Bluey’s Busy Debut

Bluey’s Best Day Ever debuted Sunday morning, drawing crowds the Disneyland Resort didn’t quite seem prepared for. A line formed outside the Fantasyland Theater as soon as Disneyland opened Sunday morning, and by the time the theater itself opened slightly before 9:00 a.m., the line was all the way down to the Storybook Land Canal Boats entrance.
The end of the line for Bluey’s Best Day Ever! is currently almost to the Hub. It is getting longer as I type this. pic.twitter.com/dodfA1ZojZ
— Daps Magic ~ Disney and positive stuff! (@DAPs_Magic) March 22, 2026
Photos posted by Daps Magic show the queue had reached Sleeping Beauty Castle by 11:00 a.m. Other visitors reported that Disney removed the show times from the sign outside the theater, and closed the queue for the day. We can confirm Disney removed the last three performances of the day from the Disneyland website and mobile app for Sunday, though all five shows are listed starting on Monday.
Inside the theater, Bluey and friends played to a packed house. During Saturday’s media preview the area in front of the stage was open for children to dance along with the show, but on Sunday ushers were having audience members sit on the dance floor a la Playhouse Disney.

What exactly is Bluey’s Best Day Ever?
The Fantasyland Theater has been transformed into the grounds of Bluey’s school, where Bluey, her sister Bingo and their friends are enjoying a fun fair. The sisters are joined on stage by a live five-piece band and a group of performers.
Various characters from the hit animated series appear in the shows via hand puppets, animated graphics, balloon puppets and costume changes. There are two versions of the stage show, and they alternate.

When the theater isn’t jam-packed, you can spend the intermission between shows taking photos with oversized props, exploring the fairy garden and gnome village, or playing games with cast members around the theater. The nearby Troubadour Tavern is open with a menu of Bluey-inspired foods, and Fantasy Faire Gifts is stocked with Bluey souvenirs and apparel.
The theater is open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day, and there are five performance times listed on the schedule:
- 9:30 a.m.
- 10:50 a.m.
- 12:10 p.m.
- 1:50 p.m.
- 3:10 p.m.
If you want to see both versions of the stage show, plan to spend about 90 minutes in the theater once you get inside.

Several readers have asked us if there is a meet-and-greet opportunity with the Heeler sisters, and unfortunately there is not at this time. There are photo spots around the theater where you can get pictures with set pieces featuring some characters from the series, but you won’t be able to stand with or get autographs from Bluey and Bingo.

When will the fuss die down?
Sunday’s opening-day crowds were likely boosted by this being the last weekend before Spring Break blackouts begin. Magic Key reservations were at capacity for Sunday, and it’s a safe bet that many of those visitors were hoping to see Bluey’s new show.

We should note that Magic Key reservations are also sold out through this coming Friday, March 27, so this entire week should be pretty busy in Fantasyland. All but the top-tier Inspire Magic Key are blocked out for 10 days starting next Saturday for the peak Spring Break period.
We don’t expect the turnout for Bluey’s Best Day Ever to stay at opening day levels for more than a week or so, but it would be a mistake to discount the demand for this incredibly popular series.
According to Variety, Bluey was the most-streamed show in any category for both 2025 and 2024. The series has won several international Emmy awards, and is widely loved among preschoolers and their families. While many of our adult readers are wondering what all the fuss is about, anyone who has a child or grandchild in the 2-7 demographic has certainly heard of the show. Our hope is that Disney quickly pivots to a virtual queue system if necessary so that fans of Bluey can enjoy this new episode without an hours-long wait.

Bluey merchandise drop

A small collection of Bluey merchandise was released on Friday at the Disneyland Resort, ahead of the show’s debut on Sunday. The lineup includes some apparel which is branded with the Disney Parks logo, and at this time is only available in California. Other items are available from the Disney Store website, or at national retailers like WalMart.
More Bluey merchandise is said to be “coming soon,” including apparel and accessories for adults and kids. We think the plush with Bluey and Bingo wearing Mickey and Minnie headbands will be a huge hit.

Savannah Bananas are back this week

The Greatest Show in Sports returns to the Disneyland Resort this week as the Savannah Bananas and new expansion team the Indianapolis Clowns visit on Thursday, March 26.
This year the teams will appear at both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, and there will be a special Savannah Bananas merchandise pop-up location in Downtown Disney.
Here’s where to see the Bananas, and how to purchase the limited merchandise created for this event.
Disneyland
The Savanah Bananas will again perform in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle at 10:00 a.m. Thursday morning. Based on their 2025 visit, you’ll want to arrive before park opening to have a chance of getting a decent view of the small performance space.
If you can’t squeeze in to the Castle forecourt, take a seat along Main Street for the Savannah Bananas Cavalcade down the Disneyland parade route at 12:30 p.m.
Disney California Adventure
If you are only visiting DCA on Thursday, don’t worry – the Bananas are coming to you too. The team will perform in the World of Color viewing area at 1:30 p.m. This location has a larger audience capacity than Sleeping Beauty Castle, but it’s still worth arriving early and checking with cast members to see when you can start saving spots.
Select players will also appear at a meet-and-greet opportunity starting at 2:15 p.m. near the Hyperion Theater. You must pre-register for this opportunity using the virtual queue starting at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. Here are the instructions from the Disneyland website:
On March 26, you can request to join the virtual queue through the Disneyland app* at 9:00 a.m. PT. To join, you must have a theme park reservation for Disney California Adventure park with a one-park ticket or a Park Hopper ticket.
You’ll be assigned a boarding group when joining a queue. When your group is called, we’ll send you a push notification. Once your group is called, scan your ticket or entry code to pick up your wristband.
Return to the location when the greeting opportunities begin at 2:15 p.m. to exchange high‑fives and snap photos with select players.
Virtual queue boarding groups are extremely limited and available while supplies last. Wristbands will only be distributed to guests who have obtained a virtual queue boarding group entry code. Wristbands have no cash value, may not be sold, and will not be replaced if lost, stolen, or damaged. Wristband availability and procedures are subject to change without notice.
Shopping
A pop-up location will be located on the west side of Downtown Disney, near the Monorail station, offering a selection of Savannah Bananas merchandise PLUS a Savannah Bananas Disney tee and pin. This location will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and merchandise is available while supplies last.
Dining
A variety of banana-themed treats will be available throughout the Disneyland Resort on Thursday. The Disney Eats account shared the lineup on Instagram.

Disney+ Throwback Dance Party in Downtown Disney

Downtown Disney will host a new Disney+ Throwback Dance Party at the Downtown Disney Live Stage starting this Friday, March 27.
The DJ-driven dance party is “inspired by classic Disney Channel throwback favorites like Hannah Montana, High School Musical, The Cheetah Girls and Camp Rock.”
The event runs Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from March 27 through June 7, 2026, with performances at Noon, 1:00, 2:00 and 3:00 p.m. The Downtown Disney Live Stage is on the west end of Downtown Disney, near the Monorail station.
Now open: more seating areas in both parks
Last spring Disneyland converted the Port Royal Curios and Curiosities gift shop in New Orleans Square into a seating area for the adjacent Royal Street Verandah, replacing merchandise fixtures with tables and chairs. The transformation was short-lived, and by the July 4th holiday weekend the location had been converted back to a retail store selling Disney Villains and Nightmare Before Christmas merchandise.
It seems Disneyland is giving this another go, as the location reopened last week as the Port Royal Jazz Club.
Over in Disney California Adventure, the former Fastpass distribution area across from the Guardians of the Galaxy attraction has been converted into another seating area. This provides a place for people to enjoy their snacks from the nearby Terran Treats and Shawarma Palace Too carts, as well as overflow seating for Pym Test Kitchen.

This and That

…Chef Andrew Sutton, Culinary Director of Signature Dining at the Disneyland Resort, has left Disney after more than 25 years. Sutton opened Napa Rose at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel in 2001, and later came to head not only Napa Rose but also Carthay Circle Restaurant and Lounge in Disney California Adventure, as well as Club 33 and 21 Royal in Disneyland.
Most recently, Sutton oversaw the renovation of Napa Rose, which reopened in February with a new kitchen, dining room and menu. At this time Sutton still appears on the Napa Rose website, and there has been no word of who will succeed him at the Disneyland Resort.
…Grizzly River Run is still listed on Disneyland’s refurbishment schedule as closed through at least May 3, but visitors noticed the ride had been refilled with water and empty rafts were running last week. The water ride has been closed since January 5 for annual maintenance. In 2025, the ride was closed from January 6 through March 13 for its annual refurbishment, so we’re hoping this is a sign the ride may reopen in time for the peak spring break crowds.
…Silly Symphony Swings is a new addition to the refurbishment calendar at Disney California Adventure. The ride closes for refurbishment April 27, and the reopening date is not published.
…At press time, all four tiers of Magic Key passes are still available for purchase.
…At press time, tickets were still available for all Disneyland After Dark: Disney Channel Nite events. Disneyland recently posted updated information about food and merchandise offerings for this event.
…At press time, tickets are still available for the Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite events on Tuesday, April 28 and Thursday, May 6. Tickets to the events on April 30 and May 4 are sold out. Disneyland recently posted updated information about food and merchandise offerings for this event.

We also recommend checking the convention calendar at the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor and Convention Bureau website. When looking at that site, remember to note both the number of people and the number of rooms resulting from each convention. A gathering of 25,000 people booking few room nights (indicating most will be driving in to the area for their meeting) can impact traffic around the resort much more than a crowd of 25,000 staying in area hotels. Of course, that second group is going to make finding a hotel room more difficult (and possibly more expensive), so it’s best to book your own room as early as possible if you see that a big convention is in town during your trip.
Tickets, Discounts and Promotions
Disneyland prices as of October 8, 2025.
Note: MousePlanet does not edit past Updates to reflect price increases; for up-to-date prices, check the most recent Disneyland Resort Update. Several current promotions offer discounted admission to the Disneyland Resort. For your convenience, we have grouped the discount offers based on the number of days the tickets are valid. Check out the category that best matches the amount of time you plan to spend at the resort, and pick the offer that works best for you. And keep those tips coming—let us know if you find a better or different offer, so we can share it with other readers!
This first section is a list of discounts on ticket-only purchases. Though it has become more common in recent years, Disneyland tickets are rarely offered at deep discounts unless you are a resident of Southern California or Northern Mexico. For residents outside that area, the best discounts available tend to be simple advance purchase discounts. If you know of any additional discounts, offers, promotions, or contests that should be listed in this section, drop us a line. Note, we are no longer listing offers from the Anaheim-Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau, as their convenience fee negates any savings.
Don’t get scammed! Never buy tickets from an unofficial or secondary outlet, such as through eBay or Craigslist. Never rent or purchase tickets from people approaching you outside the gates stating they have remaining days or leftover tickets. This practice is against the terms of use for Disneyland admission, and may result in denial of entry. It is also common for criminals to shoplift inactivated Disney theme park tickets from supermarkets to resell them. There is no way to determine if these tickets are valid until you try to use them to enter the parks. Only purchase Disney theme park tickets directly from Disney, an authorized seller, or travel agency like MousePlanet travel partner Get Away Today.

California Resident Park Hopper Ticket
The California Resident Park Hopper ticket is $249, a savings of more than 50% when compared to the new price ($526) of a 3-day park hopper ticket. The ticket is valid for all ages 3 and older, for visits between January 1 through May 21, 2026.
Theme park reservations are required to use this ticket, and we strongly recommend making them as soon as you purchase the ticket so you have the best selection of dates.
The best news is that there is no “fuse” on this ticket, and no blockout dates. You can space out your visits to catch the holiday decorations and entertainment at Disneyland before they end on January 7, return in February for the Lunar New Year celebration, and visit one more time to enjoy the Food & Wine Festival.
It is really important to note that everyone purchasing and/or using the ticket must be a resident of California. This means you can’t purchase them for out-of-state friends and family, and everyone over the age of 18 should be prepared to show government-issued photo ID at entry.
Find full details here.

Fortunately, Disneyland has just released their full 2026 Event and Festival calendar so you can be ready to make reservations for the events you want to attend.
You can change your dates later, but Disney will set aside only a limited number of reservations for this ticket type each day and so you may not be able to get the dates you want later. As with the prior offer, the terms state, “reservation availability for Kids’ Special Offer Ticket holders is not guaranteed for any date, and reservations may be difficult to get for any particular date, especially as the ticket expiration date approaches.”
