would need to release a new request for proposals as part of the ongoing operation of the merry-go-round, and the next steps include a fundraising effort to restore and repair the merry-go-round.” Personally, I would love to see the Walt Disney Company cover most or all of the cost to restore the merry-go-round, perhaps in time for it to commemorate its 100th anniversary in 2026.

You can read more about the Griffith Park Merry-Go-Round here on MousePlanet in “Fifteen Inspirations for Disneyland” by the late Disney historian Jim Korkis.

…At press time both the Enchant and the Inspire Magic Key were still available for new purchases through the Disneyland website.

We also recommend checking the convention calendar at the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor and Convention Bureau website. When looking at that site, remember to note both the number of people and the number of rooms resulting from each convention. A gathering of 25,000 people booking few room nights (indicating most will be driving in to the area for their meeting) can impact traffic around the resort much more than a crowd of 25,000 staying in area hotels. Of course, that second group is going to make finding a hotel room more difficult (and possibly more expensive), so it’s best to book your own room as early as possible if you see that a big convention is in town during your trip.

Tickets, Discounts and Promotions

Disneyland prices as of October 9, 2024.

Note: MousePlanet does not edit past Updates to reflect price increases; for up-to-date prices, check the most recent Disneyland Resort Update. Several current promotions offer discounted admission to the Disneyland Resort. For your convenience, we have grouped the discount offers based on the number of days the tickets are valid. Check out the category that best matches the amount of time you plan to spend at the resort, and pick the offer that works best for you. And keep those tips coming—let us know if you find a better or different offer, so we can share it with other readers!

This first section is a list of discounts on ticket-only purchases. Though it has become more common in recent years, Disneyland tickets are rarely offered at deep discounts unless you are a resident of Southern California or Northern Mexico. For residents outside that area, the best discounts available tend to be simple advance purchase discounts. If you know of any additional discounts, offers, promotions, or contests that should be listed in this section, drop us a line. Note, we are no longer listing offers from the Anaheim-Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau, as their convenience fee negates any savings.

Don’t get scammed! Never buy tickets from an unofficial or secondary outlet, such as through eBay or Craigslist. Never rent or purchase tickets from people approaching you outside the gates stating they have remaining days or leftover tickets. This practice is against the terms of use for Disneyland admission, and may result in denial of entry. It is also common for criminals to shoplift inactivated Disney theme park tickets from supermarkets to resell them. There is no way to determine if these tickets are valid until you try to use them to enter the parks. Only purchase Disney theme park tickets directly from Disney, an authorized seller, or travel agency like MousePlanet travel partner Get Away Today.
