One of the events that signifies the start of the holdiay season at the Magic Kingdom is Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. This year, the party started on September 15, and will run on select nights through November 1 (for exact dates and more information, check out our MousePlanet event guide).

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is what many people call a hard-ticket event, where you need to purchase a separate ticket to attend, even if you already have an annual pass or park admission media to visit the park for that day.

The procedure is that folks who have a ticket to attend the party can enter the park beginning at 4:00 p.m. You're given a special wristband to identify you as a partygoer. At 7:00 p.m., when the park closes to the general public, all guests without an armband are expected to leave. The treats come out, along with the characters in their Halloween attire, and the party begins.

There are several special entertainment events that are unique to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, including:
- Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular – a musical show featuring the Sanderson Sisters from the movie Hocus Pocus.
- Mickey's Boo To You Halloween Parade – a parade designed especially for the party.
- Celebrate The Magic – a light show using the backdrop of Cinderella's Castle.
- Happy Hallowishes – a fireworks display designed just for this party.
There are also treats for tricksters, with or without costumes. Speaking of costumes, this is one of the only times a year when adults can come to the Magic Kingdom in full costume; a practice that's usually not allowed on Disney property.
