If you want to give your child the experience of building a custom lightsaber at Disneyland – without the $250 price tag – then Savi’s Workshop has a special opportunity for you this summer.
Young visitors to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge can participate in the new Youngling Saber Building Expo – A Loth-Cat Crew Experience at Savi’s Workshop. Children ages 3-9 get almost the full Savi’s Workshop experience, including picking a themed hilt, choosing a kyber crystal to power it, and then customizing the hilt with a variety of accessories.
The catch – they don’t get to take the lightsaber home at the end of the experience. It’s all of the fun without the pricey parting gift.

Now, if your child becomes so enamored with their lightsaber that they can’t bear to part with it at the end of the experience, Savi’s Gatherers will gladly sell you the completed sword for $249.99 plus tax. No discounts apply, but builders do receive a free carrying case.
Youngling Saber Building Expo – A Loth-Cat Crew Experience is offered daily from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. There are no reservations available for this complimentary experience, and a standby queue is in use.

While Disney calls this a “youngling-oriented experience (recommended for visitors ages 3-9, who must be accompanied by an adult),” it also says that “those who are kids at heart” can participate, subject to capacity.
This program is a good opportunity to generate additional interest in Savi’s Workshop and possibly some additional sales during the day. For those who want the full Savi’s experience WITH a lightsaber to take home, the location is still accepting reservations between 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. nightly. You can book the experience on the Disneyland website.

This limited-time offering is part of a summer promotion that includes $50 kids tickets and a big emphasis on activities and entertainment for younger visitors. Disney has not said when it will end, but we’d expect it to conclude no later than August 9. We also note that this offer is exclusively at Disneyland, but we’ll keep an eye out for a similar promotion at Savi’s Workshop in Walt Disney World.
