Disney California Adventure marks 25 years
Disney California Adventure turns 25 next Sunday, February 8, and the park is commemorating the silver anniversary with a weekend celebration and the return of an opening day attraction. There are also nods to the 25th anniversary of Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa and the Downtown Disney District.

We’ve detailed all of the anniversary events in this article on MousePlanet, so anyone planning to visit Friday through Sunday will know what to expect.

Two more Disneyland After Dark events on sale this week
Tickets for the next two Disneyland After Dark events go on sale this week, with a limited pre-sale opportunity for Magic Key holders opening Tuesday, February 3. Disney also released pricing for the events.

First up is Disneyland After Dark: Disney Channel Nite. Disney Channel Nite gives fans of the channel and its shows the opportunity to indulge in an evening of nostalgia with themed entertainment, food offerings and character interactions. There are three events planned for 2026.
Thursday, April 16 – $159
Sunday, April 12 – $169
Tuesday, April 14 – $159
Tickets for Disney Channel Nite go on sale in waves starting Tuesday, February 3 as follows. (All sales begin no earlier than 9:00 a.m. Pacific on the event website.)
- Tuesday, February 3 – Limited pre-sale for Inspire Key holders.
- Wednesday, February 4 – Limited pre-sale for all Magic Key holders.

Next is the return of Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite. A fan favorite, Star Wars Nite offers a variety of live entertainment and character encounters, including “The March of the First Order” in Tomorrowland; Darth Maul at Tomorrowland Terrace; appearances by Figrin D’an and the Modal Nodes (also known as the Cantina Band). Of course, there will be themed food and special event merchandise for Star Wars fans to purchase.
Star Wars Nite returns for just four evenings in 2026:
- Tuesday, April 28 – $174
- Thursday, April 30 – $174
- Monday, May 4 – $189
- Wednesday, May 6 – $174
Tickets for Star Wars Nite go on sale in waves starting Tuesday, February 3 as follows. (All sales begin no earlier than 9:00 a.m. Pacific on the event website.)
Thursday, February 5 – General admission sale begins
Tuesday, February 3 – Limited pre-sale for Inspire Key holders.
Wednesday, February 4 – Limited pre-sale for all Magic Key holders.

Finally, Disney added a few more details about the Disneyland After Dark: 70 Years of Favorites events taking place on March 3 and 5. This event is of course tied to Disneyland’s ongoing 70th Anniversary celebration, and includes tributes to favorite characters and attractions from today and days gone by. For many, the highlight is likely to be the Videopolis Dance Party at Tomorrowland Terrace, a revival of the hot spot of 1980s Disneyland.
With tickets still available, Disney added that fans of Disneyland musicals of the past may want to catch “Sounds of Magic” a “riverfront serenade” featuring live performances of favorite songs from “Tiana’s Showboat Jubilee,” “Frozen – Live at the Hyperion” and more.
Anaheim Resort Transit system to “wind down” bus service in Disneyland Resort area

The Anaheim Transportation Network (ATN), a service which operates shuttle bus service throughout the Anaheim Resort District, announced last week that it will “wind down” operations by March 31, 2026 due to persistent budget shortfalls. ATN operates the Anaheim Resort Transit (ART) program, which provides transportation between many Disneyland-area hotels and the park’s main entrance, as well as extended service to Anaheim destinations. In its 2025-2026 budget proposal, the network claimed annual ridership of 9.2 million passengers.
The news has left some vacation planners wondering if they need to make different hotel reservations for their upcoming Disneyland vacations. When visitors pick a hotel for their Disneyland vacation, proximity to the theme parks is a major consideration. What feels like an 15-minute walk to the parks from your hotel in the morning feels completely different when you’re heading back at night, possibly with an armload of tired children. Since the late 1990s, ART has providing vital transportation infrastructure within the Resort area. ART made it easier for families to stay at more affordable hotels a little further away, and to save money on car rental and parking fees.
Now vacation planners need to take a second look at their hotel choices to see what their options might be once ART stops rolling. The Orange County Register quotes Anaheim city spokesperson Mike Lyster as saying, “No one should be concerned about any upcoming visit to our city. Anyone who’s been to our theme parks knows the high level of service getting from parking to the gates. We have every confidence that will continue.” Lyster said hotels on the ART routes are already looking at alternative transportation options.
We want to point out that this change has no impact on the shuttle bus service currently provided by Disney between the Toy Story Parking Lot and the main entrance. Visitors who park in the Toy Story Lot will still have access to those buses, and do not need to walk to Disneyland.
Black History Month at the Disneyland Resort
The Disneyland Resort will honor Black History Month with two weekends of Celebrate Gospel concerts in a new location, as well as a new “heritage trail” paying tribute to “influential Black leaders, artists and thinkers from the past and present.”

Celebrate Gospel goes Downtown
Celebrate Gospel has evolved quite a bit from its origins in 2010. In recent year Celebrate Gospel has expanded to feature award-winning peformers and headliners in addition to a sampling of local choirs and groups. This year the event will take place outside of the theme parks, at the Downtown Disney LIVE! Stage in the Downtown Disney District. Attendees can now enjoy the performance without needing to purchase theme park admission.

Black History Month Heritage Trail
For several years Disney has installed small displays honoring the contributions of Black Americans throughout the parks, if you knew where to look. This year the offering is a bit better publicized. The “Heritage Trail” will include tributes to Disney Research Fellow and Imagineer Lanny Smoot, composer Scott Joplin, animator Ron Husband, Disney Legend Martha Blanding, animator Floyd Norman and more. Here are all of the locations along the trail.
Disneyland Park
- Frontierland – Dom Flemons
- Main Street, U.S.A.– Martha Blanding, Frederick Douglass and Scott Joplin
- New Orleans Square – Leah Chase and Ron Husband
- Tomorrowland – Guion S. Bluford Jr.
Disney California Adventure Park
- Buena Vista Street – Floyd Norman
- Hollywood Land – Lanny Smoot, Austin Taylor, Marlon West and Olun Riley
Downtown Disney District
- Downtown Disney LIVE! Stage – Nikkolas Smith
This and That
…At press time, all four tiers of Magic Key passes are still available for purchase.
…CBS News reports that health officials have confirmed that a person with measles visited the Disneyland Resort on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2026. According to the report, “potential exposure windows to the public included Goofy’s Kitchen in the Disneyland Hotel from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park from 12:30 p.m until the parks closed that day.” Anyone who believes they may have been exposed should watch for symptoms for up to 21 days from exposure.

We also recommend checking the convention calendar at the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor and Convention Bureau website. When looking at that site, remember to note both the number of people and the number of rooms resulting from each convention. A gathering of 25,000 people booking few room nights (indicating most will be driving in to the area for their meeting) can impact traffic around the resort much more than a crowd of 25,000 staying in area hotels. Of course, that second group is going to make finding a hotel room more difficult (and possibly more expensive), so it’s best to book your own room as early as possible if you see that a big convention is in town during your trip.
Tickets, Discounts and Promotions
Disneyland prices as of October 8, 2025.
Note: MousePlanet does not edit past Updates to reflect price increases; for up-to-date prices, check the most recent Disneyland Resort Update. Several current promotions offer discounted admission to the Disneyland Resort. For your convenience, we have grouped the discount offers based on the number of days the tickets are valid. Check out the category that best matches the amount of time you plan to spend at the resort, and pick the offer that works best for you. And keep those tips coming—let us know if you find a better or different offer, so we can share it with other readers!
This first section is a list of discounts on ticket-only purchases. Though it has become more common in recent years, Disneyland tickets are rarely offered at deep discounts unless you are a resident of Southern California or Northern Mexico. For residents outside that area, the best discounts available tend to be simple advance purchase discounts. If you know of any additional discounts, offers, promotions, or contests that should be listed in this section, drop us a line. Note, we are no longer listing offers from the Anaheim-Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau, as their convenience fee negates any savings.
Don’t get scammed! Never buy tickets from an unofficial or secondary outlet, such as through eBay or Craigslist. Never rent or purchase tickets from people approaching you outside the gates stating they have remaining days or leftover tickets. This practice is against the terms of use for Disneyland admission, and may result in denial of entry. It is also common for criminals to shoplift inactivated Disney theme park tickets from supermarkets to resell them. There is no way to determine if these tickets are valid until you try to use them to enter the parks. Only purchase Disney theme park tickets directly from Disney, an authorized seller, or travel agency like MousePlanet travel partner Get Away Today.

California Resident Park Hopper Ticket
The California Resident Park Hopper ticket is $249, a savings of more than 50% when compared to the new price ($526) of a 3-day park hopper ticket. The ticket is valid for all ages 3 and older, for visits between January 1 through May 21, 2026.
Theme park reservations are required to use this ticket, and we strongly recommend making them as soon as you purchase the ticket so you have the best selection of dates.
The best news is that there is no “fuse” on this ticket, and no blockout dates. You can space out your visits to catch the holiday decorations and entertainment at Disneyland before they end on January 7, return in February for the Lunar New Year celebration, and visit one more time to enjoy the Food & Wine Festival.
It is really important to note that everyone purchasing and/or using the ticket must be a resident of California. This means you can’t purchase them for out-of-state friends and family, and everyone over the age of 18 should be prepared to show government-issued photo ID at entry.

Fortunately, Disneyland has just released their full 2026 Event and Festival calendar so you can be ready to make reservations for the events you want to attend.
You can change your dates later, but Disney will set aside only a limited number of reservations for this ticket type each day and so you may not be able to get the dates you want later. As with the prior offer, the terms state, “reservation availability for Kids’ Special Offer Ticket holders is not guaranteed for any date, and reservations may be difficult to get for any particular date, especially as the ticket expiration date approaches.”
