Disneyland Shares 2025 Events Schedule

December 5, 2024 by Adrienne Vincent-Phoenix

Last year the DIsneyland Resort surprised everyone by announcing the entire lineup of festivals and seasonal celebrations for the year all at once, rather than stringing the announcements out for months. This was a huge boon to vacation planners, who had the information they needed to plan their trips around their favorite events and festivities.

I am so happy to see that the Resort has done it again, bringing us the full 2025 lineup in one place. This is even more impactful in 2025, as the resort prepares for an 18-month celebration to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Disneyland park. Let’s dive into the calendar.

Winter and Spring, 2025

I want to note that all of the winter and spring events take place during the time that the new 3-day Southern California Resident discount ticket announced yesterday is valid, and the Kids Special Ticket offer is also available during much of this period. There are lots of reasons to visit the Disneyland Resort before the 70th anniversary celebration kicks off on May 16.

Lunar New Year Celebration at Disney California Adventure – January 17 to February 16, 2025

Disneyland rings in the Year of the Snake in 2025. Look for a return of six festival food booths, plus the always-popular “Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession.” Mickey and Minnie Mouse will don new costumes based on Korean traditional attire.

Anaheim Ducks Days at Disney California Adventure Park – January 24, 2025

The Anaheim Ducks hockey team commemorates its 30th anniversary this year with a two-day celebration at Disney California Adventure. Come out to see current and former players, purchase co-branded merchandise, and participate in themed activities.

Red Car Trolley closes – February 8, 2025

February 8 marks the 24th anniversary of Disney California Adventure, and sadly also the last day of operation for the Red Car Trolley. Disney is demolishing the backstage building which houses the trolley at night as part of the Avengers Campus expansion project, and has sadly decided to eliminate the vehicles from the park entirely. Red Car Trolley fans have a few more weeks to ride before the cars fade back into history.

Celebrate Gospel at Disneyland – February 8 and 15, 2025

This annual event will feature community gospel choirs from Southern California, with a headline performer each weekend. Disney has not yet announced which celebrity performers will headline each weekend.

Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival – February 28 to April 21, 2025

The signature foodie event of the Disneyland Resort returns for a seven-week run in 2025, with two new themed marketplace booths. Disney has confirmed that Soarin’ Over California will also return during the festival.

Season of the Force at Disneyland – March 28 – May 11, 202

Star Wars fans can celebrate May the Fourth for more than five weeks during this Season of the Force event. The entertainment focus appears to be on the truly fantastic “Fire of the Rising Moons” show in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, which Disney says will be further upgraded with new projection effects. Hyperspace Mountain will return, and Disney will surely roll out the full force of their merchandise and foods powers for the event.

May 16 through summer 2026

Disneyland 70 – Celebrate Happy

In a video posted to Instagram Thursday morning, Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock announced that the theme of the 70th anniversary promotion is “Celebrate Happy.”

Disneyland’s 70th will feature a brand-new “World of Color Happiness” show at Disney California Adventure, and the return of the Paint the Night Parade to Main Street, U.S.A. Potrock and the Disney Parks Blog also shared concept art of the 70th anniversary Castle overlay, and confirmed that the “Wondrous Journeys” fireworks will return to Disneyland.

Of course Disneyland can’t celebrate an anniversary without a slew of food and beverage offerings, which will be previewed in coming days. As big as the 70th anniversary looks to be, Disney still has to save some sizzle for the park’s 75th anniversary in 2020.

Walt Disney – A Magical Life – May 16, 2025

The year-long refurbishment of the Main Street Opera House will conclude with the debut of

Disney Jr. Let’s Play! Party – summer 2025

Families with young children are invited for a one-day party at Disney California Adventuring featuring their favorite Disney Jr. characters. Two days of events are planned for Disney California Adventure, giving fans access to some activities without needing park admission. Dates have not been announced.

Late summer and Fall events

  • Halloween Time – August 22 to October 31, 2025
  • Plaza de la Familia – August 22 to November 2, 2025
  • Holidays at the Disneyland Resort – November 14, 2025 – January 7, 2026

There was nothing in Disney’s press release to indicate there will be any major changes to these three celebrations, though some fans still hold out hope for a new Christmas parade one of these years.
