Disneyland Resort Update for November 24, 2025

November 24, 2025 by Adrienne Vincent-Phoenix

Thanksgiving week at Disneyland

It’s Thanksgiving Week at Disneyland, so if you’re visiting this week bring some patience. At press time, there were no theme park reservations available for Magic Key holders, but reservations for single- or multi-day park tickets still look wide open. This of course could change depending on weather, but it looks to be a typically busy, but not overly-crowded, holiday week.

The Floral Mickey still retains the 70th Anniversary logo with the new holiday greenery. Photo by Adrienne Vincent-Phoenix.

If you’ve waited this long to think about your Thanksgiving dinner plans, the bad news is that you have very, very few options. Just like last year, limited reservations are still available in Downtown Disney at Centrico, Paseo, Naples and Splitsville. Great Maple at the Pixar Place Hotel also has a few spots.

Disney California Adventure is hosting the Festival of Holidays, which means you can enjoy a progressive dinner as you sample dishes from the various Festival Marketplace locations around the park. For more options, check out the counter service locations in the park, most of whom have expanded holiday menus.

If you are going to make a feast at a counter-service location, be sure to take advantage of mobile order where possible to avoid longer lines. You can place your order before you even enter the theme parks, and have more control over when and where you’re going to eat.

Whatever you choose, we hope you have a safe and happy holiday week!

It’s time for candy canes!

The long wait is over, and this Friday marks the start of the 2025 Candy Cane season at the Disneyland Resort. If you are hoping to get your hands on one of the hand-made treats, be sure you know how the distribution process is changing this year.

November 28 is the first of six consecutive days to get a candy cane, as follows:

  • Friday, November 28 – Disneyland Candy Palace
  • Saturday, November 29 – Disney California Adventure Trolley Treats
  • Sunday, November 30 – Disneyland Candy Palace
  • Monday, December 1 – Disney California Adventure Trolley Treats
  • Tuesday, December 2 – Disneyland Candy Palace
  • Wednesday, December 3 – Disney California Adventure Trolley Treats
Master candy maker Rob McHargue (left) was the face of Disneyland’s candy cane tradition until his passing in 2017. McHargue trained many of the candy makers who continue to make the treats at the Disneyland Resort. MousePlanet file photo.

If you have the luxury of being able to go any day you want, your best bet is to pick a weekday when candy canes are being released at Disney California Adventure, which tends to have lower crowds. Sundays will be the busiest days.

Once you decide when to go, check to see what time the park opens and get to the front gates at least one hour early. December 1 and 2 are Early Entry dates at the same park where candy canes will be released, and so the gates will open 30 minutes before the published time, granting early access to Main Street and/or Buena Vista Street.

As soon as the entrance opens, walk briskly straight to either Trolley Treats or the Main Street Candy Kitchen and look for the cast members who will direct you into a line outside the shop.

This year Disney is ditching the mobile wait list and going back to a wristband distribution system. The last time this system was used, the color-coded wristbands were printed with the time for you to return to claim your candy cane. Depending on when you arrive, you may get a wristband for a candy cane from the first batch of the day, or you may be in a later group with a 1:30 p.m. or later return time.

2026 Military Hotel discounts

A week after Disney announced their 2026 Military Ticket offer, the company confirmed that hotel discounts will also extend into 2026.

Eligible service members and their families can receive discounted rates on the three Disneyland Resort Hotels all through 2026. MousePlanet file photo.

The new hotel discount is valid for all of 2026, January 1 through December 31, 2026, and must be booked by December 27, 2026.

As has been the case for the past several years Disney did not publish the actual discounted rates, and instead directed eligible U.S. military personnel to call (866) 309-9737 to check pricing, availability and to make reservations. If you’re making travel plans for 2026, it’s worth calling the number above to see if there are any special military offers available during your stay.

The offer is available to eligible service members, (active or retired members of the US military, including the National Guard, Reservists, the US Coast Guard, the US Space Force, the Commissioned Corps of the Public Health Service (PHS) and the Commissioned Corps of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) ), and their spouses with proper military ID.

Those who qualify can book up to two rooms under this offer, and eligible service member or spouse must stay in the room on the reservation.

2026 Disneyland After Dark Events

Disneyland has released the themes, dates and details for all of the 2026 Disneyland After Dark events, so visitors can start making their plans to attend these after-hours parties on Main Street, U.S.A.

There are five theme events planned for 2026, and tickets for the earliest Nites go on sale December 9, 2025. Here is a quick recap of what is in store for 2026, but we published the full rundown on MousePlanet last week.

Disneyland After Dark: Sweethearts’ Nite will take place on Jan. 22, 25, 27 and Feb. 3, 5, 8, 10, 12, 17, 2026, in Disneyland park in Anaheim, Calif. These themed evenings will include after-hours theme park ride access, unique entertainment, beloved and sometimes rare character appearances, specialty food, beverage, merchandise and more. More details can be found on DisneyParksBlog.com. (Disneyland Resort)

Disneyland After Dark: Sweethearts’ Nite

A returning favorite, Sweethearts’ Nite has the most event dates of the year, running 9 nights between January 22 and February 17, 2026, with pricing based on which night you attend:

  • Thursday, January 22 – $169
  • Sunday, January 25 – $169

Highlights and updates this year include a new Celebrate Love cavalcade, and Disney Duets karaoke at the Golden Horseshoe. A new offering called “Once Upon a Dream – A Musical Journey Through the Disney Songbook” will feature live singers, and is described as, “a musical look at love and romance, which features a variety of Disney royalty and culminates in a nighttime ball beneath the stars.” New character encounters include Madrigal Sisters from “Encanto.”

Disneyland After Dark: 70 Years of Favorites

A new theme for 2026, 70 Years of Favorites takes place on just two nights:

  • Tuesday, March 3 – $159
  • Thursday, March 5 – $159

This event is of course tied to Disneyland’s ongoing 70th Anniversary celebration, and includes tributes to favorite characters and attractions from today and days gone by. For many, the highlight is likely to be the Videopolis Dance Party at Tomorrowland Terrace, a revival of the hot spot of 1980s Disneyland.

For others, the big draw may be the opportunity to see some favorite characters of the past. In a video posted to the new DisneylandResortPresident account on Instagram, Disneyland Resort President Thomas Mazloum provided a preview of who will appear at the event. We’ve linked the full video, but also snapped a screen grab of Mazloum’s checklist.

Disney has not released on-sale dates or pricing for these final three events of the 2026 season, but they have confirmed the themes and dates:

New 2-Day Disneyland Ticket at Costco for 2026

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is SBCastleRoses1600-071724-AVP-1024x768.jpg

Costco is out with a new 2026 Disneyland ticket offer which can save you up to $113 per person on the purchase of a 2-day park hopper ticket with Lightning Lane Multi Pass. The offer is quite different than the one released last spring, so read all of the details to see if this is a good option for your travel needs.

This new ticket is $389.99 for all ages, and is a fully-loaded two-day ticket, including Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Park Hopper. A standard two-day ticket with the same perks would run $503.00 for adults.

The new offer is valid for admission January 8 through June 12, 2026, so it’s good for the spring festivals like Lunar New Year and Food & Wine Festival, as well as the closing months of Disneyland’s 70th anniversary promotion.

A post shared by Costco (@costco)

Unlike the 2025 offer, this deal does not include a Disney Dining Gift Card or any other benefits. And, unlike the 2025 offer, this ticket DOES have a “fuse,” which means you must use the second admission date within 13 days of your first visit, (or on June 12, 2026, whichever occurs first). Theme park reservations are required, so be sure to make your park reservations as soon as possible so you get the dates you want.

Like the 2025 offer, this ticket is currently available only at select regional warehouses in California, Washington and Oregon. It may also be available in Idaho, but as of publication time had not yet appeared in stores in Arizona or Utah. (Please drop us a message to parkupdates@mouseplanet.com and let us know if you ticket in a Costco outside of California.) It is also not available online as of press time, but it’s always worth keeping an eye out to see if it shows up on Thanksgiving Day or Black Friday.

There is no residency requirement to purchase this ticket, and each Costco member can purchase up to 20 tickets.

This new ticket offers a discount, but is it a deal? We ran the numbers in our article on Sunday, and think there are much better ways for some visitors to save money on their next Disneyland visit. Read the full article for our analysis.

This and That

…Disneyland kicked off a sale at select merchandise locations, with discounts of up to 50% off.

…Disney has discontinued mobile ordering for several candy shop locations in the Resort, including Candy Palace and Pooh Corner in Disneyland; Trolley Treats and Bing Bong’s Sweets in Disney California Adventure; and the Wonderful World of Sweets in the Downtown Disney district.

  • D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event – Aug. 14-16, 2026. Tickets go on sale spring, 2026.

We also recommend checking the convention calendar at the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor and Convention Bureau website. When looking at that site, remember to note both the number of people and the number of rooms resulting from each convention. A gathering of 25,000 people booking few room nights (indicating most will be driving in to the area for their meeting) can impact traffic around the resort much more than a crowd of 25,000 staying in area hotels. Of course, that second group is going to make finding a hotel room more difficult (and possibly more expensive), so it’s best to book your own room as early as possible if you see that a big convention is in town during your trip.

Tickets, Discounts and Promotions

Disneyland prices as of October 8, 2025.

Note: MousePlanet does not edit past Updates to reflect price increases; for up-to-date prices, check the most recent Disneyland Resort Update. Several current promotions offer discounted admission to the Disneyland Resort. For your convenience, we have grouped the discount offers based on the number of days the tickets are valid. Check out the category that best matches the amount of time you plan to spend at the resort, and pick the offer that works best for you. And keep those tips coming—let us know if you find a better or different offer, so we can share it with other readers!

This first section is a list of discounts on ticket-only purchases. Though it has become more common in recent years, Disneyland tickets are rarely offered at deep discounts unless you are a resident of Southern California or Northern Mexico. For residents outside that area, the best discounts available tend to be simple advance purchase discounts. If you know of any additional discounts, offers, promotions, or contests that should be listed in this section, drop us a line. Note, we are no longer listing offers from the Anaheim-Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau, as their convenience fee negates any savings.

Don’t get scammed! Never buy tickets from an unofficial or secondary outlet, such as through eBay or Craigslist. Never rent or purchase tickets from people approaching you outside the gates stating they have remaining days or leftover tickets. This practice is against the terms of use for Disneyland admission, and may result in denial of entry. It is also common for criminals to shoplift inactivated Disney theme park tickets from supermarkets to resell them. There is no way to determine if these tickets are valid until you try to use them to enter the parks. Only purchase Disney theme park tickets directly from Disney, an authorized seller, or travel agency like MousePlanet travel partner Get Away Today.

California Resident Park Hopper Ticket

The California Resident Park Hopper ticket is $249, a savings of more than 50% when compared to the new price ($526) of a 3-day park hopper ticket. The ticket is valid for all ages 3 and older, for visits between January 1 through May 21, 2026.

The new ticket goes on sale December 3, 2025. Theme park reservations are required to use this ticket, and we strongly recommend making them as soon as you purchase the ticket so you have the best selection of dates.

The best news is that there is no “fuse” on this ticket, and no blockout dates. You can space out your visits to catch the holiday decorations and entertainment at Disneyland before they end on January 7, return in February for the Lunar New Year celebration, and visit one more time to enjoy the Food & Wine Festival.

It is really important to note that everyone purchasing and/or using the ticket must be a resident of California. This means you can’t purchase them for out-of-state friends and family, and everyone over the age of 18 should be prepared to show government-issued photo ID at entry.

Find full details here.

2025 Military Hotel discounts

Military discounts are valid for stays most nights from January 1 through December 27, 2025. You can book now through December 23, 2025, and travel must be completed by December 28, 2024.

Disney does not publish the actual discounted rates, and instead asks eligible U.S. military personnel to call (800) 453-4911 to check pricing, availability and to make reservations. In past years, the offer was generally 30% to 40% off, based on room category. Concierge rooms, Signature or Premium suites, or 2-or 3-Bedroom Villas are excluded from the offer, and this offer can not be combined with any other discount.

Unlike the Walt Disney World version, the Disneyland offer allows the eligible service member to book up to two rooms, and allows their spouse (with valid and proper ID) to qualify in the absence of the service member.
