Grad Nites begin this week
The first Grad Nite events of the 2026 season take place this week, with the debut Grad Nite this past Sunday, and three more scheduled this Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. There are an average of 2-3 Grad Nite events each week through June 12.

Participating groups again had three ticket options for 2026. Many schools come just for the after-hours private party inside Disney California Adventure, which closes to the public at 9:00 p.m. each event night. Other schools opt to spend the day at Disney California Adventure, and then stay for the private grad nite event.
Some students splurge on a ticket that includes park-hopper access to both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure parks during regular operating hours, and then head to their private party in Disney California Adventure at 9:00 p.m.
Schools that booked packages with theme park admission can choose to arrive whenever they wish during their Grad Nite event. Some arrive right at park opening to maximize their time, while others arrive later due to travel time or other activities. Expect heavier arrival traffic in the Toy Story parking lot, which is where school buses park. You should also expect to see the parks grow increasingly crowded as the day goes on and more students arrive.
Beware: Formal Grad Nites are not the only times that the Disneyland Resort is crowded with student groups. These last weeks of school are popular times for class trips, something that Disney actively encourages through special pricing and activities for school groups. Those visits won’t appear on any calendar, but are a fact of Disney life during this season.

With so many schools on year-round calendars now, you should consider the period between March and mid-June as one big, hazy spring-break-into-graduation season at the Disneyland Resort. So while the Grad Nite calendar can give you an idea of when the most high school seniors will be on property, there’s no way to know when a school district from Central California is sending its ninth graders for their own promotion celebration.
If you’re planning a visit during this period, be sure to consult the schedule of Grad Nite dates so you can plan appropriately. For 2026, Grad Nite events are held on May 8, 12, 13, 15, 17, 20, 21, 28, 29, 31, and June 3, 5, 7, 10, 12, 2026
If you happen to visit on a Grad Nite, don’t despair. Just keep in mind that Disney California Adventure does close to the public at 9:00 p.m., and you’ll only have one chance to catch World of Color Happiness! on event nights. We recommend starting your day in Disney California Adventure, and then hopping over to Disneyland by mid-afternoon as the grads arrive. Disneyland closes at 11 p.m. or Midnight on Grad Nites, so you’ll have a couple of grad-free hours in that park after the party begins in DCA.
Now, if you or your grad happen to be going to Grad Nite, be sure to download the Disneyland app, which contains the digital guide to the after-hours party. You can find special entertainment, character greetings and food offerings on the app.
Autopia going electric by 2027

In 2024 Disneyland announced that the classic Autopia attraction was “on the road to electrification in the next few years.” Now the Orange County Register reports that Disney has begun testing electric-powered prototypes of the Autopia vehicles in a drive to replace the entire fleet by early 2027.
There is no word on when Disney will make the switch, or if the ride will close for refurbishment to accomplish the changeover.
Oogie Boogie Bash tickets on sale in June

We were expecting Disneyland to drop the on-sale dates for Oogie Boogie Bash during the recent Halfway to Halloween promotion, and were surprised when nothing was announced or even hinted. Then last week Disneyland sent an email to Magic Key holders, and buried at the bottom were the Magic Key pre-sale dates for the after-hours Halloween party.
Mark your calendars! Tickets for Oogie Boogie Bash go on sale in late June 2026! Pre-sale tickets will be available for Magic Key holders no earlier than 9 a.m. PT on Disneyland.com beginning on the below dates:
All Magic Key holders (limited amount of tickets for pre-sale): June 17, 2026
Inspire Magic Key holders (limited amount of tickets for pre-sale): June 16, 2026
The email did not list the on sale date for the general public, but based on prior years we’d expect that to be June 18, 2026. We’re still awaiting an official announcement from Disneyland on that topic.

Speaking of announcements, we’re also really looking forward to hearing about Disney’s plans for Oogie Boogie Bash, especially in terms of entertainment. It’s no secret that the backstage area around the building which houses the parade floats is under construction for the new Encanto attraction. With the Avenger’s Campus expansion also underway, it’s unclear if Disney has room backstage to park the Frightfully Fun Parade floats on either end of the parade route between performances.
The event page on the Disneyland website is unusually low on details about the party, simply saying, “the park transforms into a family-friendly, frightfully fun after-hours event filled with tricks and treats!” There’s no longer any mention of the parade, nor the treat trails, Villains Grove or any entertainment specifics.
Disney announced the dates for Oogie Boogie Bash last year, so you can start making plans to visit.
- August 18, 20, 23, 25, 27, 30
- September 1, 3, 6, 8, 10, 13, 15, 17, 20, 22, 24, 27, 29
- October 1, 4, 6, 8, 11, 13, 15, 18, 20, 22, 25, 27, 29, 31
There are 33 event dates in 2026, the first two taking place even before the official start of Halloween Time on August 21. Tickets to the 2025 event ran $139 – $199 per person, depending on date.

Disneyland license plate proposed in California

California residents may soon be able to purchase an official Disneyland license plate as part of the state’s special license plate program, with proceeds going into a fund to support 13 children’s hospitals in California.
A minimum of 7500 people must pre-order the plates before they can be put into production, and interested drivers can join an interest list now to show their support.
Based on the fees for other special interest plates in California, we expect the Disneyland plates will follow the same structure of $50 for a new sequential plate, or $103 for a new personalized plate. Renewal fees are $40 / $83 annually.
To join the interest list, visit the Office of the State Treasurer website. When you register, you can also indicate if you are connected to one of the eligible children’s hospitals. The 13 which will share in the revenue are:
- Children’s Hospital Los Angeles
- Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital
- Lucile Salter Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford
- MemorialCare Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital Long Beach
- Rady Children’s Health Orange County
- Rady Children’s Health San Diego
- UC Davis Children’s Hospital
- UC Irvine Health Children’s Hospital
- UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital
- UC San Diego Health Children’s Hospital
- UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland
- UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital San Francisco
- Valley Children’s Hospital
A special license plate debuted in Florida in 2025, and so far has raised over $5M for the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
A new spin on Roger Rabbit’s ride

We shared last week that Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin reopened at Disneyland with a noticeable change. Though “Lenny the Cab” still has a steering wheel, the wheel had been redecorated to remove the directional arrows which prompted the rider to spin the wheel, and the rider is no longer in control of the vehicle’s rotation.
A Disneyland spokesperson confirmed the change, telling MousePlanet “we continually make updates to our attractions based on a variety of factors, including guest behavior and feedback.” They pointed out one additional change to the attraction, saying, “we are now able to offer lap sitting for our younger guests on Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin, by making modifications to the steering wheel component of the attraction. This update is part of an effort to mitigate unexpected down times on this attraction and this will allow for more guests to ride the attraction and a better overall guest experience.”
Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin has no height requirement, though smaller riders are children under age 7 must be accompanied by a person 14 years or older.
Park hours extended in May and June
If you’re planning a trip to Disneyland between May 24 and June 6, double-check the park hours for your visit. Disneyland and Disney California Adventure each have extended park hours during this window, with Disneyland closing at Midnight, instead of 11:00 p.m. as previously published. On nights where there is not a Grad Nite scheduled, Disney California Adventure now closes at 10:00 p.m. It’s not a major change, but indicates to us that attendance is now expected to be higher than originally projected.
This and That

We also recommend checking the convention calendar at the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor and Convention Bureau website. When looking at that site, remember to note both the number of people and the number of rooms resulting from each convention. A gathering of 25,000 people booking few room nights (indicating most will be driving in to the area for their meeting) can impact traffic around the resort much more than a crowd of 25,000 staying in area hotels. Of course, that second group is going to make finding a hotel room more difficult (and possibly more expensive), so it’s best to book your own room as early as possible if you see that a big convention is in town during your trip.
Tickets, Discounts and Promotions
Disneyland prices as of October 8, 2025.
Note: MousePlanet does not edit past Updates to reflect price increases; for up-to-date prices, check the most recent Disneyland Resort Update. Several current promotions offer discounted admission to the Disneyland Resort. For your convenience, we have grouped the discount offers based on the number of days the tickets are valid. Check out the category that best matches the amount of time you plan to spend at the resort, and pick the offer that works best for you. And keep those tips coming—let us know if you find a better or different offer, so we can share it with other readers!
This first section is a list of discounts on ticket-only purchases. Though it has become more common in recent years, Disneyland tickets are rarely offered at deep discounts unless you are a resident of Southern California or Northern Mexico. For residents outside that area, the best discounts available tend to be simple advance purchase discounts. If you know of any additional discounts, offers, promotions, or contests that should be listed in this section, drop us a line. Note, we are no longer listing offers from the Anaheim-Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau, as their convenience fee negates any savings.
Don’t get scammed! Never buy tickets from an unofficial or secondary outlet, such as through eBay or Craigslist. Never rent or purchase tickets from people approaching you outside the gates stating they have remaining days or leftover tickets. This practice is against the terms of use for Disneyland admission, and may result in denial of entry. It is also common for criminals to shoplift inactivated Disney theme park tickets from supermarkets to resell them. There is no way to determine if these tickets are valid until you try to use them to enter the parks. Only purchase Disney theme park tickets directly from Disney, an authorized seller, or travel agency like MousePlanet travel partner Get Away Today.

California Resident Park Hopper Ticket [Offer sold out April2, 2026]
The California Resident Park Hopper ticket is $249, a savings of more than 50% when compared to the new price ($526) of a 3-day park hopper ticket. The ticket is valid for all ages 3 and older, for visits between January 1 through May 21, 2026.
Theme park reservations are required to use this ticket, and we strongly recommend making them as soon as you purchase the ticket so you have the best selection of dates.
The best news is that there is no “fuse” on this ticket, and no blockout dates. You can space out your visits to catch the holiday decorations and entertainment at Disneyland before they end on January 7, return in February for the Lunar New Year celebration, and visit one more time to enjoy the Food & Wine Festival.
It is really important to note that everyone purchasing and/or using the ticket must be a resident of California. This means you can’t purchase them for out-of-state friends and family, and everyone over the age of 18 should be prepared to show government-issued photo ID at entry.
NO longer available for purchase, though those who already bought the ticket can continue to make theme park reservations and use it.

You can make reservations up to 240 days in advance. Fortunately, Disneyland has just released their full 2026 Event and Festival calendar so you can be ready to make reservations for the events you want to attend.
You can change your dates later, but Disney will set aside only a limited number of reservations for this ticket type each day and so you may not be able to get the dates you want later. As with the prior offer, the terms state, “reservation availability for Kids’ Special Offer Ticket holders is not guaranteed for any date, and reservations may be difficult to get for any particular date, especially as the ticket expiration date approaches.”
